You Have Established Strength!

December 10, 2012 at 2:50 am (Prayers) (, , , )

Psalm 8:1-2
Adonai! Our Lord! How glorious is Your Name throughout the earth! The fame of Your Majesty spreads even above the heavens!
From the mouth of babies and infants at the breast You established strength because of Your foes, in order that You might silence the enemy and the avenger.

I wonder…so long ago…such a miracle! The earth felt the birth of the Annointed. Strange not, to all that has not been given a will to forget its Maker! One thousand years, two…three. How long has it been since His human feet have stirred the dust of the very ground we walk on? Do those stars wish they could “line up” again to announce the very reason they exist? The winds of sorrow drown out hope again. The long haul has birthed again apathy for Life. Jesus? Yeshua? Who is He but a once great teacher, philosopher, great speaker? Santa Claus has taken over King Herod’s madness. Black Friday, gifts, things…things to try and make up for our lack of presence, our blindness to true gifts…just being, loving, caring. Hardness replaces the vulnerable softness of true love’s risk. Frantic schedules to bake, shop, wrap, decorate, invite, hostess, all while the monotony of making a living still clamors for our attention like a bell tolling the noon hour. What do you want for Christmas? This is the common question tongues refrain. Not Who? Tears push up from my heart where Messiah lives and sends them down, like spring run-off, my cheeks. Lights go up to clarify darkness. Its been too long Adonai? Mayhap You have no meaning here. Sorrow sings my soul. Do You join me? Oh, let me hear the ring of silver bells tinkle and smell the lavender of Your Announcer tonite! Resound the Hark of Angels singing again!

Let the stars spin and fling about like dancers at the laughter of His heart! Light up the earth as a giant Birthday candle…remembering His birth! Oh, Holy Spirit move among the inhabitants of the earth! That they may know!! Cease all transaction that takes away from You! Give us eyes to SEE, to simply look at those You love and call our gifts unwrapped in the unblinding of our eyes! Give us courage to speak of the only words worth repeating at this time! Unto us a Child is born, a Savior is given, a promise kept by a Loving Father!
Let us hear Heaven sing; Victory!

Its been so long. Ears are deaf, eyes are dull, hearts are crowded with illusions once again! Come now again O Gift of Life and light up our understanding! May we find You again, so real, so human, so humble, so entrusted to us the untrustworthy! What a miracle! Emmanuel, God with us! Be the Star again! Oh, hear the cries of Your people! Come again, make us new! Come Adonai, Yeshua, Messiah, Savior, Lamb, Bright Morning Star, Strength of Righteousness, Son of God, come again! For the sake of Your Great Name, be Glorified! Take our eyes off the emptiness we hold onto, fill us up, O Living Water! Come, and fill our thirsty souls!

Its been two days, a thousand years is like one day to You! Its been no time at all to You! Give us eyes to see!  Hold us in Your eternal perspective! It was just yesterday that You drew Your first earth-bound human breath! You burped, You coo’ed! You needed human hands to hold You! Hold us now in Yours! Yeshua, Son of I Am!

Here I Am

October 21, 2012 at 4:52 am (Poems) (, , , , , , , , , )

Use me as You will Adonai!
Make me ever after the Apple of Your eye
Cup my ear to hear You
Apply Your voice within
And choose to use this broken child that You have brought back in

Open up these windows
That You have made as eyes Brighten every shadow
Teach them how to cry
Point them ever outward
To where Your Love employs
And sight me down Your barrel of grace and love and joy

Here I am Your child
Here is all You made
A vessel of no shadows
Because Yeshua bade
His honorable arms have plucked me
O hear His cry for me
To count my hairs and clothe these scars
Through all Eternity!

Silent Scream

April 6, 2011 at 9:38 pm (Poems) (, , , , , , , )

Oh Lord – You know…

The pulse of my desolation

The memory of this melancholy mind

The echoes of emptiness and tenacity of exposure

The grapple of each search seemingly turned up hollow

The writhe of outcry between blinding sorrow and aching ecstasy

The drip and slow bleed of this flesh-fought war

The arduous depletion of heart to exhume just one more dead existence from my soul

For only You have ears that hear this silent scream

Born in the betrayal of death

Kept on life-support even in the two-faced ache of love

That lives to die in expectation

Only You know the language of this silent scream

The tear-stained garment of letting go

The blood-soaked tourniquet of stopping the bleed-out of despondency

All held in Your hands – do our voices join Yours?

Are you the Author of the Silent Scream?

Written in some ancient language that only the stars know

The wordless, indefinable, unspeakable croak

Translated in Heavenly discourse as a prayer

Only You – the first Author – can discern and answer

Oh Lord, hear this deafening silent scream

And send Your answer into the unheard claim

With just the brush of Your Breath upon the surface of its skin

The Voice of Creator begins again
