Chasing Chesed (Mercy)

November 12, 2014 at 1:37 am (Mile Stones, Remodeling the Mind, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Matthew 5:7,10

How blessed are those who show mercy! For they will be shown (given eyes to see, a heart to give) mercy.

How blessed are those who are persecuted because they pursue righteousness (chase mercy)! For the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. (Now and forever)

On a tombstone somewhere in the holy land the inscription reads that the one for which the grave serves as a resting place; that they spent much of life under the oppression of persecution but after having been freed from Auschwitz-Birkenau they spent the rest of their life chasing Chesed.  Chesed is the Hebrew word for mercy, release from judgement, forgiveness granted without delay, and without need for retribution.

It strikes me as something of a mystery that one who suffers and could thereby live their life in bitterness or reclusion due to such torture at the hand of mankind’s cruelty; would spend their life chasing mercy.

Well, it’s not so much a mystery to me because of Yeshua (Jesus) who Is Chesed. But it stops one in their tracks and makes you want to take notice at least a little, right? My guess is much like one did with Yeshua Himself – still does.

We spend so much time trying to dissect and minimize our sufferings. Countless hours in therapy, and so much wasted breath pushing air in and out attempting to discern “who errored” ourselves, others or even God when suffering happens to us. I find this usually points to the severity of the suffering. Not to minimize anyone’s suffering, but here in the USA, we have very little concept of it really. Mostly the suffering that is not called suffering in Biblical terms but really just the way of life; loss of life, financial hardships, illness, etc. The suffering of such as those who are beaten repeatedly and made to slave in working conditions that would and is designed to kill even the hardiest human. .. this is an American unknown. The Auschwitz kind of suffering leaves no room for one to assign blame and manipulate how they can use their victimology to evade life more. They dont expect to see the “end” of it. Something happens inside the womb of this kind of suffering that gives birth to a new creature much like Yeshua speaks of in being born again. Chasing mercy. .. chasing… running after… the art of forgiving. Looking for places to forgive; people to forgive or asking the Father to forgive…every minute of every day. Instead of looking for offense, looking for how ones rights are being violated, usurped, taken. What do we really have a “right” to? Given by God Almighty?

Mercy to receive from Him.
And if received to be given away just as He has given.

Waking up everyday to “put on our running shoes” to give mercy, live mercy, be merciful, receive mercy from God. Chasing Chesed. Not walking towards it… but running. Like a child chases a butterfly until they catch it. Having caught it they cup it into their hands and run to show mom or dad…”Look! Look what I caught!”

My life has seen such an absence of even normal life suffering. My loved ones have mostly died of old age. The ones that haven’t I was not really close to or did not know well due to the fact that I was so young when they died. Illness has not found its lethal teeth among my family or friends. Hardships in life all normal and mostly consequential. Hard, yes but hardly the Auschwitz kind. Yet all this in review and pulled under a scrutinized thumb has still produced a chasing Chesed heart in me. How can this be?

There’s a stigma in christianity that seems to go like this. The more one suffers the better, stronger and more holy they are. I think this is sideways a bit. It’s what we do with whatever suffering God sets before someone that dictates how strong He becomes in them. Putting suffering on a scales in human measure is tantamount to judgement. Everything that causes one to reach out and say “I can’t do this without You God!” – this is what comes under the heading of character building, persevering, soul climbing out of this world and into Abba’s lap stuff. Degrees to suffering is pointless. Throw out the scales. God is the only One who can measure.

What makes you chase Chesed?
What makes you want to give it out like candy? What makes you yearn to forgive and see others forgiven? What makes you cast away any concept of offense? What makes you willing to give up on having “rights” instead of protesting to have more?

For within the bound of this kind of thinking; sufferings have a new name – Joy. Not happy, smiley, warm and fuzzy, giddy emotions. But deep well, beyond the tears that cascade from your soul because He lives – Joy. His will be done – Joy. The Lord gives and He takes – Joy. It is as He wills – Joy. Nothing is loss – Joy. His presence is all that I need – Joy. Indeed we can be wretched and twisted in pain and approach the Throne of heaven with this Joy. Not pastey, grin and bear it, put on a good face, pull yourself up by the bootstrap foolishness. But a real human being full of all its strengths and weakness, scorning the shame of its fallen nature but rising up with Yeshua from the grave that wins the victory – humbly but boldly crawling into the lap of the Father for every need and want and desire. Joy. Chasing Chesed is the key to this mystery.

These are the shoes of readiness spoken of in the armory closet we are instructed to put on every day. Not preaching the Gospel… but living it. Chasing Chesed.

What do you chase?

God’s Care

October 21, 2014 at 12:43 am (Thoughts to Ponder, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , )

A nurse in a hospital could testify/witness to the Masterfulness of God’s careful attention of us. Words can not touch the detail of His care. If the nurse has 10 patients to care for; and each patient’s state is in need but not critical – they would find themselves with a full load of nurture and tasks to keep them busy for a full shift. Let all 10 patients become critical at once – and nurse must call for help; they simply could not tend to each in such a state by themselves.

Witness: words or actions that speak from experience (living action within).
Testify: words that recount what one has seen or observed.
God’s intent is to make us witnesses to the testimony we have heard.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob; Adonai, Elohim, Jehovah – He tends to each and every living thing with such detail and in every state of being. Let that sink in a bit.

Each – and – every – livingthing; stars, grass, weeds, bushes, trees, air, roots, every creature – airborne/waterborne/land-dwellers, crawling, creeping, running, leaping, burrowing, flying, nesting, hunting. Then each child – each human – which He claims as His special work of art. Billions upon billions in “critical condition” – all individually with exacting care. He is the first to notice a need and sends forth the remedy without delay.

Here is the most astounding thing to me. When He meets one individual need, it fulfills the needs of everyone that one effects – everything that one effects. Spirit and soul care is a Divine Job, and only the Kingdom of Heaven can dispatch its nurture. The task of physical and emotional needs are the easiest of task to God. He can use all people (whether they believe in Him or not) to tend anything or anyone. I, Lisa, a servant of Jehovah, by the grace of Yeshua (Jesus), in the strength of the Spirit testify and witness to these things.

The next time worry or stewing over a need comes – read again the words of witness that speak of why worry and stewing are thieves of His Joy.
(Ps. 148; Ps. 145; Ps. 136; Ps. 68:19-20; Ps. 65:9-13; Ps. 104:19; Gen. 8:22; Dan. 2:20-22; Jer. 5:24; Matt. 5:44-48; John 1:1-5; Acts 14-17; Col. 1:17)

Before the words form upon our lips- He knows each care. His dispatch is assured and precise. Ask immediately to have your eyes opened to His special touch. Look at Yeshua – who being ignored, ridiculed, tortured and broken – knew the Father was meeting an un-countable unfathomable number of needs – soul needs – at every moment. Covering each sin with the agony and blood of His Son – for all time. Let that sink in. In those moments… all of heaven was stretching the most crucial of care – forward and backward in time making eternity possible for the finite. Sin and all its effects are now under the dominion of Yeshua. We could literally lose every ability within our human bodies – but that one cure can never be compared. Hence we are whole.
He is called the Great Physician – but we must take out the image of a human doctor from our minds to fully understand what makes Him great. No human doctor holds the cure to anything. God may use them in His dispatch but they are as susceptible to those diseases and illnesses as the patient he or she treats. God will never “catch a cold”. His exposure to Ebola or any form of fleshly decay heals the very nature of its mission. It is humanly impossible to even imagine such power. Yet, we can “see” it – have seen it. Always when Yeshua healed someone physically – He first had to cure their inner blindness to the real disease that ate at them. When suffering and hardship comes upon us – our greatest vulnerability is always inner blindness. A sort of leprosy of soul. That which shrinks God down into the smallness of our vision, our limitations, our incompleteness. Us without Him – the opposite of His Name – God with us; Emmanuel. God can start a car without an engine; no gas. God can heal a wound by infecting it. God can change all the “rules” we live by and turn them inside out and make them more effective. In His Kingdom – gravity pulls everything to Him – up, down, side to side, wherever He is that is where “the drop” is. We live forever in Him because He makes all things new. This word – new – means something not known before – new; undiscovered, now dis-covered. Not new as in an old car verses a new car. He can make an old car new. Not by hours of labor replacing old parts persay. By one thought from His mind restoring years of old living into the undecayable – unrustable – never to break or run out of gas again – NEW!

It says He does this with His mercy. Ponder that with Him – and let Him open your eyes to the amazing NEW world you have been reborn into. His Love is a faithfulness outlined in grace. His healing is Forgiveness inviting us to His place.

Lamentations 3:21-23
But in my mind I keep returning to something, something that gives me hope – that the grace of Adonai is not exhausted, that His compassion has not ended. On the contrary, they are new every morning! How great Your faithfulness!

Isaiah 33:2
Adonai, show us mercy; We have waited for You. Be their arm every morning, and our salvation in time of trouble.

Zephaniah 3:5
Adonai, who is righteous, is there among them; He never does anything wrong. Every morning He renders His judgment, every morning without fail; yet the wrong doer knows no shame.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19
Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation – the old has passed; look, what’s come is fresh and new! And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to Himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation, which is that God in the Messiah was reconciling mankind to Himself, not counting their sins against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

Hebrews 12:27-29
And this phrase, “one more time”, makes clear that the things shaken are removed, since they are created things, so that the things not shaken may remain. Therefore, since we have received an unshakable Kingdom, let us have grace, through which we may offer service that will please God.

Revelation 21:5
Then the One sitting on the Throne said, “Look! I am making everything new!”

Miraculous Mercy

April 7, 2014 at 11:14 am (Devotionals, Poems, Prayers, Psalms, Songs, Thoughts to Ponder) (, , , , , , , )

I bet You…I believe…
Yeshua (Jesus) Yeshua You Prayed…
I bet You prayed for each of us
Each of us with every breath
While You…You
Yeshua Yeshua hung upon the cross
Each name spoken full of Your love
As You…You…
Yeshua…sweet Yeshua counted nothing
Nothing against us
Taking it all…All the revile
All the contest of will
As Your blood…Your blood spilled
Full of pain…You inhaled chesed (mercy)
Exhaled grace for every face You painted…You shaped
I bet You…You
prayed for each soul
At the very moment when each soul rejected You
Each one hammered a nail
Each dropped a lash upon Your flesh
Each called You anything but good
I know You…You
Yeshua…Salvation still pray
You still pray for each face
Unforgotten by the Unforgetable
The Never-ending cry…
Father, forgive!
Each breath infused with pain…soaked in chesed (mercy)
Yeshua…Yeshua…You I bet..
I believe You still pray
And You are answered!
You rise! You… I bet…Yeshua
I believe You!
Are arisin’. Alive…and still praying..
Father, forgive!
