Hidden Blessing

The blessedness of life is that we can hide nothing from God. If we could hide anything from God, that hidden thing would by and by, turn into a terrible disease. It is the sight of God that keeps and makes things clean.
– George MacDonald

It is only when we have no habit of exposure, confessing, and revealing that makes the thought of it so fearful. The world teaches how to mask our weaknesses so they appear as strength, play the victim to life while we hide behind that instead of admit our own choices or limitations. When the soul can run to God first, with passion for Him to gaze upon our deepest vulnerabilities, confessing and conversing with Him, then there is no real need to hide from anyone else. The scripture that says we are hidden in Messiah in God is so profound! Yet it truly just repeats the simple truth, Yeshua’s blood covers us, enabling us to stand before the Father. It hides the sin and unrighteousness of our own choices and allows His clean soul to overlap ours! May we all take such an attitude about not hiding from God as truth to put action into, a blessing, blessing blessing!

The Seed

September 25, 2014 at 11:26 pm (Mile Stones, Remodeling the Mind, Thoughts to Ponder) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

I was running errands today listening to the radio and heard the most amazing analogy. They were talking about seeds. How we can learn so much from them. The commentator first spoke of how small seeds are. Most seeds are very small. They mentioned how Yeshua (Jesus) mentioned the mustard seed as an example. (A very small seed indeed). He could have used any seed in His creation. ..a pumpkin seed for example. .. much larger in size; but He chose the mustard seed, and God never says anything without huge and multifaceted significance.

At this point the Spirit “took over” and the commentary ran in the background while He spoke to my heart. How little and tiny; almost hardly worth recognizing the mustard seed is. Yet it does grow into a huge fixture in a garden. What it takes for God to work in us amounts to what we often over look as insignificant. Or daily little comings and goings. .. duties. .. chores. The simple act of greeting someone. .. stopping to go and welcome a loved one home. And then He showed me a real kicker.

We often know in our heads how much sleeping is a “good thing”… we even look forward to a good night’s rest. But we often discount how God works in it. Namely because we do so little but surrender to our exhausted bodies! Sleep is a mustard seed. ..

Again I was drawn back into the radio program. Now they were speaking about the planting of a seed. How it goes into the dark, dirty soil and is covered up by more dark and dirty soil to start to germinate.

image

Again, with my mouth dropping at the profoundly new perspective I was beginning to see; the radio tuned into a back channel and the Spirit ran out in front of my car and said, “Follow Me”. I was fixed upon His knee.

We too often think God comes to a clean place. .. Instead of to come clean a place. The difference is huge. We can be so distracted by “cleaning ourselves up” or prepping our own soil. .. that we are blind to the heavy yoke we choose instead of the one Yeshua invited us to take upon our shoulders. While we were yet sinners. .. Christ died for us! He was planted into our dark and dirty hearts! The producing of fruit is all His work. Done under ground if you will, where we think He does not go. .. dark and dirty. .. buried and dead. .. yet brimming with Life potential because He died and went into that very dead darkness to “fertilize” those places where death reigned with His Work on the Cross. We must allow Him to work in those dark and dirty places… Those are why He is here. .. why He came. .. it is the Kingdom work. Just like when we sleep. .. In a darkened room without any voluntary cooperation seemingly on our part. .. but we surrender to the process. .. Christ comes into our hearts and we need only rest and watch and wait to see how He expertly turns the dark dirty soil into food and nutrients to form the new creature He is making. He takes this seemingly small seed of our trust (because we all know how “big” this seed really is) and makes such a plant, such a creation! It fairly made me want to dump all my dark and dirty parts right out into the seat I was sitting in! I was so amazed at Adonai. .. and His amazing works. I felt like David. .. unable to keep the praise and worship from rolling out of my heart! Listing from one thing to another all the deeds He does that makes Him so great! All of the sudden I was running errands of His glory instead of the silly list for my silly house and duties.

image

There was nothing especially new in what I was hearing today. I just leap and jump and praise and shout how God reflects everything He has purposed to do in us in everything He has ever done! There is no place we can’t find Him. .. proving, proving, proving to us His Love and trustworthiness! I love it! I went out to “run errands” and He ran one too! Right here inside my dark and dirty heart showing me where He has made a bloom that reaches up to His Light from those dark and dirty places and makes things new!

image

In further study and research I “stumbled” onto this blog and found the best seed study I’ve ever seen. It’s got 12 parts. .. but it’s worth every second of time! For those who live to “dig deep”… this will make you grow!

Battle Tactics from Yeshua

August 19, 2014 at 2:10 pm (Remodeling the Mind, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , )

Mark 1:23-28

In their synagogue just then was a man with an unclean spirit in him, who shouted, “What do You want with us, Yeshua from Natzeret (Jesus from Nazareth)? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are – the Holy One of God!” But Yeshua rebuked the unclean spirit, “Be quiet and come out of him!” Throwing the man into a convulsion, it gave a loud shriek and came out of him. They were all so astounded that they began asking each other, “What is this? A new teaching, one with authority behind it! He gives orders even to the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!” And the news about Him spread quickly through the whole region of the Galil (Galilee).

See here we can see a tactic of God and the enemy. What God wants for a time to remain quiet or secret the enemy’s tactic is to reveal and shout at the top of his lungs -even if it’s God’s very name! Likewise what God would have revealed, the enemy then seeks to submerge and distort! In this particular time. .. it was the Fathers will that Yeshua come in quietly and keep the focus on the work with His people before the “powers that be” took notice. So the enemy sought to reveal in advanced. Also notice, the enemy obeyed Yeshua, but fought all the way. Our enemy will not relent. .. but must at last yield… but he will go attempting to tear apart the room as he goes. This is a war. .. and the enemy is determined not to leave any “spoils” in his wake. Yeshua took this seriously. We must learn from Him. .. and all we need to do so is right in these four gosples… within each and every line of Yeshua’s works and words.

So how do we apply this to today, now, in our times. It’s quite simple. The enemy now seeks only to submerge. .. depress… distort that Yeshua is here, alive and King. So we are to shout like John the Baptist, given just a few short sentences prior to the Scripture above; shout. .. “turn to God from your sins! Be made clean by Yeshua’s blood!”  Our “tactic” is to make way to allow God to do His work. So. ..our shouting, speaking, proclaiming in effect “makes a way” for Adonai to enter in. How different that perspective can make us when we see that sharing Yeshua in all things with everyone we know makes such an impact on the front lines of Yeshua/God’s invasion across enemy lines!

Also note: an unclean spirit often gets defined as ‘demon possessed’. Caution. .. any spirit which is considered unclean is simply a spirit that has not been cleaned, washed, renewed by God. When I become argumentative and defensive. .. My spirit is unclean. When sarcasm and cynicism invade my thoughts first and then my speech. .. My spirit is in need of cleansing. We often make the works of the enemy far more powerful than they are and paint a picture of the worst debasement when in fact it’s far less complex and a simple need to turn from those things unclean to God is the ointment needed to heal the spirit within. David was never demon possessed yet he asked the Lord to renew a right or clean spirit within him. (Psalm 51:10)

So here is our basic training ground: our minds, our spirits within. Discerning, with the help of the Holy Spirit, where our unclean spirits need to be told to turn to God and claim Yeshua’s forgiveness and then we take action to do the opposite of what we were doing in the power of that unclean spirit. We take note of it and ask Adonai (the Lord) to renew a correct spirit within us. In essence we turn from our sins to God. Simple…yes. Easy…no. We have an enemy who will stop at nothing to dull our minds and spirits to the need for inner correction! If he can stop us there. .. then we can not shout to others in pointing to Yeshua. Know thy God and He will teach you how to deal with the enemy! For that enemy is first and last God’s enemy… this is why he is ours. Satan is no enemy but a friend to those who have no “turn signals” towards heaven!

Forgive and Forget

April 29, 2013 at 3:27 am (Remodeling the Mind) (, , , , , , , , , , )

image

Our nature is full of backwards intuition; most of our lives we would rather forget there is something to forgive. ~ L. R. V.

As far back as my mind can go into my tiny little thing called history; I can remember always hoping that my sins would not be found out. I would hope that broken cup would gather dust in the back of a cabinet never to betray me in announcing my “cover up”. The actual breaking of the cup was not injurious, I had not meant to break it. But the act of believing it better to hide the mistake rather than stay fully and openly exposed to my tendency to unwittingly fail; this became my sin. No one taught me to resent the feeling of exposure, it came all by itself. A dog who peed on the rug, will give itself away by behaving “guilty” even after its dried and the owner would likely not have known right away; but for its sulking behavior. Oh that we would just be willing to “give ourselves away”! The desire to hide comes from our deepest ancestory…all the way back to Adam and Eve. What human kind has done to try to extricate the conscience is truly amazing! Yet God, in His mercy, gave us our conscience to make exposure safe, secure and powerless! He knows, if we fully understood that our sins have been removed, then “cup breaking” would not feel tragic. Yet there is only one place in all creation we can go to know what He knows – naked, fully exposed in His ever loving, forgiving arms. I am sure my folks would not have felt hurt over the broken cup, the cover up, however hurt them. Trust is a tricky concept! The human brain does not come by wisdom without the Light of God, we hide, He seeks, we lie and justify, He pours out the truth through our conscience. What a gift! He is softly relentless, the heaviness we feel is our own need to carry the burden. The longer we carry, the heavier the burden; the heavier the burden the more we scrape to forget the cure. What a divinely amazing Love that we can not forget we need forgiveness! And the instant we are willing to come forth, He forgets the sin we had been trying to get ourselves to forget on by hiding! He gives the thing we want the most by our open admittance to the wretchedness we feel!

O conscience! Do not heed thy voice! Listen instead to the skeins of Light of your exposure! Especially in what you perceive as the smallest offense and so easiest to be left unremarked! For the One who placed you here within this remarkable vessel stands ready for all He see’s! Love lavishes the clean conscience, it is at its fullest to unrest you until you bring it out for the dusting! Miracle of God, that You will not forget to remind me only You can forget! Forget not the mercies of a God who can pour out into the sea of forgetfulness by the persistence to bathe in the blood of the Son. Dive in and resist your natural instincts O my soul! For the Lord of your making holds you in tenderness at all times, tender to bruise, tender to heal. His most lavish gifts are “hidden” in exposure! Rejoice then that He does not forget that His mercy and grace are the “reminders” of His reckoning! O, my soul fall into the Arms that catch you!

Romans 2:4

Or perhaps you despise the riches of His kindness, forbearance and patience; because you don’t realize that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to to turn from your sins.

Exodus 34:6

Adonai (the Lord) passed before him and proclaimed: “Adonai is God, merciful and compassionate, slow to anger, rich in grace and truth; showing grace to the thousandth generation, forgiving offenses, crimes and sins; yet not exonerating the guilty, but causing the negative effects of the parents’ offenses to be experienced by their children and grandchildren, and even by the third and fourth generations.

Psalms 31:19-20

But oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You do for those who take refuge in you, before people’s very eyes!
In the shelter of Your presence You hide them from human plots, You conceal them in Your shelter, safe from contentious tongues.

Ephesians 1:7-8

In union with Him, through the shedding of His blood, we are set free – our sins are forgiven; this accords with the wealth of the grace He has lavished on us.

Revelations 2:21

I gave her time to turn from her sin, but she doesn’t want to repent of her immortality.

Psalms 138:8

Adonai will fulfill His purpose for me. Your grace, Adonai, continues forever. Don’t abandon the work of Your hands!
