The Sin Within

May 28, 2014 at 1:52 am (Devotionals, Poems, Prayers, Remodeling the Mind) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Romans 14:23

…And anything not based on trust is a sin.

O foul unholy you doubtful thought
That paints a picture where you ought nought
To slip inside a pure made gift
And play around as if sands don’t shift

For the Truth is found and forever
It’s gleam beyond your inky vista
The One who fashioned all has kissed ya
Clandestine and cryptic you allure and pull
But your wolvish skin burns away the wool
Revealing inside the attempt to subdue
The brilliant blaze that consumes untrue

O Father of Truth and undying Light
Behold my eyes and repair my sight
Build up in me a resistance to doubt
With the river Forgiveness to cast it out
I trust in Your Fire and walk into
Your heart of flame that will keep me true
And lay not my hand to any such act
That falls from Your grace and heavenly fact

Relent not to move any such thing
That gets in the way of honoring Your Name
And trust shall I choose with all that I am
In the roar of the Lion and the sigh of the Lamb

Titus 1:15

To all who are themselves pure, everything is pure. But to those who are defiled and without trust, nothing is pure – even their minds and consciences have been defiled.

Hebrews 11:6

And without trusting, it is impossible to be well pleasing to God, because whoever approaches Him must trust that He does exist and that He becomes a Rewarder to those who seek Him out.

Matthew 6:22-23

The eye is the lamp of the body. So if you have a good eye your whole body will be full of light; but if you have an evil eye your whole body will be full of darkness. If, then, the light in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Don’t Miss Jesus

May 15, 2014 at 6:56 pm (Devotionals, Poems, Remodeling the Mind) (, , , , , , , )

He is there around the corner of that dusty Inn
No cares for its appearance He walks right in
Even though the street is named for its certain “kind” of Hell
Peace and understanding walks into the empty shell
He lays His hands upon the open oozing wounds
And sets free the waylaid captive from inside their tombs.
Can you see Him?
Don’t miss Jesus.

He’s sitting down along side the drunkard in the alley way
Sharing a sip of the drink His child consumes today
The stench of the forgotten does not reach His nose
He unchains the binds that drink His brother and stands in front of the stones it throws
Do you see Him?
Don’t miss Jesus

He’s there beside the pastor standing at the front
Of crowds of restless listeners
While the doors go thump
Orchestrating every word that proceeds from his mouth
Watching eyes be open and ears turn South
Waiting patient for His Father to enter in
Sending His holy prayer to forgive their sin
Do you see Him?
Don’t miss Jesus

He takes the hands of the doubter
While he walks away
And touches future moments
When his doubt will sway
Releasing Truth upon them
With a gentle hand
Do you see this Man?
Don’t miss Jesus

His arms surround a griever
Shaking fist of blame
To all of life and it’s Giver
While their hearts aflame
Pouring out His waters
Like a river wild
Washing, stroking, holding
This His precious Child
Do you see Him?
Don’t miss Jesus

He is standing in the midst of a few gangster boys
Listening to the rhythm on their empty toys
Rage against the wounds that beat and kill
He is the Still and Quiet riot in their midst
He writes their names with His blood upon a Page
Writing souls down on a moment not yet seen
He is the inbetween
Do you see Him?
Don’t miss Jesus

He’s there beside the lesbian
Who’s just been told her sin
Is greater than the liar
Who knows the truth within
He prays to His Father
Reminding Him that He now holds the Balances paid in full with Blood
He drank the cup and His hands became each scale
He cups her face and whispers
“That’s why they now have holes”
She looks up into His face -though right now she can’t see
He assures her spirit
“An appointed time will come I promise child you’re free”
Do you see Him?
Don’t miss Jesus

How can you love Him and miss Him?
How can you know Him and doubt Him? He now lives inside sinners.
He sits beside sinners. He holds the hands of sinners. He opens the eyes of sinners. He whispers His love to sinners. Past, present, future… sinners. He sits at the right Hand of the Father, who sent Him to and for sinners. He died for sinners, rose again for sinners. Now alive for sinners. He saves sinners. Because that’s all there is. .. For now. .. sinners.
Do you see Him?
Don’t miss Jesus
Don’t miss Yeshua
Don’t miss Salvation
Sins are not remembered
Forgiveness is
Forgiveness has a Name
Unforgotten and True
Don’t miss Him… His Name is Jesus!

Loves Fight

May 13, 2014 at 1:42 pm (Devotionals, Poems) (, , , , , , , )

(See the Book of Hosea)

This is what My love does
I stand ahead with My Blood flowing red and go before My beloved
I fight for Her
Not with swords of metal or words of shame
But I woo Her with My Love that never counts Her shame
I send Her flowers of grace and mercy
That defies Her guilty past
I send Her boxes of candied sweets
That assures that True Love will last
I act only on the simple Truth
That My Love does not depend
On Her loving Me or any such deed
But simply that My Love is enough
I did not come down to a Bride who sees such Love
I came to the blind and wayward to find
Its all wrapped up in My Love
I see the enemy attempting to woo My Beloved away from Me
And often she goes and gives him her robes
But I then begin on a new one
Never giving up; always believing in all that I have done
Oh My Beloved of Mine you shall always be Mine; no enemy can kidnap you
For all is Mine and doing My will
And I promise Myself I shall not let go of you
Though I do not force you to My heart
I will always make a way for you to come Home
The Light shall shine on no matter the hour
Love that keeps wooing but lets go is Power
Love that keeps holding on from within will win the darkest hour
So it is written; so it shall be done
Because of Love and My precious Son
Love is the Victory
Love is a slave to the unlovely

Inside My Broken Shore

May 8, 2014 at 2:52 am (Mile Stones, Poems, Remodeling the Mind, Songs) (, , , , , )

I think I finally know what You are saying when You say “poor”
No bank can hold this poor girls riches
And the cupboards fall to the floor
With Your Spirit living inside there’s always room for more

I think I finally know what You are saying; the truth behind the “food”
In a soul starved world which abounds in riches
The stomach lays there nude
To do the will of the Father is substance more profoundly real
Than the healthiest of consumption
Real food is not concealed

I think I know what You are saying; the wealth of “thirst” for You
For waters roar abound and rapid
But the quench of thirst rest on Your eternal touch
It seems so small but saves so much

I look around and find myself aloft with every creature
Trying to fill an eternal stomach with what these eyes can see
But gently and softly You turn my gaze within and to Your Son
He takes my hand and pulls me near and all my wealth is done

Empty, Uncertain
Your waters break my shore
On the run to find pigs
They’re welcome here no more
Full but still filling
My eyes overflow
My spirit is “pooring”
But Yours is more than sure
The Kingdom is giving
Beyond the break of day
You open my eyes to the offer
That will never go away
Because I’m poor
You are surely feeding
And the Kingdom is filled and flowing
Inside my broken shore
