Anything by Ginger Garrett is worth every second and penny! This story is a wonderful new perspective on 1526-1536, England and King Henry VIII, Angels, and how God moves in and around events and people to accomplish His will. This is book One of this series called The Chronicles of the Scribe.

I think for this series review, the best track is to list my favorite quotes from the book. Obviously they may be harder to follow due to the context of the story being largely lacking…but I do believe most of them will stand on their own merit…and whet the appetite :-).

Names have power, he said. The past has power. The two meet in this book. No one among you will be allowed to know its full contents until the Day. ~ Page 23

“The afterlife is not a place for cowards”….Fear dripped from my heart to my stomach. “I don’t want to do this anymore. I just want to die.”
“You don’t want to live,” he said. “They are not the same. Death is no escape.” ~ page 36

Children were indeed a mystery, she thought, but those maturing into adults were simply unfathomable. ~ page 43

“…Emotion is law to this generation. I feel, therefore I act. I do not feel pain, therefore it must be okay…” ~ page 66

To turn in any direction in this place was to see that His calling, His book, His cup, all pointed finally to this brutal death. ~ page 82

This is why Christ hung there and never came down, she thought. He hung in agony so that those in grief could not accuse Him of less. He hung rent open, and men were comforted by the sight. In this bitter life, who could love a God who did not suffer? ~ page 86

God’s graces were so many, so rich, and so sustaining that they left no room for rotten fears. ~ page 121

Once Rose had resented these litters darting through London’s streets, making hazards for children and the infirm. But it was clear that bearing down on people produced no ill effect, nor did it encourage them to move. Rose and Margret were stuck, forced to submit at points to the indifferent will of the people. ~ page 143

“Nay! I must consider but one death, and that is Christ’s. No one can help those who are already gone.” ~ page 178

Yes, he was honorable, was deeply good, and that is what comforted him as he did the bloody work. ~ page 195

“They’ll persist in their sin. Its the only thing they’ve truly ever owned.” ~ page 218

“When you lay your head on the block, you will feel Someone lay across you, His arms over yours, His neck across your own. The blade will pass through Him first, and you will be free. Do you understand?” ~ page 303

***From the Personal Note to Readers – One thing I do know right now: to write well requires pausing. Reading, too, is a pause. In these rich, still moments, the Spirit of God, who permeates the world around us, breaks through the chaos and creates something new in our hearts. It takes effort to pause.

Ginger Garret’s writing style is the full bodied richness of the secrets that get whispered to one whose eyes are only seeking the Father, through the Son, inspired by the Spirit. The Hallmark’s of the Kingdom are etched upon her work…

Following Yeshua (Jesus) ~ A Voice or Script? ~ Part 3

December 19, 2013 at 12:21 am (WSGD Newes)

image

Matthew 4:1

Then the Spirit led Yeshua up into the wilderness to be tempted by the Adversary.

In parts 1 & 2 of this series we have been digging to answer the question:
Did Yeshua live from one moment to the next, listening to the Father instruct, lead, guide and teach, repeating only what He heard, doing only what the Father said to do? Or
Was Yeshua given a sort of Script to follow before He was born and followed it without turning right or left?

This part picks up where we left off. The above verse sheds much light on the path we are “following” :-). Two things illuminate right away.
1) The text reads…the Spirit led Yeshua…if prior scripting is all Yeshua did perform; why would He need the Spirit to lead Him here?
2) Notice where the Spirit led Him!! This doesn’t “sound” like a “Godly” thing to do does it?? At least not how its taught in mainstream Christianity. Most have usually coupled this verse up to alleviate any panick people may get with the scripture that assures us God does not tempt His people. (James 1:13; 1 Cor. 10:13) Which if you read these carefully…you will find they never say God does not lead anyone into testing at all. Yet let’s look at Yeshua’s own words in addressing God the Father in prayer…

Matthew 6:13

And do not lead us into hard testing, but keep us safe from the evil one.

Why address the Father in such a way? Its plain Who we are addressing. Its also plain Who the Who is that is being asked to lead as well. God indeed is the One directing paths here. And Yeshua is asking us to ask Him not to lead us into HARD testing, not no testing! Its important to keep this in mind as we move into how we get ears to hear.

Now we go straight to where Yeshua Himself tells us how we get ears to hear His Voice.

John 3: 5-8;

Yeshua answered, “Yes, indeed I tell you that unless a person is born from water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. What is born of flesh is flesh, and what is born from the Spirit is spirit. Stop being amazed at My telling you that you must be born again from Above! The wind blows where it wants to, you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where its going. That’s how it is with everyone who has been born from the Spirit.

The last statement is baffling if we do not understand the point Yeshua is making with the wind. Wind is directed by God. So it “takes its orders” from Him alone. See where Yeshua says “it blows where it wants to“? The question should always be in our minds…”Who is behind or the Causer of all created things?” Refer to Genesis 1 if you are unclear Who created wind. Wind does not have a “mind of its own” apart from God. In fact, we humans are the only creatures/creation God made that is capable of “having our own minds”. Everything else from animals to all created matter, gases, forces, and so on takes its orders from God alone. Human beings have been given a special gift this way. It is actually either a gift or a curse depending on what we submit our minds to. But getting back to the scripture above. Come in closely and see what’s being said! Notice He says, “you hear its sound but don’t know where it comes from or where its going.”? This is huge. For the Spirit is being reflected here in the wind. Interestingly in the language Yeshua spoke (Hebrew) the mindset is that wind and breath are one and the same. We see this reflected in Old Testament scriptures all the time! But here’s the confirmation!

John 20:22

Having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit)!”

Note: Yeshua never spit into dirt, wrote in the dirt or breathed into or onto anything or anyone due to some unknown “witchcrafty” thing! Dirt is highly significant!! Why? Again we go back to the Beginnings (Genesis) to find out; keeping in mind the Who we are following!

Genesis 2:7

Then Adonai, God, formed a person from the dust of the ground (dirt) and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, so that he became a living being.

To wrap this point up. Yeshua in John 3:5-8 is pointing directly to the answer to our original query. When we are born again we receive the Holy Spirit, Who gives us ears to hear. As we now submit to His lead, we hear His Voice. Yet we keep in mind His thoughts are not like our thoughts nor His ways like our ways. (Isaiah 55:8) So upon hearing His voice we may be unsure where He is coming from or where He may be going in what He is telling us, but we must obey without question trusting Him completely. So as Yeshua did, we too must do!

I will end this with the only thing worth noting. The Word, for your further study. May the Spirit lead you into all Truth by the power of Yeshua the Messiah sent by the Father who is still speaking to His children, in order to bring us into His great Light!

1 John 3:19-25

Here is how we will know we are from the Truth and will set our hearts at rest in His presence: if our hearts know something is against us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts know nothing against us, we have confidence in approaching God; then, whatever we ask for, we receive from Him; because we are obeying His commands and doing the things that please Him. This is His command: that we are to trust in the person and power of His Son, Yeshua the Messiah and keep loving one another, just as He commanded us. Those who obey His commands remain united with Him and He with them. Here is how we know that He remains united with us: by the Spirit whom He gave us.

1 Corinthians 2:3-16

Also I myself was with you as somebody weak, nervous and shaking all over from fear; and neither the delivery nor the content of my message relied on compelling words of “wisdom” but on a demonstration of the power of the Spirit, so that your trust might not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power.
Yet there is a wisdom that we are speaking to those mature enough for it. But it is not the wisdom of this world or this world’s leaders, who are in the process of passing away. On the contrary, we are communicating a secret wisdom from God which has been kept hidden until now but which, before history began, God had decreed would bring us glory. Not one of this worlds leaders has understood it; because if they had, they would not have executed the Lord from Whom this glory flows. But, as the Tanakh (Old Testament) says,

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no one’s heart has imagined all the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.” Isaiah 64:4, 52:15

It is to us, however, that God has revealed these things. How? Through the Spirit. For the Spirit probes all things, even the profoundest depths of God. For who knows the inner workings of a person except the person’s own spirit inside him? So, too, no one knows the inner workings of God except God’s Spirit. Now we have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit of God, so that we might understand the things God has so freely given us. These are the things we are talking about when we avoid the manner of speaking that human wisdom would dictate and instead use a manner of speaking taught by the Spirit, by which we explain things of the Spirit to people who have the Spirit. Now the natural man does not receive the things from the Spirit of God – to him they are nonsense! Moreover, he is unable to grasp them, because they are evaluated through the Spirit. But the person who has the Spirit can evaluate everything, while no one is in a position to evaluate him.

For who has known the mind of Adonai (the Lord)? Who can counsel Him? – Isaiah 40:13

But we have the Mind of the Messiah!!

1 Corinthians 3:16

Don’t you know that you people are God’s Temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

Matthew 11:25 ~ Yeshua speaking…

It was at this time that Yeshua said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You concealed these things from the sophisticated and educated and revealed them to ordinary folks.

Matthew 13:11 ~ Yeshua speaking…

He answered, “Because it has been given to you to know the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven, but not to them.

Matthew 16:17 ~ Yeshua speaking…

“Shim’on Bar-Yochanan (Simon (Peter) son of John)”, Yeshua said to him, “how blessed you are! For no human being revealed this to you, no, it was My Father in heaven.

Luke 4:14; 17-21

Yeshua returned to the Galil in the power of the Spirit, and reports about Him spread throughout the countryside.

And He was given the scroll of the prophet Yesha’yahu (Isaiah). Unrolling the scroll, He found the place where it was written,

“The Spirit of Adonai is upon Me because He has anointed Me to announce Good News to the poor; He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the imprisoned and renewed sight for the blind, to release those who have been crushed, to proclaim a year of the favor of Adonai.”

After closing the scroll and returning it to the shammash (attendant, servant, caretaker, deacon), He sat down; and the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on Him. He started to speak to them: “Today, as you heard it read, this passage of the Tanakh was fulfilled””

Luke 24:49 – Yeshua speaking..

Now I am sending forth upon you what My Father promised, so stay here in the city until you have been equipped with power from Above.”

John 14:25-26 ~ Yeshua speaking…

I have told you these things while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything; that is, He will remind you of everything I have said to you.

John 15:26 ~ Yeshua speaking…

“When the Counselor comes, whom I will send you from the Father – the Spirit of Truth, who keeps going out from the Father – He will testify on My behalf.

Galatians 1:11-12

Furthermore, let me make clear to you, brothers, that the Good News as I proclaim is not a human product; because neither did I receive it from someone else nor was I taught it – it came through direct revelation from Yeshua the Messiah.
(Note: this is Paul speaking, who did not begin proclaiming the Good News until after Yeshua died and rose and ascended back to heaven!)

He who has ears, let him hear!!

Liebster Award – Response

December 17, 2013 at 12:37 am (WSGD Newes)

Liebster Award.

I would like to deeply express my gratitude to Monday Morning Motivation for nominating me for a reward. It was an honor.

While I did not “participate” precisely as the award required. I would like to express why.

I found the questions (I could not find the questions from who nominated me) well… too much about ME! I must be clear..”my” blog writing is an obedience to Adonai. He asked me to start it, and He is the Author of them. I have literally tried to write of my own accord and the vocabulary and language of coherency literally took its leave of me. I know this may sound “ultra spiritual” but its the truth. It is at His prompting and if it makes any sense or impact at all…ALL the credit goes to Him alone.

I could tell of so many times I had a great idea for a post and sat down full of inspiration and words and, as is my commitment to Adonai, upon praying for the Spirit to speak through me, use me, and be glorified…the pages remained blank. I would often get very discouraged, take it personal. Yet, in these times God keeps my hearts desire pure. I desire only what He would say through me, nothing more nothing less. This blog is NOT about me. I am no great gifted writer, I have less than a High School education, there is no reason at all why anything about me should qualify or disqualify me to write. Except that I am a Child of the One Most High God and He said, “Write for Me.” And gave me the will and love for Him to obey.

On the other side, I love to write! I love words and language and believe most of us never know how powerful they are! My favorite subject in all the world is Adonai, Yeshua, and the Spirit of the Living God. There is NO subject for which He is not the center…He is AMAZING! I have sat in front of blank pages and blinked and found myself reading the very heart of my God! Taking it in as if my fingers, mind and body had no idea what it was partaking in! I wonder often if this is not how the prophets of old must have felt (though I would never say I am in their “league”!) I have been compelled to write things my human flesh has felt inferior to write about (and boy did the Lord have to work myself out of me to get my fingers moving!). Its human nature I suppose that feels like one should be “qualified” or in some way on the latter end of learning a subject before writing about it. God has worked miracles in me to change my perspective, no human could ever be qualified to even talk about the hem of His garment, if the “latter end of learning” be the qualifier! There’s a reason He gives us eternal Life! He intends to use it! The learning of Him will take that long…or He is not God! I am the one who usually demands a “graduation” and “new course”. This is not how God works! We need repeats… in the sense that He must take us into the same room from many different angles in our learning. You could say He is building a 3D model of Trust in Him with each!

I do not read other blogs for “hits”, nor do I advertise. I am totally unaware of how to “pimp my blog” and have been given instructions to “Leave it to Adonai”. He has total control over who reads this blog and I pray He alone is the spotlight of it!

Have I been tempted to get discouraged over the lack of “likes” and “popularity” of these post? Absolutely! Yet He is faithful to keep my focus on Him!

Flip side: have I been excited and been tempted to think well of myself when a good deal of “likes” and shares have been given?
You bet…again I am grateful for grace and mercy! I repent and He maintains my focus! Its all about Him…I have no need to know what, where, when, or how He uses me…I just know He does and truly want Him to get the glory and trust He does!

When we obey Him…I believe one day we will be profoundly enlightened about all He did in one little obedience at a time, its impact for His Kingdom! I am waiting for that day…where those treasures will be revealed. 🙂

Here, on this blog, He keeps this attitude faithful! I do so wish every single aspect of my flesh was so obedient!! For like all those around me, I fail Him…it breaks my heart and His, but there too, His grace suffices! More than suffices, it is VICTORIOUS!!! Praise and glory all be to Yeshua the Messiah!

I can admit an award in human terms feels good, but it does nothing compared to His “Well done.” It is my prayer, that this be the only reason I write, breathe, work, labor, struggle, suffer and live!

Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah 🙂

The 30th Day

December 12, 2013 at 11:54 am (Mile Stones)

image

30 days ago I asked that we commit to praying only the prayer Yeshua (Jesus) instructed us to pray. Taking nothing away and adding nothing to; but letting the words He instructed and the Spirit “fill in” in words and groans not able to be comprehended by our human perspective according to God the Father’s will.

I would like to share how He taught and gave insight to the last 30 days doing so with me 🙂

Matthew 6:9-13
You, therefore, pray like this:

Our Father in Heaven!
May Your Name be kept Holy
May Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us the food we need today.
Forgive us what we have done wrong, as we too have forgiven those who have wronged us.
And do not lead us into hard testing, but keep us safe from the evil one.
For Kingship, power and glory are Yours forever.
Amen.

This was easy to pray in general, yet I asked Him: “Father, how do I pray for others using only this prayer?”
His answer…“Think of one you want to lift up to My attention, Child.”

The name and face of someone came to mind.
He then said to begin to say the prayer, following His lead.
So, I began…

Father in Heaven
May Your Name be kept Holy
(He instructed me to say here, “in so-n-so” I will say Mary for example, a name)
So it went…May Your Name be kept Holy in “Mary”
May Your Kingdom come (in “Mary), Your will be done (in “Mary”) here as it is in Heaven
Give (her) the food she needs today.
Forgive (“Mary”) the wrongs she has done, as she forgives the wrongs done to her.
And lead her not into hard testing, but keep her safe from the evil one.
For Your Kingship, power and glory are Yours forever
Amen

I would often say the name of the one I was praying for instead of her/him as well. What a profound thing this is! Its truly covered everything possible and left it open for the Spirit and Advocate Savior Yeshua to “fill in” what I could not begin to know they need! What a blessing!

I would place my hand over Sams heart daily and pray this prayer using our names specifically daily.

I found it uncanny how Yeshua instructed us to pray using plural forms such as us, we, our, and those. For in praying this prayer for those around the world with whom I knew not their names but knew served Him and His Kingdom, it becomes profound in praying for all.

Here are the scriptures (too many to type out) I was led to in studying this prayer and learning more (the deeper things) about Adonai (the Lord) in it.

Verse 9 – Jeremiah 3:17-19; Isaiah 63:16; Psalms 89:26; Matthew 23:9; 1 Peter 1:17

Verse 10 – Daniel 2:44; Luke 8:10; 11:20; 17:20-21; Hebrews 12:28; Revelation 1:5-6; 5:10;13

Verse 11 – Isaiah 33:15-16; Psalms 111:5-6; Proverbs 30:8; Matthew 4:4; 6:31-33; Luke 12:29-32; John 6:27; 21:17; 1 Corinthians 10:3

Verse 12 – Psalms 32:1; 85:2; 130:4; Matthew 6:14; 7:2; 11:25; 18:32; Luke 6:37; Romans 4:8; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:13

Verse 13 – Isaiah 12:5; Daniel 4:3; 7:13-14; 1Timothy 6:13-16; Revelations 19:6-8

What struck me profoundly was how the Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of reciprocity.
Reciprocity is defined as; the practice of exchanging “things” with others for the mutual benefit.
The benefit being the Glory of God, and the exchange?? Not things but forgiveness!

This prayer and every word from Yeshua solidifies this as Truth. Forgive as the Father forgives, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, judge not and you will not be judged, as you measure so it will be measured unto you, if you seek you will find, blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy, and on and on this theme threads through the Tapestry He wove for us to wrap ourselves into.
I was profoundly cautioned as well about a theme popular today…this concept of “forgiving oneself”. The heavy hand of Adonai was firm in warning against such a way of thinking. Why? Because we can not forgive unless we receive forgiveness from God! There is absolutely NO scripture to suggest we need or have the power to forgive ourselves. We “get our needs” from God, who then gives it that we may give it to others. Adonai’s and His alones forgiveness is all we need and is absolute, complete, totally finished. Hence the prayer only says…forgive us (the Father is where we are seeking our own forgiveness) the wrongs we have done… and (reciprocity) then…
as we have forgiven those who have wronged us.
The “flow” of forgiveness runs only one way…starting with and originating from the One who created forgiveness, the King of the Kingdom we are praying about and now a part of
God, Elohim, Adonai, the Father
Flowing down through His Son, Yeshua (Jesus) to His people for the whole of creation to the glory of God. It starts with His glory and ends there.
If we “forgive ourselves” first of all “our forgiveness” does not exist for ourselves…no such concept of forgiveness is self absorbed, self motivated, selfish. It simply does not exist. Second the we (ourselves) attempting to do the thing only God can do, then takes the place of God, which is idolatry.

I love the way the Complete Jewish Bible translates “hallowed be Thy Name” as most Bibles read. May Your Name be kept Holy…remembering that the whole concept of the word name is character. We are asking that who God is be kept Holy, separate, clean and pure. The word hallowed is often very abstract and hard to understand.

I can not express all the many blessings that these last 30 days have given in diving into the depth of Yeshua’s wisdom in His giving us such a complete and thorough set of words to pray. I pray you were blessed as well..and will perhaps share your 30 day “Lords Prayer” fast with others. 🙂
