Food Facts #1

Did you know…

That avocatoes boost your metabolism for 24-48 hours? Eating one a day is the equivalent of walking briskly for 3 miles! Yep, if you’re looking for a food that can do for you without you doing any heavy lifting, this is your chance! They contain the highest amounts of healthy fats in a vegetable. (Yes, your body was designed by God to need fats). They have what is called omega fats. Omega fats are not stored in the body, but used in each of your systems to produce the “fruit” of good energy and mental clarity. God created your body to store the other kinds of fat found in meat, dairy, and sugar foods for a rainy day or lean times. Skip back to the past, before grocery stores. (Believe it or not more time has ticked off the wheel without grocery stores than with) There were what they call lean times, during winter and non-growing seasons, that created the need for this mechanism in our bodies. God has always known what He was doing 😉 Sadly, we no longer have these times, hence the reason all that fat gets “stored-up” but never turned into the ‘extra meal’ lean times required of us. These extra fats now go to that storage area, but get too full and your body sends them into systems that were never designed by God to handle. Cancer feeds off of and lives in these stored fats – but sugar is its favorite food!

Avocados actually help your body get rid of these stored fats, like a friend who comes and helps you find your way home. They escort the useless fat to the waste systems by boosting your metabolism to burn off all that extra. Like calls to like, and avocado fats know the bad fats’ language, but gently advocates for your health, convincing those fats they really don’t want to live where they cause death in the body.

They are creamy and full of vitamins and minerals too! , (Thanks to that seed inside) It’s good for everything! There is not one thing that these little cups of health don’t do to help you up the health-o-meter! (Unless, of course, you are allergic to them. In such a case, I offer my profound condolences!) Avocados are one of the most amazing creations of God’s table. They make great snacks, and can be added to almost anything as a nice addition to any meal. Why not start putting these tasty little buggers to work in your body now?

A recipe is forth coming for a double bang for your ‘body-bucks’ with avocados.
Stay tuned…

What Women Want ~ Part 5 ~ Mothers

February 13, 2013 at 1:42 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , )

Deuteronomy 4:10

The day you stood before Adonai (the Lord) your God at Horev, when Adonai said to me, ‘Gather the people to Me, and I will make them hear My very words, so that they will learn to hold Me in awe as long as they live on earth, and so that they will teach their children.’

I must confess this is one of the hardest What Women Want parts I have studied, been in Abba’s counsel of and now share here. I covered in detail the more personal reasons why in the Interlude (What Women Want ~ Interlude). The less personal is that it shows how glaringly we as women have missed the “mark” of one of the most significant calls to women by God, to be mothers. Or better put teachers of children. Make no mistake; men and women are called to be such but as women in the original design by God were to take the majority role due to the amount of time we spend with children. It does not matter if you are a mother right now, or have children at home; if you exist you teach children via example if nothing else. Be it your children or other children, we can not escape that we will and do influence them. Children are watching, watching everyone they see, and whether they realize it yet or not they are “taking notes”. So this post is not just for those who are mothers with children currently residing with them, but all women.

The subjective verb here is: teach. From the very beginning God made it a clear command and direction that we are to teach, what He taught us, and never waiver in this commission lest we be the fall of future generations. Renouncing and turning away from the blessings His teachings provide. Protection, security, provision, and purpose. The word that best describes our failure in this commission is: compromise.
Compromise only happens when one stops believing the truth, adopts a lie, and follows it with actions. The truth that ceased to be believed is no single little one but very simply put; we stopped trusting in God, Gods ways, Gods direction. The lie adopted? Nothing new under the sun here, we adopted what the world dictated our roles should be; due to money, self image, and basically we said “Hey God doesn’t give us enough purpose at home, men don’t respect us at home, the world requires more money than a man  can provide, so we women must conform.”
All the while we make excuses for how the community will deal with our absence in it, our homes, our hearts. Its no easy thing to admit, but there it is as simply put as can be.

What are these things God said that point so glaringly to our failure?
(Please note while the “title” to the referrence doesn’t say “God said”, if its the truth, good, worthy He alone is their Author. Man can not devise or think up those things on their own.)

Titus 2:3-5

Likewise, tell the older women to behave the way people leading a holy life should. The shouldn’t be slanderers or slaves to excessive drinking. They should teach what is good, thus training the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to take good care of their homes and submit to their husbands. In this way, God’s message will not be brought into disgrace.

Proverbs 31:20; 26-27

She reaches out to embrace the poor and opens her arms to the needy.

When she opens her mouth, she speaks wisely; on her tongue is loving instruction.
She watches how things go in her house not eating the bread of idleness.

I have purposely not put all the usual “suspects” for scripture down especially the famous Proverbs 31:10-31, as it usually is used by most to exemplify a “Godly Woman”. It has been said before, a thousand ways and the truth is every woman must take Proverbs 31, sit at Jesus’ feet and say “What does this really mean? How do You, my Lord, want to apply this to me? What does all these words mean? Wool and flax? Merchant vessels? Fields, buying, planting, vineyards? Business affairs? Staff with the flax, spinning rods? They sound like “outside” the home type things, what am I missing?” I guarantee you if you, yourself ask Him, Himself, you will never read Proverbs 31 the same again! No one can say they have been taught any word from Scripture until they – themselves have sat alone and taken notes from the Author Himself and come away with both the truth and a education that can only come from being taught by God, whose ways and thoughts are not like ours.

In short we live in a world that has given our roles and purpose to the government, church, and other institutions deciding money and self earned respect was more important. Then we rage at the government and institutions for boxing up the “job” of helping the needy and poor, AND teaching our children lies and doing a un-commendable job at it at that! Just because your taxes pay for education, God if nothing else, promised it will NEVER buy what’s valuable…the truth.

What do I mean?

From pre-school to College they teach that God is not the Author, Inventor, Originator, and Designer of people, places, things, the sky they see both day and night, the very earth that holds them. They not only teach this lie, but they do it with cunning precision! Where do your children get their education?

Churches teach be “good” and do all the “good” things your mommies and daddies do. Huh, well meaning, but misses the mark by a land-slide! (Some churches may be exceptional, but have you sat in on their classes? What are they being taught?) Would this not come under the heading of “she watches how things go in her house”? Its astounding how many parents drop their kids off at “sunday school” and assume they are being taught the truth. We avoid teaching what we ourselves avoid being taught; or at least what we fear we must earn the “right” to teach.

Take the various methods of home entertainment. God says its what comes out of a person that defiles them. Do we know what is being taught to our kids, subliminally on TV, Internet, and gaming machines? Is it not true that the best lie is a seemingly “harmless” one. Have you sat and played their games with them asking God to show you what He sees when the images and themes come into your field of processing? Have you taken His counsel on how to guide your children? What makes Him uncomfortable is a gift that He would make us uncomfortable too! How often are we too tired to watch how things go in our house? Humility is retired avoidance in this case. We humbly retire from our avoidance, admitting that its not our children we don’t want to teach, its ourselves we don’t want to learn. We can not teach what we ourselves have no intention of practicing. Believe it or not, our children could teach us a great deal about how well we point them to The Teacher if we have eyes to see. For this – this is the ultimate lesson: Who we are teaching can teach them best, no matter what they see elsewhere. Who is the Lifetime Trustworthy Teacher of ALL things! Who they are created for, we are created for and everything was created for. How He sees everything and what He says we/our children should do with it.

There are those who argue that we can’t protect our kids from the “realities of the world”. I say, “Would you run and protect them from an on-coming car?” Then why in the Name of the One who is good and trustworthy would you not protect them as long as you have the influence to do so from the Mac-truck of lies of this world as long as God gives the ability to you? Would it not be better that they go into the world when they launch with the strength of as much Truth as He can give them so that they will be mortified at the lies themselves? God tells us to teach them what He says, but He alone will carry them all their life long into the Truth. The truth is our teaching them is as much of the learning of it for us as for them! We never “graduate” from the most basic and fundamentle lessons about our Lord! Repetition only keeps teaching; brings new light to the “ground once covered”; gives another perspective on how deep God goes! And He is the very definition of Depth! This is why we do as He says in Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Sh’ma, Yisra’el! Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad (Hear, Israel! Adonai our God, Adonai is one); and you are to love Adonai your God with all you heart, all your being and all your resources. These words, which I Am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them on your hand as a sign, put them at the front of a headband around your forehead, and write them on the door-frames of your house and on your gates.

Sounds like we are to be rather “excessive”! Yet, this world is no less committed to its excess in the opposite direction. Now listen to what God says 10 verses later.

Deuteronomy 6:20-25

Someday your child will ask you, ‘What is the meaning of the instructions, laws and rulings which Adonai our God has laid down for you?’ Then you will tell your child, ‘We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Adonai brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand. Adonai worked great and terrible signs and wonders against Egypt, Pharaoh and all his household, before our very eyes. He brought us out from there in order to bring us to the land He has sworn to our ancestors that He would give us. Adonai ordered us to observe all the laws to fear Adonai God, always for our own good, so that He might keeps us alive, as we are today. It will be righteousness for us if we are careful to obey all these instructions before Adonai our God, just as He ordered us to do.‘”

Does this sound too “old testamenty” to you? Let me translate.

One day your children will ask, ‘Whats the meaning of this man named Jesus who came and taught the words of the One He calls Father?’ Then you will tell them, ‘We were slaves to sin and the evil one who rules in it, and by Gods strong right hand He sent Jesus to do great work and die and deal with the evil one, sin, and all its household in a human we could see with our own eyes. By His death and Rising again He brought us out of sin’s bondage to bring us to the place He swore Abraham, Isaac and Jacob way back in the beginning. So now we keep these instructions of God and His Son Jesus to know and obey His voice and Jesus’ work will be righteousness for us if we listen and obey Him before Adonai our God, just as He ordered us to do.'”

For we are the sheep of His pasture, the sheep in His care…He will teach and lead and guide those who follow Him there.

What Women Want ~ Part 1

October 6, 2012 at 2:59 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

It is a great honor for the Child of God, when all his enemies can say is, “He will not do as we do.”
~ William Gurnall

This chant is almost the proverbial repetitious song of the world. It is said when anyone does not go with the flow, meet the ideals and expectations, either within the individual or the masses.
It screams at any who dare challenge the soul for not doing that which they do. Be it society’s latest fad, or that which they have been attempting to conform one into for years. An example:

Anything which falls under these headings:
Women’s Lib
Women’s Rights
Equal Rights

The woman who does not: A) work at least part time even though they have a full time calling to their spouse, children, and community. This is what God clearly called and created them to do best. Yet women decided that to be “as good as any man” she would change her own destiny. This comes under the cloak of lies that this was the answer to male abusive dominance and unfair treatment. Do your own research, you will find that throughout the word of God the home and community was the gifting God gave women to work in. And the erroneous origin begins as stated above.

I am not saying its a sin for a woman to work! I am saying it can be if its at the expense of her 1st call. Let examine for a minute some facts.
1) There would be more jobs for men, paid at better wages if women allowed them to act within their gifting. (See Genesis 1-3).
2) Child-care expenses would no longer be a need in “the budget”.
3) 90% of child related misbehavior and decline in responsibility can be traced back to no parents at home “syndrome”. Lets face it ladies, we are the ones that left.
Do a research and find out the inevitable consequence of the break down in children coincidently starts with Women’s Liberation. Its a startling realization if you are brave enough to face it. Humbling. Here all this time men have been the blame. No wonder there are so few men of integrity to be found these days. The roles got so confused and outright abandoned our young women strive to make the same mistakes, and our young men are reduced to accept their lack of purpose. Believe it or not, God said “It is good.” for a man to go out and provide for his family. Not easy, as it was also part of his curse to struggle with it. Hence He may find he can not without Gods help!
Lets take a look at another part of the “curse”, though I prefer consequence as a better definition.

Genesis 3:16
To the woman He said, “I will greatly increase your pain in childbirth. You will bring forth children in pain. Your desire will be toward your husband, but he will rule over you.

Part of Gods plan? You decide.
Its all so messed up now, one may ask “How in heavens name do we go back?”
Great question. One right action, choice, and obedience at a time. There are so many single moms now, she has no choice but to work.
This issue is now so full of spider webs its hardly spoken of, especially in the Body of Christ. And then only carefully “suggested” not taught as Truth. Its downright worldly. Everybody is doing it now, its the “norm”, there’s no going back! This is the mantra. No! Doing the right thing, that being, doing things the way God said because He designed things to work best a certain way, this is always a choice each individual can make everyday, whether anyone else agrees or encourages it or not. This is the essence of living what you say you believe. Oh, you’ll get flack for it, mocked, shunned, ignored, disowned, rejected, and ridiculed. People won’t “respect” you. Question now is how respectable is what people call respectable now? Who defines words like respect, love, trust, faithfulness and honor for you?

Its a tough subject and with no clear cut answers for “solving the problem” except to say; “Turn now back to the Creator and obey, depend on Him to show you how” To be frank, this is not a “skill set” taught and hasn’t been, nor exampled, the issue gets shot down as “not that cut and dry, too complicated” thus ignored.

I’ll be the egg-head to say it. Let God do with it as He will. The lions den is nothing compared to the loss of right relationship with my Master and Lord! No one will be found “burning in hell” for speaking the Truth. Or living it. Quite the opposite; though I don’t hold to the same concept of hell as most.

True women of God, do all things as He teaches and guides. True women of God encourage men to do the same. No matter what the apparent “cost” is to go against the flow, whether in small things or giant, seemingly insurmountable. I haven’t read of or heard of, nor personally experienced any of those above as outside Gods ability to stand in the gap in abundance.

Does it make it easy? No, but the “payoff” is beyond words, better than a larger bank account and more “respect” from people. Not easy, very misunderstood, often lonely in the sense of true friends, but definitely better in the peace that surpasses understanding department.

Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t worry about anything: on the contrary, make your request known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then God’s shalom (peace), passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ).

Proverbs 3:1-8
My son, don’t forget my teaching, keep my commands in your heart; for they will add to you many days, years of life and peace. Do not let grace and truth leave you – bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and esteem in the sight of God and of people. Trust in Adonai (the Lord) with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him; then He will level your paths. Don’t be conceited about your own wisdom but fear Adonai, and turn from evil. This will bring health to your body and give strength to your bones.

More and more these days I see the slow erosion of hope. In women for good men, and men for good women. It breaks my heart some of the stuff I hear “godly” men and women say defines what makes or would make them good. The “mark” gets missed by a land slide! What can one person at a time do? What difference would it make for a handful of us to turn back and begin again to do the thing we’ve been given as grace and love by our Creator to do? Begin within, in your own heart, and see, He longs to show Himself capable of the impossible!
