Darkness Highlights Hope

Hebrews 10:23

Let us continue holding fast to the hope we acknowledge, without wavering; for the One who made the Promise is trustworthy.

With each passing day, my heart cries out for Home. Whether it’s because of my own hurts and sufferings or watching loved ones hurt and suffer. Watching the world in heavy labor. One would have to be lethargic to just be happily going about their life as if the air isn’t fairly cracking with spiritual energy that snaps it’s fingers by an ear and it rings for hours.

Passover…a very special festival. One that Yeshua (Jesus), Himself, became! The church sleeps in the Easter Bunnies nest, making merry and turning the knobs to appropriately sober for the death and resurrection of their Savior. Yet, Yeshua didn’t say celebrate my death and resurrection. No, it was Passover He was observing, as commanded by God, when He said “Do this in remembrance of Me”. Not Easter, not Resurrection day. Why do we change things?

I’m heavy with the disturbance it causes to ask such questions. So simple, yet uncomfortable. Why? The same Bible I read, is the same most my brethren read. Why is the fact that Yeshua is a Jew/Hebrew, who followed the Hebrew ways that God instructed from the beginning, why is this so full of controversy? I know more people willing to go blind over a neighbors skin color, sexual orientation….yada yada…but everyone must turn the Savior into their own personal preference for safety? I’m unsure what others call that, but in my book, if someone wants to paint me other than I am in order to “like” me, they really have no interest in me. From my 47 years of experience, 90% of those on earth feel the same way. So why do we make the Savior – God, different than He is and call it loving and serving Him?

Let’s look at Passover, put in ‘christianeese’. God commanded the festival to be observed in perpetuity. They were to bring in a young male Lamb, and kill it on the third day. Why command them to bring the Lamb inside before they killed it? It’s important for the life you get out of a life to mean something to you. Ask any farmer and they’ll tell you, they keep their distance from their “food animals”. In other words, they don’t get brought inside.

Then God commanded that they eat the entire lamb, nothing was to be “left over”. An odd command? Not if you think like a Hebrew. To eat something completely is to accept the WHOLE offering. Leaving nothing out, it becomes a part of you, living on in you. You then take this offering/sacrifice with you always in your spirit. Humility. Thankfulness. It marks you on the inside. When you bond with a young lamb and then eat it entirely, it changes you.

Everyone focuses on the lambs blood on the door post. The outside. I can count on one hand and have fingers left over, how many times I’ve heard a sermon about the topic above, the inside stuff. As always, humans focus on the outside. Not to negate the importance of that blood, it’s what the spirit of death looked for to ‘pass over’ the house – spare it.

Yet here we come to Yeshua, the Passover Lamb Himself. If our hearts and minds are not covered in His blood, the same thing happens to us. God makes physical everything He aims to hammer in spiritually. Which is why He commanded the perpetual observance of this festival. He knew we needed physical connections to Him. If you have never experienced a real Messianic Passover sedar you are missing out! It is so full of meaning upon meaning that the perpetual need to observe it is absolutely needed!

The darkness is closing in dear fellow-sheep. The hour draws near. The temptation is to thank God He’s coming soon, or beg Him to so that our world can be made right. But it’s HIS world, He’s correcting, not ours. Every minute and hour, day and week, week and month, month and year was planned very careful by Adonai to bring Egypt about…the whole Israeli freedom movement…Moses story….

Meaning upon meaning was what He built the mechanism that drove the time wheels forward to that first Passover, the same to the one Yeshua became. The same to this one. Are you full on the riches of it all? You can be. We all can be…like Yeshua…having consumed every part of Him, leaving nothing out…full of His Likeness. Passed over by death again and again…

It’s then that we understand this present darkness illuminates the Hope, it doesn’t darken it.

Today is the first day of Passover. Follow Yeshua, Jesus…let Him show you from the beginning what it means. Why it is commanded of us to observe. It’s not a jewish thing. It’s a God thing. It’s His thing. It’s WHO He is!

✡ May the grace and peace of Yeshua the Messiah be with you…always…He comes soon!✡
