The Lesson of Ailing

In sickness the soul begins to dress itself for immortality. First it unties the strings of vanity that made its upper garments cleave to the world and sit uneasy. ~ Jeremy Taylor

I awake in pain
The breath in my lungs cry out
Burning within, burning without
Illusions that peace has left surround
A sickness was sent
How would You have me receive her?
Undressing, and exposure sings my lessons
I listen, You are here too!
Jobs friends begin to hound me now.
If only…you hadn’t, would’ve….
A timeless refrain of earn and reward knocks at the door of my mind.
HOLD!! These thoughts captive my God…send them to the pigs!
Sickness is a blessing, else You would not send such.

I listen, I wait
Shaking in the ache
I praise.
Pain unfolds
Fever wraps its arms around me
Pounding head
Nose and lungs strain
Reaching, reaching for You – anew

Worship refines with each pain racked minute
Yes, I hear the new notes of gladness.
Write them down, turn them to sound…He is singing over me!
My Beloved heals where no one can tread.
Cloaked in murky water, rooted in each nerve
The pain is song and voice and verb!
When my pain begins to praise you
Then I know its purpose
I lay down and rest
And let You sing through me!

Call of Messiah

October 26, 2013 at 4:43 am (Thoughts to Ponder)

image

At some point one must decide to stop watching what God does in anyone else, stop reading and admiring His penmanship in another; at some point one must look up and say “OK, Creator of me…make me what You want…amaze in me…the presence of You!”

image

The Voice of God calls within the halls of defeat. He works with clay that yields, He makes rocks something to stand on, climb, and ultimately crush. He made both.

image

Creativity is Gods surest expression of Himself. If it has been created…no matter who gains the literary credit…He made it. If it creates a sense of awe, He is as present as the air we breathe.

image

Failure has never been fatal. Fatality is fictional.

There’s lots of “talk” about the God-directed Life. The truth is there is no other such thing; if it be alive…it’s God-directed.

Drop your nets and follow Him!

Workin’ It Out ~ Part 6

October 22, 2013 at 3:50 am (Remodeling the Mind)

image

Much of my “work outs” take me from His voice to me directly back to His Voice to all (the Word of God). Often from another’s hearing Him…again back to His voice to me and His Word. Many devotionals are this way. To example, I will share the Devotional reading and then list the scriptures that the Spirit led me to. Ending with how Adonai Himself speaks straight to me in pulling together every chord. Remembering…a chord of three strands is not easily broken 🙂
(Ecc. 4:12)

Devotional: Make Haste My Beloved by Frances J. Roberts.
Daily title: Mercy and Grace pages 34+35.

Mercy is the grace of the forgiven. It is possible to give only that which has been received. The man who has not accepted his own forgiveness (by God) cannot extend forgiveness to his brother.
It is the nature of mercy to be gracious. Grace forgives and in so doing unlocks the self-condemnation from his prison of guilt. This law operates between God and man and between man and his brother. What you loose on earth, said Jesus, shall be loosed in heaven; and likewise, what you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.
Any resentment harbored toward a brother is a binding force upon his soul. He may take authority over it and free himself (through Christ), or he may fail to recognize the source of his bondage and continue in torment. Evil thoughts towards others would be dealt with swiftly if the extent of their damaging influence were even dimly understood. Furthermore, the harmful impact is equally destructive to both the sender and receiver – the offending and the offended. For the force of evil, as the force of good, operates in a spiritually tangible way as powerfully as if it were translated into words or deeds. This is why Jesus said, in effect “the law says, do not kill, but I say, do not hate.” A man cannot be prosecuted by civil law for wrong thoughts; but in the court of heaven, his guilt is sealed while his sin is yet only a mental crime. Many a would-be saint has lost communion with his heavenly Father and forfeited inner peace because of hate, resentment and unforgiveness, even when these thoughts have been concealed in the innermost recesses of his heart.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit, the purger of souls, to ferret out these enemies of the love of Christ, to bring insight and conviction and guide the offender to repentance and forgiveness. At this point, the love of Christ takes over and begins to teach him how to redirect his thoughts into channels of love, forgiveness, and grace. He will learn how to free and not bind; how to send blessing rather than a curse; how to pray constructively rather than to condemn an erring brother.
So shall God’s people be healed and His Bride prosper because Grace shall flow from member to member, binding breaches and pouring oil upon troubled waters; opening the door for the return of the prodigal and encouraging the fainthearted.

Scriptures I was led to by the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 2:14 – in the picture at the head of this post.

John 13:8
“No!”, said Kefa (Peter), “You will never wash my feet!” Yeshua (Jesus) answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you will have no share with Me.”

John 15:1-11 ~ Yeshua speaking…
“I am the real vine, and My Father is the Gardener. Every branch which is part of Me but fails to bear fruit, He cuts off; and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit. Right now, because the Word which I have spoken to you, you are pruned. Stay united with Me, as I will with you – for just as the branch can’t put forth fruit by itself apart from the vine, so you can’t bear fruit apart from Me.
I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who stay united with Me, and I with them, are the ones who bear much fruit; because apart from Me you can’t do a thing. Unless a person remains united with Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up. Such branches are gathered and thrown into the fire, where they are burned up. If you remain united with Me, and My Words with you, then ask whatever you want, and it will happen for you. This is how My Father is glorified – in your bearing much fruit; this is how you will prove to be My talmidim (followers). Just as My Father loves Me, I too love you; so stay in My love. If you keep My commands, you will stay in My love – just as I have kept My Father’s commands and stay in His love. I have said this to you so that My joy may be in you, and your joy be complete.

Luke 5:23-24 ~ Yeshua Speaking…
Which is easier to say? ‘Your sins are forgiven you’? or ‘get up and walk’? But look! I will prove to you that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. He then said to the paralytic, “I say to you: get up, pick up your mattress and go home”!”

Luke 6:27-38 ~ Yeshua speaking…
Never the less, to you who are listening, what I say is this:
Love your enemies!
Do good, to those who hate you,
Bless those who curse you,
Pray for those who mistreat you.
If someone hits you on one cheek, offer the other too; if someone takes your coat, let him have your shirt as well.
If someone asks you for something, give it to them; if someone takes what belongs to you, don’t demand it back.
Treat other people as you would like them to treat you. What credit is it to you if you love only those who love you? Why, even sinners love those who love them. What credit is it to you if you do good only to those who do good to you? Even sinners do that. What credit is it to you if you lend only to those who you expect will pay you back? Even sinners lend to each other, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good, and lend expecting nothing back! Your reward will be great, and you will be children of Ha’Elyon (the Most High): for He is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Show compassion, just as your Father shows compassion.
Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged.
Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Give, and you will receive gifts – the full measure, compacted, shaken together and overflowing, will be put right in your lap. For the measure with which you measure out will be used to measure back to you!”

Luke 7:47 ~ Yeshua speaking…

Because of this I tell you that her sins – which are many! – have been forgiven, because she loved much. But someone who has been forgiven only a little, loves only a little.

Luke 11:23 ~ Yeshua speaking…

Those who are not with Me are against Me, and those who do not gather with Me, are scattering.

Luke 12:2-3 ~ Yeshua speaking…

There is nothing covered up that will not be uncovered, or hidden that will not become unknown. What you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Psalms 32:1-5; 10-11

How blessed are those whose offense is forgiven, those whose sin is covered! How blessed are those to whom Adonai (the Lord) imputes no guilt, in whose spirit is no deceit!

When I kept silent, my bones wasted away because of my groaning all day long; day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; the sap in me dried up as in a summer drought.
When I acknowledged my sin to You, when I stopped concealing my guilt, and said, “I will confess my offenses to Adonai”; the You, You forgave the guilt of my sin
.
Many are the torments of the wicked, but grace surrounds those who trust in Adonai. Be glad in Adonai; rejoice, you righteous! Shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Psalms 139:23-24

Examine me, God, and know my heart; test me, and know my thoughts. See if there is in me any hurtful way and lead me along the eternal Way.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

(I leave it to the same Spirit which led me to connect all those “dots” of scripture to you in the context of the devotional. I boldened the phrases and/or words that He taught me at greater depth within)
What Adonai Elohim said directly to me:

All of those Words can be summed up in these, My child spoken directly to you from Me.
For forgiveness, one needs only to see Yeshua on the cross…where He purchased every offense and its effects! No one has a right to pretend ownership of them! The sacrifice of a broken and contrite heart is to give to Me the effects and offense, where they truly die and no longer hold power over flesh.
The sacrifice is to put aside, ignore and cease feelings and thoughts that lead to resentment, hatred, need to place judgement, assess, or “correct” an offender. To ask Me, to give you the thoughts I have for you when you offend Me. To ask Me to release the chains of fleshly human feelings that can dictate the power of thought and action without Me, which leads to unseen ripples in the Kingdom in which I ask you to now LIVE! Indeed I have given you this power through the Vine! He never failed Me, remain in Him and I will reveal My compassion through you in extraordinary ways! This is how you will “see” the power built up in your trusting Me!
Forgiveness is My right hand in power beyond the likes of the most powerful thing you can think of having seen in My creation! Its effects move well beyond your ability to comprehend! The more you summit to My power in forgiveness, in receiving it absolutely from Me and giving it absolutely for Me…the more you will know Me, trust Me and rejoice (have complete joy) in My ways and My thoughts! For…don’t you agree, Child, these are the very things that made all you see, touch, smell, hear and experience?? My thoughts and My ways CREATED! Let them continue to create in you!! You are forgiven…set free…give what I have so freely given to you!

When Everything Changes

Jeremiah 31:31-36

“Here, the days are coming,” says Adonai (the Lord God Almighty), “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Y’hudah (Judah). It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated My covenant, even though I, for My part, was a husband to them,” says Adonai. “For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” says Adonai: “I will put My Torah (Teachings) within them and write it on their hearts, I will be their God, and they will be My people. No longer will any of them teach his fellow community member or his brother, ‘Know Adonai’; for all will know Me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more.”
This is what Adonai says, who gives the sun as light for the day, who ordained the laws for the moon and stars to provide light for the night, who stirs up the sea until its waves roar – Adonai Tzva’ot (the Lord of Sabbath, Lord of heaven’s armies, Lord of Host) is His Name:
“If these laws leave My presence,” says Adonai, “then the offspring of Israel will stop being a nation in My presence forever.”

Jeremiah 33:2-3

“Thus says Adonai, the Maker, Adonai who formed the universe – so as to keep directing itAdonai is His Name: ‘Call out to Me, and I will answer you – I will tell you great things, hidden things of which you are unaware.'”

At some point all things that become known to us become…real, personal, and experienced in reality. Too often we consider something known, because we read about it and accumulate head knowledge of it. We call this education. But I or anyone can read words and never know the author, or even the context of the material we read. Here’s an example:

You read the word…Israel and what comes to mind?
For many its a geographical place. For many a historical “race”. Yet, when God named this people…it had nothing to do with either. It is a real, personal and present thing to God. Israel means “the ones who turn the head of God” – those He husbands, as referred to in the above scripture. In the present time that those words were spoken to Jeremiah, the Jews were those ‘ones’. Now, praise and glory be to Yeshua (Jesus), it can be anyone, anywhere. As is referred to in the above as well, regarding the new covenant.

We can read about Israel all day and never know the God who created them. Knowledge based on accumulation of facts is useless without knowing the One who asks you to know it. All knowledge is given that we might know the One who made both us and anything knowable. That we might know Him.

The words of Adonai, that were given to Jeremiah to repeat to Israel at the time, were highly offensive. Israel at this point prided itself on teaching others about Adonai. The words of God declaring that to become null and void was…dangerous. It still is today.

What if people just start making up things and teach them as truth about God?

What will happen to priest, pastors, preachers and teachers of the Law?

Hell-mell will break loose!!

There has to be order to what people say about God…it has to “fit” within the boundaries we know!

Hence – Israel – of Jeremiah’s time rejected these words…spoken by God. History confirms these facts. So…what about when Yeshua came? Did He not speak of God outside the boundaries that Israel had confined Him to? You bet your life He did…and just like Jeremiah…His words were rejected…especially by “the church” at that time.

Can’t tell people that God can speak directly to anyone Himself!! We’ll be out of a “job” and lose control over the sheep! – can you hear them??

Yet, I tell you the truth…until each person hears the voice of God speaking, teaching, and directing them…they may well know of God, about God, but will never know God, Himself – personally.

Yeshua’s own words…
John 6:45
It is written in the Prophets, ‘They will all be taught by Adonai.’ (Isaiah 54:13) Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to Me.

Yeshua Himself, taught Paul after He returned to heaven, after He died and rose again. He has not limited His encounters with Paul, or “special persons”. The Word of God confirms…from the least to the greatest. Anyone who seeks out Adonai, to speak directly to them so they may know Him will find Him. And find He is better at teaching anything to anyone about anything, but especially Himself than any one of those who wrote down what they were taught by God, in the book we call the Bible. I say those words, without any loss of reverence to the truth that the Bible is, indeed the spoken Word of God. Yet, God did not cease to speak to His people after Revelations 22!! To clarify…lots of people seek to “know” God, but not totally, simply and only to know Him, but to know about Him or the things He made, to try to understand “why” things are the way they are, or “why” they are the way they are; or a million other reasons – but the only motive that finds Him is for those who just want to know Him. Period, end of motive.

Have people made up things about God that aren’t true? Yes. But this is true from the beginning of time. Doesn’t void what God says. Nor make it so He won’t speak to people, teaching them things about Him and all things that are not written in the Word.
Yet, the Word will only support the new thing, hidden, unknown…just like it did with each prophet, disciple, and Yeshua. But it also confirms why God decided to take the teaching about Himself, out of the hands of mankind. The false teachings about Him, were why so many who “knew” the Word of God “so well” when Yeshua came; were why they didn’t acknowledge Him! In other words, forgive the pun, any words can be twisted to suit a human beings twisted perception. Mine, yours, and God’s. So God decided to eliminate the “middle man”, and speaks for Himself. Again to clarify, He always has…spoke for Himself but now the veil is torn and we have direct access thanks to Yeshua the Messiah!!

So, how does one know then if they are hearing God’s voice? After all the Jihadist believe they hear God saying “Kill the Infidel”. And the Buddhist believes they hear God saying, “you will come back as a worm (or many other forms of life) after you die”. Or the Mormons believe God says, “Yeshua (Jesus) isn’t the Last Prophet”. How can this be? The answer is obvious…the Word of God does not support any of those things. Not even a little bit.
God spoke to people from the beginning and made sure it was written, so that we could test all things with it. He knows us so well. He does not, and never has left us without some way to confirm who He is, what He ‘sounds’ like.

Sure there is the Book of Mormon, the Koran, and countless other “holy scriptures” that people have written ages past to present! But God has been faithful to set apart His Words. Keeping it plain and simple to see. He, Himself has stayed consistent. The sun comes up in the east and sets in the west. Everyday. The stars stay the same, their cycles, just like the moon…never changing. We know Him by the vast universe He made, we need only look with our eyes to hear with the ears that Yeshua spoke of when He said countless times “He who has ears, let him hear.”

Its a scarey thing to step outside the realm of religion and ask the Creator of All to introduce Himself. Much that we thought we knew will be made into nothing, exposed for the lie that was meant to obscure Him. We must empty out our cache of knowledge and trust Him to keep what was truth and reorder what was a lie into the truth. Separating light from darkness, as is His and His alones, specialty since the first day of creation. Who better than the Truth, Himself, can reveal a lie and heal the wounds its inflicted? No human on earth has this power. It needs only One Source, and will tolerate none other. Risky stuff indeed, but then…its only the Truth and it does, will, and forever shall set one free!

Patience Waits

October 15, 2013 at 1:28 pm (Remodeling the Mind)

image

***Taken from Make Haste My Beloved by Frances J. Roberts, a devotional. (Pictures are my selection)

Patience is like the petals of a rose unfolding. It is silent. It does not complain about its slowness nor chide another for theirs. It is able to wait, for it knows that time is as important as speed. It knows there is often much speed in the Spirit while there is slowness in the flesh. It knows there is a divine clock that has wings where man’s clock has hands. It is aware of God’s perfect timing even though it cannot tell the hour. It penetrates the wall of silence and trusts that God is indeed working even though it does not hear the chiming of the passing hours. Yes, Patience is another child of Love, for it is Love that waits, knowing all is well and all WILL be well, because…God Loves and cares.

Patience can wait because Patience knows that God is Love, and love is timeless, and love is loving while patience is waiting.
