Follow Me

Follow Me

Follow Me

I heard Him say

I gave up a full net and walked away

I didn’t look back

To see if anyone joined me

I heard that Voice and came home

Follow Me

I hear His Voice ring

Through centuries of voices

And ceaseless songs sing

It echoes past the pages of time

Burning the question

Who will be Mine?

Follow Me

Words that move

One being called

In order to prove

When the Word speaks

There is always a heart

That drops everything

And becomes a part

Of two small words spoken

By the Heart of all Life

Follow Me and die

And real life will start.

Follow Me

Do you hear?

Follow Me

Do you know?

Follow Me

Do you see?

Follow Me

Follow Me

Walk My walk

Speak the Words

You’re taught to talk

Find Your trust

In the thick of fear

Follow Me

I Am, near

Follow Me

A Shepherd calls

A Lamb prepares

To end all falls

Follow Me

A Savior breathes

As wood is cut

And linen sheaths

Follow Me

As Satan sneers

And demons cry

To shut the ears

Of priceless lambs

That have been flocked

Follow Me

Will not be mocked

And in the end

All those who came

Will follow through

The ache and pain

A crown of thorns

And back in shreds

That, Follow me

The Devil dreads

Because the Father

Led the Son

And now the Son

Leads the lambs

And they do…follow

His nail scarred Hands

Follow Me

It echoes still

Follow Me

Know My will

Follow Me

Take My hand

Follow Me

I’ll make you stand

Follow Me

And never die

Follow Me

And find out why

Follow Me

And learn to trust

Follow Me

Follow Me

Follow Me…out of the dust

Gifts or Skills?

October 26, 2011 at 12:28 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Gifts or Skills?

Do you know what your gift is? I mean, really? I’m not talking about something that you’ve schooled to become or do – but a thing that
just is/was/has always been there.

There’s a scene in the movie, Goodwill Hunting, with Robin Williams and Matt Damon. Matt’s character and his girlfriend are at a
café, she’s doing her math homework. Matt’s character is “bugging” his girlfriend and she stops and says something like, “I know this comes easy to you, but I really WANT to learn this.” The exchange goes on about how doing those complicated, eye-popping, mind-boggling mathematical problems comes easy to him – he has always just DONE it. In the movie, the student becomes the teacher to award winning professors at a prestigious college. Matt’s girlfriend, loves music and sits down and “just plays” on her keyboard – he, however, cannot do that.

My point to that is to try to show what I mean by gift. When we are born, we are all knit together by God – and He gives us gifts. Mine is
the ability to understand and dive into the heart. That’s one. The other is an “ear” for music. The first is a rather complex one. I am like everyone else – I have a tendency to avoid my heart – deep stuff there – spiritual – hard to see, much less explain. Yet, I am prone to it more than the “average bear”. If they had a college course for seeing with and to the heart – yes, I could stand with the well educated. It’s not a course in college because true spirituality isnot marketable – for the most part it makes people uncomfortable. Few are willing to brave the scrutiny of the heart.

The second one is well…odd. You could say I’m more than a little hard of hearing. My hearing loss is severe and getting worse with each
passing year. Yet since a child I’ve sang in tune and have sat down and “just played” the piano. No lessons. Most people with hearing impairments have extreme tone deafness and thereby tend to talk out of tune…much less sing. Yet some of the most brilliant musicians have been deaf. Who but God, would defy human logic like that? Who but God, would give an uneducated, simple and rather plain person a gift for the heart? That is how I know they are gifts.

Now, I am NOT saying our gifts should not and cannot be strengthened by learning better how God intends for one to use them! BUT!! One
must be very close to hearing God’s voice in the direction He would have you go with your gifts. I have seen and known many brilliantly gifted
individuals who have lost their gift within the educating of it and honed instead, a skill, used by themselves and shaped by the world rather than God. A gift is meant to be used by God, and Him alone. It can never be subjected to our own or “mans” direction and remain the amazing quality of gift God intended.

In a world that outweighs 2 to 1 people who:

  • Don’t think they have God given gifts
  • Don’t care to see if they do because they have no interest in “God using them”
  • Lost souls who think they are or have nothing special to offer.

The first question is a dynamic one. Do you know what your gifts are? Here’s another. Do you know the Gift Giver? Really know Him? You are
reading this post, right now, and He is asking the question. Now, at this very moment is your opportunity to answer them. To discover the answer as you follow Him through your heart to the life-giving answer; or to decide to walk away from Him and stand accountable for the deadly decay of what He gave you that makes you truly unique and special to Him – and for this life.

Do you brave an answer – or cave to the silence of living routine?

Grace and Peace in Yeshua the Messiah 🙂

God First, Then Extras (Spurgeon’s Faith’s Checkbook)

October 25, 2011 at 2:47 am (WSGD Newes)

From Charles Spurgeon’s “Faith’s Checkbook” God First, Then Extras October 25 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) See how the Bible opens: “In the beginning God.” Let your life open in the same way. Seek with your whole soul, first and foremost, the kingdom of God, as the place of your citizenship, and His righteousness as the character of your life. As for the rest, it will come from the Lord Himself without your being anxious concerning it. All that is needful for this life and godliness “shall be added unto you.” What a promise this is! Food, raiment, home, and so forth, God undertakes to add to you while you seek Him. You mind His business, and He will mind yours. If you want paper and string, you get them given in when you buy more important goods; and just so all that we need of earthly things we shall have thrown in with the kingdom. He who is an heir of salvation shall not die of starvation; and he who clothes his soul with the righteousness of God cannot be left of the Lord with a naked body. Away with carking care. Set all your mind upon seeking the Lord. Covetousness is poverty, and anxiety is misery: trust in God is an estate, and likeness of God is a heavenly inheritance. Lord, I seek Thee; be found of me.
