Lord I have found this fence to climb,
And peeking over a Light does shine,
Brilliant hope before my face,
The darkness comes behind disgrace.

Altered forward motion flow
Tempting backward pulls I know
A Kingdom before me, A world behind
Through myself, While I stay blind

Who am I?
Your question bleeds
A Kingdom within grows with the weeds
Your sift and plow to trim the wheat
Grow that armor that lies at Your feet

Invitation harkens within the Light
Adventure and truth
But oh, what a fight!
Colorless, dull that seems to call
Back to the darkness to promise a fall

The fences’ slivers begin to dig
As I grasp at a meaning You came to give
I now know the only thing thats sure
Is backwards is forwards
Your words so pure

No fences to climb
Just a hop in Your lap
The measure of dominion
The length of You fills the gap

I reach for now countless
Countless unknowns
My Home is where You are
Inside spirit groans
Wordless entreaties for desires and needs
That speak in a language in these ears You feed
Hearing as You say
Not as I will
Whispering softly
Be quiet, be still
Peeking now over that fence as a child
At the same time I am walking with You undefiled

What awesome mystery that comes with the Light
The darkness behind me now makes it grow bright!

Real Estate in Heaven (Spurgeon’s Faith’s Checkbook)

February 28, 2013 at 12:26 am (Devotionals)

Real Estate in Heaven
February 28

Knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. (Hebrews 10:34)

This is well. Our substance here is very unsubstantial; there is no substance in it. But God has given us a promise of real estate in the gloryland, and that promise comes to our hearts with such full assurance of its certainty that we know in ourselves that we have an enduring substance there. Yes, “we have” it even now.

They say, “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” but we have our bird in the bush and in the hand, too. Heaven is even now our own. We have the title deed of it, we have the earnest of it, we have the firstfruits of it. We have heaven in price, in promise, and in principle; this we know not only by the hearing of the ear but “in ourselves.”

Should not the thought of the better substance on the other side of Jordan reconcile us to present losses? Our spending money we may lose, but our treasure is safe. We have lost the shadows, but the substance remains, for our Savior lives, and the place which He has prepared for us abides. There is a better land, a better substance, a better promise; and all this comes to us by a better covenant; wherefore, let us be in better spirits, and say unto the Lord, “Every day will I bless thee; and praise thy name for ever and ever.”

Iscariot by Tosca Lee

February 27, 2013 at 2:51 am (recommended reading) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Most of you know that I only post book reviews and recommendations that fall in a five star category. (Five being –  outstanding). I restate it for anyone who is new :-).

Iscariot did not disappoint and as I suspected did not shock me to find I “walk” away changed. Nothing I have read by Tosca Lee has ever done anything short of call for change. In my perspective, in my thinking, in what I have acted on prior to and the next step I take after. Indeed if one can pick up any of her books and toss it aside saying “Eh, it was alright.” I would wonder at where the “message” got lost. No insult intended to those who are not a “fan”.

I was “introduced” to Tosca in my search for “Biblical fiction” that falls outside the boundaries of “typical”. Her first book, Havah – The Story of Eve, was every bit a piece of bread from heaven as can be served by The Father Himself! Multiplying and falling from “the sky” like manna.

When I read a good author, I look for those that seem to have what Yeshua (Jesus) would say often; “They with ears, let them hear.”  Tosca does! You come away believing God sent a specific messenger to give her a more accurate and detailed witness to the stories she writes. Iscariot is no exception. The change it calls for sits comfortably (or to some uncomfortably) next to the same ones Yeshua did in all He said and did. Truly you must re-think your former evaluations and opinions of the infamous “betrayer” of Yeshua, the only one He called friend, and whom He loved as surely as He loves you or me.

In Demon – A Memoir Tosca Lee surely must have held such an interview with a centurion from Satan’s army! No better book has ever been written with blatant accuracy how deeply disturbing the level of hatred the “forsaken” has for ELOHIM and His children. If you want to know your enemy, realize the level of dedication for which you are pursued and understand better each piece of armor God equips you with, this is your book. It has the same stark reality that we all find quite uncomfortable but also invokes the change that Yeshua Himself introduced. Five stars again.

Tosca Lee has also teamed up with another among my favorite authors Ted Dekker in the series The Book of Mortals. Forbidden, Mortal, and the upcoming Sovereign.
Though this series definitely holds more of Dekker’s flavor and style Tosca’s unique finger print is clearly detectable.

There is not a book with her name on it that I wouldn’t recommend as guaranteed to bring you to the Name above all Names; Yeshua the Messiah. In the most obvious and obscure ways The Father, Son and Holy Spirit get the glory for these works written by her hand.

New Story ~ Part 2

February 26, 2013 at 3:45 am (Inklings from Hisimagenme) (, , , )

Sakira had sat down on a rock beside the river where she was rinsing the last of the wash. The last vestige of a strange vibration of sound had converged with everything around her, tickling her throat. Eyes wide and breathless she looked around. Her eyes watered and she continued to blink.

Was something wrong with her eyes? Could one gain sight when not blind?

The vibrant colors around her twinkled and stung in overwhelming beauty. The river Frakenflo gurgled and bubbled a whispered song as it flowed. Crackles and snaps came from the ground as her feet shifted where she sat. Bells seemed to be ringing in the trees and faded as the birds flew away into a wispy song sang by the movement of their wings. They grew louder as they flew over head; heralding the newness of unmuted freedom.

What strange sounds, like happiness and delight has found an instrument or been given its tongue for the first time!

She remembered the odd vibrations that came from within her own chest and added her voice to the birds again. She stood and raised her arms in abandon, so enraptured in the ecstasy of sound and color. As her hands came down and together; she startled at the SMACK. Again she brought her hands together in quick motion – SMACK! She threw her head back and laughed.

Bringing her hands closer to her ears, she repeated the action. SMACK!
Sakira jumped and shook hear head at the ringing that began its own chorus in her ears.
Trying to ascertain why every sound had such abrupt clarity whereas before she seemed to live in a muted existence. She knew sounds but now she felt them, the volume brightened, the notes refined.

The wind blew more than her hair or tickled the skin, but the very air brushed hollow and deep by her ears. The ground had definition, differing textures and hues that inundated her iridian vision. Trees went from emerald to brown to emerald again in mind boggling variety. The sky overhead was bright blue with puffy white words encoded on its tablet. The Circle of Fire was aflame, rose and yellow setting on a purple canvas.

She felt reborn with the world around her.

Truth Established (Spurgeon’s Faith’s Checkbook)

February 26, 2013 at 3:08 am (Devotionals)

Truth Established
February 26

The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment. (Proverbs 12:19)

Truth wears well. Time tests it, but it right well endures the trial. If then, I have spoken the truth and have for the present to suffer for it, I must be content to wait. If also I believe the truth of God and endeavor to declare it, I may meet with much opposition, but I need not fear, for ultimately the truth must prevail.

What a poor thing is the temporary triumph of falsehood! “A lying lip is but for a moment!” It is a mere gourd which comes up in a night and perishes in a night; and the greater its development the more manifest its decay. On the other hand, how worthy of an immortal being is the avowal and defense of that truth which can never change; the everlasting gospel, which is established in the immutable truth of an unchanging God! An old proverb saith, “He that speaks truth shames the devil.” Assuredly he that speaks the truth of God will put to shame all the devils in hell and confound all the seed of the serpent which now hiss out their falsehoods.

O my heart, take care that thou be in all things on the side of truth, both in small things and great; but specially, on the side of Him by whom grace and truth have come among men!
