Awake! – Part 21/b – Timing is Everything

July 21, 2017 at 1:36 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , )

How do you think you did on the test? Did you hear from Adonai? Was His voice painting the final analysis? If so, the test was passed.

We live in a world right now, where there’s the “Truthers”, “fake news”, conspiracy theorist, real reporters, paid actors, and the list goes on. Amy Grant once wrote a song; “Ya gotta know, who to, and not to, listen to”. I remember it was one of my faves. I was in 7th grade when it came out.

It’s not so much why God placed inside me this calling card, as how and when. From the time as far back as I can remember, He has sent one thing after another to confirm He speaks directly to His children! The whole Word of God confirms it, but no book does quite like John. As you read, underline every time God spoke/speaks and His initiation to communicate. Your Bible will quickly be full of underlining! Then count how many times the phrase “I speak only what God/My Father tells me to say – do only what He tells me to do”

I was raised in the non denominational Christian church. With few exceptions, every single one of them taught that God doesn’t speak directly to His People! Years later I understood it is pure deceitful fear that has been behind this in the church. What did the enemy say in the garden?

“Did God really say….?”

That same enemy is still planting that same seed in the garden of God’s Vineyard. Hence the drowsiness encompassing His sheep. For today, this time, the buck must absolutely stop at what He says for our bearings to be correct where He has us, how and when. There are two ways we can stand firm in this:

  1. His Word, the Bible
  2. His Voice

That’s it. There is too much deception, too many people thinking they have the answers, too many people who think they can not be deceived, too many people afraid to hear from the Truth! (Remember…He’s a person, God – Yeshua/Jesus).

Here are two quotes from God, from the book of Jeremiah. The entire 51st chapter is crucial to our lives today.

Jeremiah 51:39; 57

When they are hot with desire, I will prepare them a drink, I will make them so drunk they will have convulsions, sleep forever and NEVER wake up, says Adonai.

I will intoxicated her leaders and sages, her governors, deputies and warriors. They will sleep forever and NEVER wake up. Says the King, whose Name is Adonai-Tzva’ot. (Lord of Angel Armies)

Let’s face it, when God spoke, quite often, it was plain just hard to hear. Not hard as in too low in frequency, but hard as in difficult to accept. I believe the disciples themselves can be quoted as saying that very thing about Yeshua’s teaching. Yet, let those verses sink in, time is going to run out, come to an end. Time ran out for Pharaoh, Goliath, Samson, Jericho, Sodom and Gomorrah, Haman, Pilate and the “church” in Yeshua’s time. The list goes on. Those in Israel at the time of Jeremiah 52, indeed were put to sleep and Never Woke up. It’s so important to never think we have some “spiritual nodoze” that makes us immune to falling asleep – aka: being deceived. Read in the Book of John how Yeshua emphasises hearing Him, listening to Him and staying in union with Him. And not being decieved!

Now is not the time to be afraid of people’s reactions to us, either quoting the Word of God or telling them what He says to tell them!

And now is definitively not the time to be afraid to hear Him! For we can “take this to the bank”, if we do not, right now, hear Him over every other voice shouting at us from every direction, we will fall asleep and waking up will not be a pleasant experience.

How are the many ways the enemy is saying “Did God really…?” to you right now? Let me rephrase his wording as can disguise the same phrase.

Why am I here? What am I doing? When will I be given a mission or ministry? Where do I matter?

The key to knowing why these questions are from the pit of hell instead of “nice soul searching Christian thinking” is because the emphasis is on the one letter word in each question. I. Nothing is accidental, God is behind everything about our lives. Where we are, how we are effecting others, and He may not choose to show us exactly how impactful He is in us, right now.

Are you bearing fruit to bring Him glory? Or hiding behind leaves that reveal no fruit can be found? Hiding is about us, bearing fruit will always hallmark that we are about Him! I have yet to meet anyone truly doing the work of the Kingdom that can see exactly how and when God is using them at all times. Or even most the time. People who brag about how God is using them are not liars, but I guarantee they are blind in some very important spots.

When King David thought he had it all together, was settling down into the kingdom God had given him. He took a walk on a roof and became a murderer and adulterer in the space of about 5 seconds. Remember, it starts in the heart, the mind, where only God can interrupt one efficiently and effectively.

Remember, Peter was warned exactly how he’d deny Yeshua, and he still did it. It wasn’t the power of suggestion, it was prophesy. Yeshua’s timing in exactly when and how He warned Peter and then made the cock crow that third time was to His glory not Peter’s. It did indeed produce fruit for the Kingdom of God. Yet Peter will likely tell you he had not a clue how. David too. Every one of us gets stuck on ourselves at least a dozen times a day. It’s hard not to trip over something that stays with you everywhere you go.

Remember, it’s not why, God parted the Red Sea, it’s how and when. Timing! It’s not why, Yeshua walked on water, healed the sick, lame and blind, raised the dead and died and rose again, it’s how and when! The why is obvious, God wanted to do it, it got done. God wants the evil to end, but not the lives of His created precious children. The end will get done, and every chance will be exhausted to bring His children into His Kingdom. Both are happening, right now, at the same time!

Are you awake? Can you hear Him telling you? Remember Yeshua’s Words, let them ring in your ears…

He who has ears, let him hear…”

If the only way to hear God is in reading His Word, He would have said “He who has eyes, let them read.” God would not have sent prophets or Yeshua to speak. The Torah, would have been enough, Yeshua would not have been needed. I could go on and on…but I pray you get the “picture”. The Word of God is anointed, alive and active. Just like it says. Yet relationship with God, is personal, talking, walking, living, responding, and knowing.

If anything less than relationship was what God is after, He would have gave us a book, like a dead school book of rules and called it a day. Pun intended.

If God’s timing is everything, and He didn’t say; “Lisa go to your neighbor and invite her to dinner.”  in the Bible, how then could I obey? I can verify in the Word, that the Voice I heard was God’s, but the Bible still won’t personally reach down on my block with the specific people He placed in my path and tell me what to do and say that applies to their life for His glory. It will confirm and reinforce the Living God whose Voice goes out from everlasting to everlasting; written as His Voice directed it to be written. I’m in no way understating the validity and power of the Word of God. No, indeed, that very Word is the same person as the Truth, Yeshua the Messiah; and He said…

John 10:3-4

This is the one the Gatekeeper admits, and the Sheep hear His voice. He calls His own sheep, each one by name, and leads them out. After taking out all that are His own, He goes on ahead of them, and the Sheep follow Him because they recognize His voice.

John 10:16

Also I have other sheep which are not from this pen; I need to bring them, and they will hear My Voice; and there will be one flock, One Shepherd.

John 10:27

My sheep hear My Voice, I recognize them, they follow Me…

✡ May the grace and peace that comes from hearing and knowing Yeshua the Messiah be with you. Now and forever more. ✡

Lessons in Set Apart (Holiness) – Part 2

December 9, 2016 at 7:05 am (Remodeling the Mind, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Tiara stepped out to run to the store. She blew a kiss to her husband through the window of his office and headed towards the truck. As always her glance was drawn upward towards the sky, again it took her breath away. Clouds whipped and twisted like pixie dust and ringlets of gold and pink were like whispers of the Spirits heart at play and delight. The sun was falling faster towards the southern horizon, soon it would withdrawal it’s effects of warmth from the evening air. Venus, The Splendor; as God had taught the magi so long ago was holding a steady and beautiful course to follow the sun just over head. Tiara smiled and thanked Adonai (the Lord), once again for being the King of the Universe and giving her eyes to see it. As she walked up to the truck, her attention was drawn to the lights that had just came on across the street. Both houses seemed to be in sync for timing of the holiday affair of lights. One was distinctly christmas, a big Santa took up the center of attention with traditional icicle lights and candy canes scattered about. The other house was more to Tiaras liking, not traditional, classy and done with artistic aplomb! Still with signs of the traditional holiday but with things you don’t find in every yard this time of year. The mini hot air balloon was particularly pretty. Beauty abounded this evening in the form  of lights.

As she opened the truck door to get in, Tiara sighed, keys jangling. Reminding her of the sounds she’d imagine of sleigh bells a bit from her many years of holiday recollections. The door closed and she started the truck, looking at her house, still with summer yard lights glowing, but faintly as the sun no longer provided the solar panels with the light, having a northern exposure. For the third year her house would only display the mogan David she had decorated with lights and the Menorah as the candles were lit each night until they melted down losing their illumination. The thought made her smile but with a slight sigh, she loved the lights of christmas.

Lord may this house be lit up for You by our every word and deed.

It had been harder than she thought to let go of all things christmas. A blessing beyond words but also it came with much misunderstanding and inner turmoil. It would have been easier if she’d never celebrated the holiday in the first place. Many family members especially her children and her young nieces and nephews with their children never complained to her face, God was good; but in the air between them there was question and disappointment. Gift giving was another part of holiday making that had been given up for Tiara and Josh. It was hard, they were giving and loving at heart, it was hard to be the only two people who didn’t enter the family tradition. Tiara wondered what kind of memories her grandchildren would form at the decision they had made. Being set apart often felt alienating and hurt a bit too.

Father forgive me for my longing to be seen different than You truly see me. Thank You for giving me this way and the eyes to see the Truth to follow. Collect these sighs likes tears in that bottle You have for me. May You bless my children, grandchildren, friends and family in a special way dear Lord in these days. Help me to hear and obey You with a whole heart.

The truck in gear, Tiara began to pull out of her driveway. She pushed the button to listen to her favorite station. ‘Silver bells’, the famous song greeted her. She “leaned in’ to hear if the Lord would again ask her to refrain from listening. That still small Voice confirmed, and she tried four different stations, all were playing various holiday music. She turned off the radio. Another sigh…

It’s everywhere, dear Father of Lights. Can a little sweet music be so bad? Oh, Lord You know how I love to sing and worship you. That last one was Third Days rendition of ‘O Holy Night’…I admit I’m a bit unsure of the harm. But…not my will but Your will Master of my musical heart. Teach me what You will in this too.

The impression of how this ‘having nothing, NOTHING, to do with evil’ instruction began to teach in deeper ways pressed in.

My Child, this refraining should not feel so unfamiliar in many other ways in this world than just this time of year. Indeed “it’s everywhere” this theme is, in so many things in this world, yes? I tell you the truth, dear one, that what you say is true, to never have become part of the world, entered into the ways of small compromise would have made this separating much easier, indeed not hard at all. You don’t feel like you miss going to bars do you?

No, my Lord, I do not.

Because the desire has no attachment of appeal that came with deceit. I’ve asked my people to avoid and hate evil and the ways of it for this reason. Confusion and heart ache come from the small seemingly innocent compromises. You can’t miss what you never knew. Yet all sin and fall short dear Child, and the contrast of longing and separating is my gift to You. That you may remember and with trust turn away so that My instructions for you may become more and more delightful to you as you obey. Do you see what joy you have to hear My Voice and heed it’s direction?

Oh yes, yes Lord, I would despair without it!

Trust Me now, then My precious Child, and remember, it’s the heeding of My direction that’s the key here. Do not be tempted to judge or condemn the lights, songs, and many elements of this holiday refraining. Just trust Me, come to Me, like this. What delight I have when you come to Me, and we talk and work out My will for you! Sing to Me a new song now My Child…

Pulling into the parking lot of the store, Tiara began to sing.

John 15:3-4

Right now, because of the word which I have spoken to you, you are pruned. Stay united with Me, as I will with you…

~ Stay tuned for Part 3…~

Grace and peace to you in the Messiah, Yeshua ♡

The Privilege of Our Approach

October 9, 2014 at 2:19 am (Remodeling the Mind, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , )

image

Back-round: Hezekiah is the King of Judah. King Ashur has his own ‘counselors’ or prophets and they have been falsely testifying against God, encouraging King Ashur to attack the surrounding regions, laying waste to everything. The threat of Ashur has come to King Hezekiah with the information that false prophets lay behind the grievous acts. Isaiah is the prophet of King Hezekiah’s house at this time and he records the same history in chapters 36 and 37 (Isaiah).

The example laid out within the text. Our the application (well, one of many) of the above scripture:

Go straight to God, don’t ‘pass go’, don’t ‘collect $200’, don’t call a friend, don’t check the Internet for further information, don’t do or say or act in any way shape or form except to with reverence and absolute trust go to God…and approach Him with the issues we have, our hurts and confusions, our fears and frustrations, and joys and celebrations. Lay them out before Him and expect and wait for His counsel.

The first thing Hezekiah did was go before Adonai. He could have went to Isaiah. After all he was the anointed prophet of God there. His counsel could hardly have been in error. He likely would have told Hezekiah to do what he did anyway. It certainly would not have been a ‘sin’. But what King Hezekiah was learning was that God, Himself’s first and greatest desire is that each would seek Him for themselves. .. He sent prophets out of grace for the general weakness of the human tendencies. .. to trust words that came from an ‘audible voice’, attached to a visible body, that looked and lived like ‘everyone else’. It was God bending way down to reach His precious children; not catering to a ‘spoiled child’ but coming down to be with us. Sound familiar? Emmanuel.
But each prophet had the same message “Turn to God, away from your ways.” This is a message of:

“Come unto Me, draw near, let Me hold you. .. show you how very in control I am, how easy it is to live following My instruction. .. how I delight to tend and care for you. My voice is stronger and much more real than anything in all creation. My voice spoke the very substance of all things into being. Fear it not, count on it as you count on nothing else. .. because nothing else can be counted on besides My voice, My lead, My advice, My comfort, My authority, My power. .. these are accessible to you. .. always. ..I long to be the number One source and best friend of your life. ..I made you dearest child, I am capable of keeping you. Seek Me first and I will not fail you. My advice will always be 100% right – 100% of the time. You won’t need to wonder if I mean what I say because I am able to make Myself heard and understood to you.”

You see. .. All throughout history, even during and after Yeshua (Jesus) came, humans have always wrestled with whether or not ‘that other human’ really heard from God or not. In Yeshua’s case people even accused Him of healing by the power of satan! One of the ‘joys set before Him‘ as Yeshua walked His broken body to the hill where He would hang; was the rending of the veil. .. the direct access that you and I would now have to hear God’s voice ourselves without needing anyone else to speak for Him. This is the fulcrum power of the Spirit of God we receive when we ‘enter in’ through Yeshua to the family of God. So now, in many ways, we (those after Christ) are more accountable for not obeying. We do not have the excuse of ‘the human You sent us Lord, we were unsure of them.’ Yeshua being vastly confirmed as The Last Human needed, the One who will take us straight to the Father is enough! Now we, like Hezekiah (and countless others before and after – see scripture references at the end of post) can enter the house of the Lord and seek His counsel about everything. See how God was swift to answer and honored the one who came straight to Him full of confidence in Him to meet the need, however He would choose to do so. How can He make us confident in ourselves when the entire purpose is to make, build and prove the confidence is in Him? Indeed He shall thwart every effort for us to have confidence in anyone other than Him and most especially ourselves! This is His grace! Saving grace!

How we approach the throne of God is pivotal to our walk with Him along the road. Humbly seeking with the heart of Hezekiah, the mentality that says as he did, “You alone are God of all kingdoms on earth. You have made heaven and earth. Turn Your ear, Adonai, and hear! Open Your eyes, Adonai, and see!” (2 Kings 19:15-16) Asking for all we need and then turning from our ways of demand and expectation based on what we think and how we see and bending our wills to trust in His Ways and Thoughts much higher and not like ours to win the day. .. inside us! You see when Hezekiah asked God to hear and see, he knew he was asking God to open his ears and eyes. For they were one and the same due to the fact that Hezekiah’s heart was set to honor God first. God’s eyes opened is our eyes opened if He lives in us! How can it be otherwise? He will be our eyes and ears; because His are not limited to the temporal but all things eternally. How can we not be confident in such Eyes and Ears? Such strength is found in such knowledge that we, though we are limited, have a ‘set of eyes and ears’ that knows the visible and invisible and can cause us to act within a realm we cannot see or hear! What a profoundly transforming God, miraculous indeed – He is! What grace and mercy and honor He bestows us! No other creatures know this kind of Shepherding! What meaning there is in the words of Yeshua when He said “he who has ears, let him hear!” May the heart of Hezekiah’s ‘ears’… be a shining example of Yeshua’s words within each of us more and more each day!

Workin’ It Out ~ Part 2

May 1, 2013 at 2:22 am (Remodeling the Mind) (, , , , , , , , , , )

image

Recently, I was asked, “Who is your favorite author?”

I answered, “The Holy Spirit.”

“Oh”, they said, dripping with sarcasm, “What did that write?”

“Anything worth reading.” I replied.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Quiet times are not always silent to the receptors of the physical ear. Its where one goes to shut out the noise of the world. It takes the awesome power of God, moving a heart and soul towards Himself. My part is to first believe I can trust Him to do the shutting out of everything that doesn’t consist of Him. Secondly, to expect Him to speak to me. Which is “the harder work” of the two cannot be measured. It takes every inner-muscle, tendon, ligament, and nerve attached to my decision-maker (will) to do.

The reading is easy, the “eating” of the Word is challenging. Even Yeshua’s disciples had a hard time understanding the concept of eating His flesh…drinking His blood. (John 6:52-71). It takes a running the stuff I read through my own understanding…then giving up my own and asking Him for His – pen posed, if you will,  and ready for definitions that come from Him alone.

Its not just the Bible God authors! He has continued to write well past Revelations. Dangerous is this thinking, you say? Perhaps. Stick with me…if it seems offensive its okay. Perhaps the greatest sadness is that people today don’t really believe God can protect them from anti-messianic jargon. We stay “safe” inside a prescribed box and suddenly God can’t move outside that box we have prescribed. This box was meant to be broken, and often the only way is for Him to “offend” the rules of what keeps Him in there in our own minds.

I am so thankful God has sent various people into my life to challenge me in my boxed up thinking! So grateful He somehow got me to seek inside my offended sensibilities. So humbled and renewed by His protection within the boundaries of such endeavors. The God I learned about and came to conclusions about most my life, has been effectively proven to be not the God of the Universe. To be clear, I was raised in a “christian” home. Church-bred, family approved. I “cut my teeth” on basic Christianity. Needless to say…its not surprising I got cavities in those teeth. I stuck to a legalistic view of doctrine, and believed only whom I deemed trustworthy to teach. God, Himself as my teacher was never once taught from any pulpit. This concept was viewed as radical and charismatic. Neither of which had a inviting tone when spoken of to my young little ears. This was a danger zone. God speaks through the Bible…period, end of story. Never mind that in order for that to be true; Yeshua (Jesus) would have had to only have quoted verbatim from the Old Testament! Or He was/is not the Messiah. Indeed there’s an account also in John where someone is quoted having said, “No one ever spoke the way this man speaks!” Referring to Yeshua (John 7:45-52) Then there’s Yeshua, Himself said His Father works “outside the box” by quoting Old Testament scripture in Isaiah 54:13 which says, “They will all be taught by Adonai (the Lord); He goes on to say words you won’t find anywhere from Genesis to Malachi. (John 6:41-51) Only Yeshua spoke as Yeshua spoke because only Yeshua could! He spoke repeatedly about His sheep knowing His voice and following Him…if the Bible was to be our only source of Gods voice, then why didn’t Yeshua say “My sheep know how to read, and will find My words only in the Bible.”? And what about the countless people who never learned to read?? By the way…Matthew to Revelations hadn’t been written yet when Yeshua said the former. I could go on with this point of view, but alas I must move on.

Needless to say once He had duely offended my thinking in this way, He started teaching me how to question what is Him and isn’t. Using the Word of God always as a guide. Just like He intended it from the Beginning. The Bible is the written Word of God; that starts at the Beginning and takes us to the Last Days, covering A-Z if you will. Yet His speaking to His people did not end with Paul and the Disciples! What use would there be for the last 2000 years if that was truth? We are not in limbo! God is every bit as interested in speaking to His children directly today as He was the prophet Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel! (To name a few). Yeshua came to usher in the tearing of the veil that kept just anyone from approaching the presence of God, Himself and hearing and speaking directly from/to Him! The was one of the powerful results of Yeshua’s obedience to the will of the Father all the way to the cross! His work made it possible for the Spirit to write His word straight upon the tablet of a human heart! What a gift!

Here’s cusp of this “work out”. Every time you “turn around” in all the Bible; you got God saying “Fear not!! So what, you say? Its fear that keeps one from moving towards God to hear directly from Him! Why? Because if its true, He speaks directly to us, then we are without excuse not to do EVERYTHING the way He says to do it! As detailed and applicable to our own times, with the detail needed for the specific people we have in our lives right now today. God can literally tell you what to eat, when to eat it, when to lie down, when to get up, what to say, what not to say, how to think, what to believe, what is truth, what is not, what to watch on TV, what to listen to, even when to go to the bathroom and how many pieces of TP to use to wipe your tush! And if, if this is truth, we are without excuse of knowing His way verses ours! He really can “call the shots” and we have nowhere to turn for not heeding His voice! This was Gods biggest complaint towards His people in the Old Testament, “My people do not listen to Me! Or live by My directions!” He wrote them down and sent them through imperfect people, namely prophets and priest. Everything He said through those He sent was true and proven to be true, and still…they did not believe, choose, or obey! Now we live in times that feels offended when someone says “God told me…”. The enemy of God has cloaked himself in fear again and bargained with the same old “chip”. “Did/Does God really say????” We waver and justify, throwing theology and man-made religiosity around to keep the box intact. So we can pick and choose what it is God will or won’t speak to, teach, instruct, guide and communicate about. The problem from the days of Noah, Moses, and Elijah have not changed since the time of Yeshua, Paul and now! We must seek God for everything all the answers to any thing that concerns us. That is…if we want to be His Child. Its simple if you don’t. This dilemma does not exist for those who view God unreachable, and as if He has left us here to “wing it” on our own. His voice is the last thing one attempts to become “familiar” with if our own ways are what we really want. Hence why Yeshua said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commands/obey Me. If you listen to Me, My Father and I will come in and make our home in you. Whoever belongs to God listens to what God says; the reason you don’t listen is that you don’t belong to God. Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to Me” (John 8:31; 12:47-50; 14:23-24; 8:47)

To work out our own deliverance/salvation one must first come to this throne…there is a Voice, crying out in the wilderness of our own heart, heed it, seek it, follow it and live; not just eternally but purposefully and fully alive as God created us today, now. Or we have many many forms of and variations to going our own way, some cloaked in “righteousness” some without need to due to the lack of desire for even the appearance of righteousness. The great debate in the “christian world” today is: saved by grace without any need to obey God under the classifications of “works” VS. saved by Grace, unearned and unmerited, but now out of love alone, obedient to the Savior. Bought and sold. The choice is ours, but given by God. What kind of Love gives this kind of freedom to choose or reject?? Its completely out of human capacity to comprehend…without God’s Voice whispering in your “ear”. 🙂

Lord I have found this fence to climb,
And peeking over a Light does shine,
Brilliant hope before my face,
The darkness comes behind disgrace.

Altered forward motion flow
Tempting backward pulls I know
A Kingdom before me, A world behind
Through myself, While I stay blind

Who am I?
Your question bleeds
A Kingdom within grows with the weeds
Your sift and plow to trim the wheat
Grow that armor that lies at Your feet

Invitation harkens within the Light
Adventure and truth
But oh, what a fight!
Colorless, dull that seems to call
Back to the darkness to promise a fall

The fences’ slivers begin to dig
As I grasp at a meaning You came to give
I now know the only thing thats sure
Is backwards is forwards
Your words so pure

No fences to climb
Just a hop in Your lap
The measure of dominion
The length of You fills the gap

I reach for now countless
Countless unknowns
My Home is where You are
Inside spirit groans
Wordless entreaties for desires and needs
That speak in a language in these ears You feed
Hearing as You say
Not as I will
Whispering softly
Be quiet, be still
Peeking now over that fence as a child
At the same time I am walking with You undefiled

What awesome mystery that comes with the Light
The darkness behind me now makes it grow bright!

Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah ❤
