Truth for Living – Part 2

March 18, 2015 at 1:27 pm (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I can’t think of a more sensitive subject in general than what people eat. The only other subject is Who they believe in and why. That comes close. I never really thought about it much truly. Most people, when talking about the subject of food, typically are talking about a great meal or bad one they had. Or they talk “turkey” about whose going to bring what to a dinner or picnic, invitations to a meal (out or at a home), or a new thing they tried that was “to die for”(and they might). Over the last five years cooking shows have come full swing, often conversations will roll over the latest episode of some show or another. But, just like most things in life, the “talk” bubbles at the surface but doesn’t really hit “home” – go somewhere that changes.

As a child I was raised in a meat and potatoes kind of family. My folks came from farming families. My grandpa on my mom’s side was “the health nut” – hence I never really paid much attention to his eating habits. Let face it, when your greater authorities call someone a nut of any kind, as a child, you tend to disregard them. My grandpa’s wife, my grandma, on the other hand was an alcoholic pumped so full of pharmaceutical meds and “junk food” – she was called a different kind of “nut”. I didn’t know my grandparents on my dad’s side, they lived far away, both geographically and relationally.

Soda was my childhood obsession. My grandma always had it, and I always got one there. In junior high school I began to sneak Pepsi home and I would drink it when I went to bed. Ugh! I, thank the Lord, I never really craved candies much, though I had my share. I craved salty and crunchy things more. So chips and granola bars were a fave. I did like my mom’s cooking, boy can she cook. Stews, chilies, chicken and mashed potatoes, even salads. Admittedly though, my liking for veggies grew broader as I aged. Broccoli was “yucky”, and I tolerated it as a youngster. LOVE broccoli now.

Mexican food became a sanity must for me. Everything was better with green chile and cheese. Chips and salsa to this day keeps my taste buds friendly. I never drank cows milk due to its complete disagreement with my stomach. Which was okay, as I didn’t care for the taste anyway. Chocolate milk was the only thing I would endure the punishment of drinking cows milk for.

Red meat. ..ahhh now there’s a substance I could be creative with! Brown a pound of ground beef with a little salt, pepper, and garlic and I was a happy gal. Don’t tell me beef is bad, I’ll change your mind first before mine would even try to reconsider. That is, until I hit 35 years old and it started to do the same thing to my gut that cows milk would as child. Is there such a thing a food depressed? It really bummed me out, how do I live without my beef?

Around the age of 30, my husband Sam and I learned of a thing called The Hallelujah Diet. (This is basically a vegetarian diet with a lot of fresh juicing) and dove in. Miracles happened in our bodies. Weight dropped off like leaves off a tree in autumn. Breath stopped sinking, farts too. Energy! Wow, I almost felt 18 again. We made one big mistake. We had a weekly cheat night. Nothing was off limits on cheat night and we indulged. Then winter hit. My mind just couldn’t bend around Colorado winters without beef stew, red chile, pot roast, etc. It lasted about six months and faded out as every single diet known to man will do. Heads up, if it’s called a diet, its temporary, always is. Though we did keep some things from the diet, juiced more regularly, took the vitamins, stopped drinking when we ate (the liquid dilutes the acids in the stomach, causing digestion to become sluggish). Little things, but the menu basically went back to before.

Enter our 40’s, dear Lord, we felt pains that those who were 60-80 were supposed to “normally” live with. Our heads began to start keeping time with our joints. About 8 months ago someone suggested we watch a documentary called Forks Over Knives. We did. And the Lord tapped again on the same spot as He did in our 30’s. Only this time the truth would hold us more responsible to accept it and let it change us or be ignorant and hope for the best. It did help that my hubby was pushing 300 lbs, and secretly experiencing cardiovascular problems (he didn’t tell me at the time, but I suspected). It was obvious we were both headed towards diabetes. Our health was on the verge of crisis even if we didn’t know how bad. We dropped our knives and grabbed our forks! The following 8 months have been a ride of education that rivals those who go to medical school! All of it shocking, and hard to “swallow” but as best we could we began to apply the truth to our way of eating and we will never go back to ignorance again.

Let me lay some ground work, as Adonai (the Lord) never begins a physical work before He begins a spiritual one. The surface of things always follows the inner working. (His words not mine, though paraphrased). He began by starting to heal our hearts and minds. We began to consume His Word as never before, and as result really got to know Him. Our thinking began to be renewed, and our hearts transformed just like His Word says. Thus, when He began to show us how He taught us waaaay back in the beginning how He designed us and thus the reason for the instructions, we started to “get it”. God knows what He’s doing. Better yet, He knows best how we should “do it”…all of it.
The entire Word of God began to read like “Here’s how I made you, how I made all things. If you do things the way I say, you will have the best possible experience in this fallen world possible. If not, you’ll consistently be aware of all that is fallen and rarely be able to focus on anything else. Thus, not the best possible experience.” Praise be and glory to God, we listened, applied the truths, and watched as our inner persons experienced the truth of that.

So when He began to put the truth about our physical bodies before us, our soil was ripe to receive. We are not dieting, we have turned (repented) from poisoning our bodies, as we turned (repented) from poisoning our hearts and minds. The turning is away from the world’s way (our own) and facing Adonai’s with commitment to stay facing Him.

The result? Again, pounds fell off our frame. Just with food changes alone, no excersize regimen was applied at the time. To be honest, with the weight and joint problems neither of us could exercise! Energy has began to be a thing we experience instead of just pray for and make jokes about in terms of it belonging to youth only.
Every single cardiovascular problem Sam had is completely gone. Both of our diabetic signs – gone. Aches and pains are reading at about a 4 out of ten now, and getting better by the day. We actually know what really enjoying our food is like, not that false high from before. Our actual bodies are thanking us, not just our taste buds. Food is now functional not just a stop for pleasure but future pain. The body is beginning to become one with the Spirit. It’s transforming let me tell you. Easy, not on your life!

Part one of this series was an introduction. It contained to links to not extremist of the deep end stuff. It’s the truth folks. Forks Over Knives is too. People are getting wind of it, look at your local grocery store, it’s changing. The “health food craze” isn’t for the health “nuts”, it’s for the human body that wants to operate the way God intended for it. Did you know God designed our bodies to heal themselves? Did you know that the way He designed them to was with the foods He directed us to eat thousands of years ago? Do you know that people are completely healing from cancer, diabeties, arthritis, chronic intestinal problems, thyroid diseases, ulcers, cardiovascular dysfunctions of every kind, to save time. ..everything. Not just getting rid of the symptoms, but actually solving the problem at the source so as to never have the discomfort of the symptoms EVER again. Does this not sound like what God does? Man tries to treat the discomfort, turn off the alarm, God goes to the source and loves it into wholeness.
The two links in part one are the tip of the iceberg about health. The amount of lies I’ve swallowed (literally) are quite frankly overwhelming. Part three will be a resource only post, for those whom Adonai has been preparing to apply more truth. I couldn’t begin to possibly tell it all. Quite frankly I’m still absorbing it and like an infant, wobbling on shakey legs in learning and application myself. God has been faithful to lead as He always is to exactly the right resources at the right time. Faithful to weed out the riff raff from the real mccoy. Faithful to prove He’s not just the God of hearts, minds, souls, but of our bodies as well and the planet we’ve been placed on; where He provided all we need to serve Him. I can’t tell someone “do this, and that” to make it sink in. As all truth, one must begin to live it and see for themselves. They must listen to their Maker to be remade. Or should I say, put back the way He made it. I’m not saying He doesn’t will for some to be sick, diseased and suffer physically. If that was true the Bible is replete with inconsistencies. I am saying though, that most of our “dis-eases” today are not a result of His movement, but our need to feed the pleasure centers of our brains and tongues instead of eat. The fast food, fast pace of life has severe consequences. Our medical and pharmaceutical industries are cashing in on our distracted and stressed out ignorance. And, may I say, our stubborn refusal to make the change away from the easiness of getting our relief with crap food because we don’t have time to show down and learn what’s important. Or, we don’t like to cook. Why do it yourself, when someone else can do it for you? Eat right, excersize, and die anyway. Right?
Wrong. Very very wrong. True our bodies will all take their last breath one day. But they don’t all have to be full of dis-eases when they do. Our children don’t have to “learn to live with” obesity, diabeties, asthma, allergies and all the debt that comes from finding pills that will try to take the symptoms down while causing twice as many problems as the one the pill was supposed to “fix”. They don’t. We don’t.
But we can. God will let us live to our convenience. But as He said, it won’t go well for us. He is faithful to make sure the truth about EVERYTHING that concerns us and those around us will be available should we seek it. It’s up to us to let the truth set us free.

Truthfully, it’s been pretty incredible learning how Adonai put our bodies together, how He designed the earth to nurture us. Although I’ve eaten a whole lot of humble pie, that has called me to change a lot of my ways; the information has also done nothing but exercised my trust muscles in Yeshua (Jesus), they may look lean. ..but they are strong! We’ve still got a ways to go in applying all this. And our bodies will heal but it will take some time. When something is true, it takes time to correct and learn and heal. But the results are beyond reproach or disputing. When something is true, it takes a bit of grinding against the pain of relearning and learning and keeping at it till “death do us part”. When something comes from The Truth it’s always 100 percent right, 100 percent of the time, but often doesn’t turn out like we think it should.

Sam and I know that God wants us to eat the way we do now, approach our health different. Yet, the results are not completely in. He may heal, but He may also still take us Home under the consequence of our bad choices for so many years. The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away, blessed be the Name of the Lord! The point to us, is that we are obeying Him, following His lead, witnessing to the Truths He reveals, and applying them as He instructs, trusting Him for the results alone. Ready to accept whatever He gives, or takes. Standing in awe of His designs, His ways, His faithful grace and mercy, His provision, and His person. We haven’t changed our way of eating and approach to health for those ends. We’ve changed to honor Him, to serve Him, and to worship Him – and Him alone.

We are not to obsess (stress) about what we will eat, wear, or how we will live. But He does give us the tools to do rightly, act justly and walk humbly with our God in all things. Not worrying, is not not caring, it’s taking one day at a time, and trusting He will provide. Both the truth to apply, and the resources to apply it. If it doesn’t come, He doesn’t think we need it.

It’s sad to me that so much of my life has been lived with truths right in front of me but I was to busy applying them my way to be free. Yet I’m thankful, and this post is a testimony that, His truths will win the day, and His work of freedom will overcome the bondage of our lack of faith and belief in Him. All of it has purpose, all of it will be made beautiful in His time. Take His hand, walk through the garden with Him, listen to Him tell you everything He made about you and do exactly what He says. No matter what it costs you. The final result will be such a freedom you will never again feel free to be ignorant again! And this is a very very good thing indeed!

To Life!!

Psalms 139:13-16

For You fashioned my inmost being,
You knit me together in my mothers womb.
I thank You because I am awesomely made, wonderfully; Your works are wonders – I know this very well.
My bones were not hidden from You when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes could see me as an embryo,
But in Your book all my days were already written;
My days had been shaped before any of them existed.

Isaiah 49:1-3

Coastlands listen to Me; listen you peoples far away;
Adonai (the Lord) called me from the womb; before I was born He had spoken my name.
He has made my mouth like a sharp sword while hiding me in the shadow of His hand;
He has made me like a sharpened arrow while concealing me in His quiver.
He said to me, “you are My servant, Isra’el, through whom I will show My glory.”

Job 10:8-12

Your own hands shaped me, they made me;
So why do You turn and destroy me?
Please remember that You made me, like clay; will You return me to dust?
Didn’t You pour me out like milk, then let me thicken like cheese?
You clothed me with skin and flesh
You knit me together with bones and sinews.
You grant me life and grace; Your careful attention preserved my spirit.

Ecclesiastes 11:5

Just as you don’t know the way of the wind or how bones grow in a pregnant woman’s womb, so you don’t know the work of God, the Maker of Everything.

Stretching back the skeins of time
Ending up in the Breath-Makers mind
The first beginning of a spoken name
There beheld a tiny child’s frame

Within a mystery unknown by its mind
A likeness of beauty yet undefined
A naked eyes sees, what the “elements” seed
But LIFE is no element
Its You on Your knees!

Breathing, forming, causing a will
That answers the Breather of all that is still
Holding it gently while shaping its heart
Your will ~ will be done right from the start

Protected from forces
Even the womb that it holds
Can do no real service
Without which Your will folds

“Here is My child, not the one whom now carry’s
Its life depends not on whom her life marries.
This beginning is Mine and so too, her end.
I will hold her, I will teach her, I will shape her ~ To none but Me will she bend!

Many years have spoken
Many days she’s been broken
Many hearts have been tended
Many moves still not ended
Many thoughts to be redone
Many kingdoms will come
But for this child, today is still yet but one

Harken the eye to the stars
See the nears and the fars
Know beyond all that is seen
God is making her clean

Born once into the flesh
So My heart could enmesh
In the dying becomes
NEW LIFE finds her refreshed

Spirit willed now is she
All for One she must be
Now back to the beginning
See My will ~ still is winning!

What Women Want. ~ Part 4 ~ His Excellency’s Wife

February 3, 2013 at 2:08 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , )

Isaiah 54:5

For your Husband is your Maker, Adonai-Tzva’ot (Lord of the Sabbath; Lord of Heaven’s armies; Lord of Host) is His name. The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of all the earth.

Hosea 2:16; 19-20

“On that day,” says Adonai, “you will call Me Ishi (My Husband); you will no longer call me Ba’ali (My Master).

I (the Lord) will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, in justice, in grace and in compassion; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness (trust), and you will know Adonai.”

Proverbs 31:10-12

Who can find a capable wife? Her value is far beyond that of pearls. Her Husband trusts her from His heart, and she will prove a great asset to Him. She works to bring Him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

As a woman, the first and most long-lasting question must be…”Who am I for?” (Ok, men too, but my focus is on my fellow sister’s here 🙂 ) In my own life, and in every other cause for observance, the desire to be a soul-mate and mother has done so much to shape a woman; both for good and ill; there must be something huge about where this comes from! Shall we take a look at where it began? And Who made it so?

Genesis 3:16

To the woman He said, “I will greatly increase your pain in childbirth. You will bring forth children in pain. Your desire will be towards your husband, but he will rule over you“.

Now…let me put this in its prophetic perspective.

Your desire will be towards your Husband, but He will rule over you.

What a difference a Capitalization can make, eh? There are those who would argue this “interpretation” and I can only reply with a strong voice to pray and ask Him, Himself to tell you what is true or not. NEVER, especially when some check is within your spirit, is it right to let it pass or stand in rigidity over and offensive feeling without going to the Author of Truth and asking, “Is this right? I am willing that my own perspective up to now may have been in error, but if not or so; I depend completely on Your lead to know the truth from error. You have spoken to Your own from the dawn of what we know as time, You will do no less right now for me, my Lord. Lead me in the paths of Truth.” That is my only answer, for argument is for a world I don’t belong to, and Truth and its persuasion is not mine as a duty, but His alone. I am content that He has convinced me of the Truth, and can and will only share what He, Himself has taught me; to no credit of my own save that it pleases Him to teach, reveal and lead us where we would not go in our own way of thinking.

For in every other way of interpretation of the small h, he, husband, in this passage there is more room for more errors than stars in the sky. But taken with God, Himself being the He/Husband of His words, there can be no doubt in either the vast sky above or the earth below; that the idea of husband/wife and all it represents in relation to Who we are for…is answered. For if God is our First Love, then nothing but good can come from the love we would have for a spouse. This perspective, too, brings much more to the entire passage of Proverbs 31! For if every little thing we do is sent up for the approval of our Husband/Maker, it can do no harm to our spouse or children, brother or sister, friend or enemy, neighbor. Its also of great import to note: Proverbs 31 starts at verse 1, not 10; for which the emphasis gets so urgently placed in “women’s ministries” today. Shall we look at it?

Proverbs 31:1

The words of King L’mu’el (Solomon), the prophesy with which his mother disciplined him:

Who am I for? As a woman seeking “What Woman Want” there can, and never will be a more important beginning. Who we are for will shape everything we do towards purpose and meaning or purposelessness and vanity. It will trash every theology, movement (example: women’s liberation) and parasitical religious notion without giving one misstep to ponder. What women want is purpose! Is knowing beyond a shadow of doubt she is exactly who she is supposed to be, where she is, with anyone she is with; whether it be in marriage or at the grocery store check line. Security is everything to a woman. It can only be found in the One who secures her. Its not a man, or a child, or and most especially herself. But the One who called her into being, for the purposes He has for her; her Maker, her Husband, her Savior ~ God. For there is nothing more beautiful and cherished in all the world than a woman who is His Most Excellency’s Wife. Whether she be single or married, a mother, aunt, sister, friend or neighbor, or full of education or world-wise, Whose she is, makes all the difference!
