When Everything Changes

Jeremiah 31:31-36

“Here, the days are coming,” says Adonai (the Lord God Almighty), “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Y’hudah (Judah). It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated My covenant, even though I, for My part, was a husband to them,” says Adonai. “For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” says Adonai: “I will put My Torah (Teachings) within them and write it on their hearts, I will be their God, and they will be My people. No longer will any of them teach his fellow community member or his brother, ‘Know Adonai’; for all will know Me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more.”
This is what Adonai says, who gives the sun as light for the day, who ordained the laws for the moon and stars to provide light for the night, who stirs up the sea until its waves roar – Adonai Tzva’ot (the Lord of Sabbath, Lord of heaven’s armies, Lord of Host) is His Name:
“If these laws leave My presence,” says Adonai, “then the offspring of Israel will stop being a nation in My presence forever.”

Jeremiah 33:2-3

“Thus says Adonai, the Maker, Adonai who formed the universe – so as to keep directing itAdonai is His Name: ‘Call out to Me, and I will answer you – I will tell you great things, hidden things of which you are unaware.'”

At some point all things that become known to us become…real, personal, and experienced in reality. Too often we consider something known, because we read about it and accumulate head knowledge of it. We call this education. But I or anyone can read words and never know the author, or even the context of the material we read. Here’s an example:

You read the word…Israel and what comes to mind?
For many its a geographical place. For many a historical “race”. Yet, when God named this people…it had nothing to do with either. It is a real, personal and present thing to God. Israel means “the ones who turn the head of God” – those He husbands, as referred to in the above scripture. In the present time that those words were spoken to Jeremiah, the Jews were those ‘ones’. Now, praise and glory be to Yeshua (Jesus), it can be anyone, anywhere. As is referred to in the above as well, regarding the new covenant.

We can read about Israel all day and never know the God who created them. Knowledge based on accumulation of facts is useless without knowing the One who asks you to know it. All knowledge is given that we might know the One who made both us and anything knowable. That we might know Him.

The words of Adonai, that were given to Jeremiah to repeat to Israel at the time, were highly offensive. Israel at this point prided itself on teaching others about Adonai. The words of God declaring that to become null and void was…dangerous. It still is today.

What if people just start making up things and teach them as truth about God?

What will happen to priest, pastors, preachers and teachers of the Law?

Hell-mell will break loose!!

There has to be order to what people say about God…it has to “fit” within the boundaries we know!

Hence – Israel – of Jeremiah’s time rejected these words…spoken by God. History confirms these facts. So…what about when Yeshua came? Did He not speak of God outside the boundaries that Israel had confined Him to? You bet your life He did…and just like Jeremiah…His words were rejected…especially by “the church” at that time.

Can’t tell people that God can speak directly to anyone Himself!! We’ll be out of a “job” and lose control over the sheep! – can you hear them??

Yet, I tell you the truth…until each person hears the voice of God speaking, teaching, and directing them…they may well know of God, about God, but will never know God, Himself – personally.

Yeshua’s own words…
John 6:45
It is written in the Prophets, ‘They will all be taught by Adonai.’ (Isaiah 54:13) Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to Me.

Yeshua Himself, taught Paul after He returned to heaven, after He died and rose again. He has not limited His encounters with Paul, or “special persons”. The Word of God confirms…from the least to the greatest. Anyone who seeks out Adonai, to speak directly to them so they may know Him will find Him. And find He is better at teaching anything to anyone about anything, but especially Himself than any one of those who wrote down what they were taught by God, in the book we call the Bible. I say those words, without any loss of reverence to the truth that the Bible is, indeed the spoken Word of God. Yet, God did not cease to speak to His people after Revelations 22!! To clarify…lots of people seek to “know” God, but not totally, simply and only to know Him, but to know about Him or the things He made, to try to understand “why” things are the way they are, or “why” they are the way they are; or a million other reasons – but the only motive that finds Him is for those who just want to know Him. Period, end of motive.

Have people made up things about God that aren’t true? Yes. But this is true from the beginning of time. Doesn’t void what God says. Nor make it so He won’t speak to people, teaching them things about Him and all things that are not written in the Word.
Yet, the Word will only support the new thing, hidden, unknown…just like it did with each prophet, disciple, and Yeshua. But it also confirms why God decided to take the teaching about Himself, out of the hands of mankind. The false teachings about Him, were why so many who “knew” the Word of God “so well” when Yeshua came; were why they didn’t acknowledge Him! In other words, forgive the pun, any words can be twisted to suit a human beings twisted perception. Mine, yours, and God’s. So God decided to eliminate the “middle man”, and speaks for Himself. Again to clarify, He always has…spoke for Himself but now the veil is torn and we have direct access thanks to Yeshua the Messiah!!

So, how does one know then if they are hearing God’s voice? After all the Jihadist believe they hear God saying “Kill the Infidel”. And the Buddhist believes they hear God saying, “you will come back as a worm (or many other forms of life) after you die”. Or the Mormons believe God says, “Yeshua (Jesus) isn’t the Last Prophet”. How can this be? The answer is obvious…the Word of God does not support any of those things. Not even a little bit.
God spoke to people from the beginning and made sure it was written, so that we could test all things with it. He knows us so well. He does not, and never has left us without some way to confirm who He is, what He ‘sounds’ like.

Sure there is the Book of Mormon, the Koran, and countless other “holy scriptures” that people have written ages past to present! But God has been faithful to set apart His Words. Keeping it plain and simple to see. He, Himself has stayed consistent. The sun comes up in the east and sets in the west. Everyday. The stars stay the same, their cycles, just like the moon…never changing. We know Him by the vast universe He made, we need only look with our eyes to hear with the ears that Yeshua spoke of when He said countless times “He who has ears, let him hear.”

Its a scarey thing to step outside the realm of religion and ask the Creator of All to introduce Himself. Much that we thought we knew will be made into nothing, exposed for the lie that was meant to obscure Him. We must empty out our cache of knowledge and trust Him to keep what was truth and reorder what was a lie into the truth. Separating light from darkness, as is His and His alones, specialty since the first day of creation. Who better than the Truth, Himself, can reveal a lie and heal the wounds its inflicted? No human on earth has this power. It needs only One Source, and will tolerate none other. Risky stuff indeed, but then…its only the Truth and it does, will, and forever shall set one free!

Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah ❤
