Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in Adonai (the Lord) with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him; then He will level your paths.

Have you ever asked why God willed it that His Word be written? That the Bible has endured, with all the propensities for human error in translation? Or perhaps the better question may be, for you, do you believe its by the will of God that this thing called learning to read and write, indeed is from God? Consider carefully. Though man has in effect seemed to take all the credit for the novel idea of “no child left behind” and pumping the importance of education (which in effect begins with reading and writing); it has never and will never be to human-kinds credit that now 97% of the worlds population can read. In the 1500’s very few could read. Now the promise of learning as a child to read, is almost synonymous with learning how to walk.

Sadly with all the modern day advantages, reading any book is falling out of favor. What is my point? It’s with a heavy heart that I write tonight. For now more than ever, the reading of the Bible by any person is so easy; and so avoided.
Here is a list of common reasons why:

~ Its boring.
This breaks my heart above all reasons.

~ I don’t like to read.

~ I don’t have time.

~ I can’t understand it.

~ I’m not a “reader”.

We live in a culture that hinges and  unhinges upon what’s comfy and enjoyable. Thereby the amazing honor of having learned how to read has been lost. Its no accident that God had His Word written down and this evidence alone is why we know that its His will that anyone should be able to know Him by reading it.
Just like the only way to the Father is through Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ); the only way to learn what He is like, how He works, and what He has done…is through the door of reading His Word. The complaint of not understanding it may be valid. The excuse of not liking to read? Sorry there’s no cure for personal discomfort. As to having time?? Anyone with half a conscience can answer…make and take the time because everything else you put time into depends on it. If you count yourself not a “reader”… I pray by that you mean you literally can not read anything. Yet even in this category you fail, for now the Word can be listened to via MP3, CD, or likely you know someone who can read. As to it being boring…my guess is you have failed to be bored to death with all else this world has to offer for entertainment. Though this may also be the same ailment of not understanding what you are reading. This too, has a cure…ask God on the faith He gives you to read it to you. 90% of lack of understanding comes from our lack of ability to understand the meaning of anything because we are unwilling to unlearn the wrong ways to view things and relearn the correct ways. We are a proud people who now more than ever pride ourselves on “what we know”.
We can’t read the Word of God and think we know anything. It may sound redundant but its wisdom is ancient and – if you stay still enough, long enough – something inside you will hum with the truth of it.

On the other hand its possible – somehow its possible that some would – having been exposed to and read it all their lives; think they know the One who wrote it so well that they have become immune to it. Such paradoxes I leave to the only One who can grasp it to decipher. Yet the birds of the air know their Maker more than these. Most often this disease comes from another ancient mantra;

Know thyself.

This corrodes the path by which anyone can ever truly know anything.

Show me who You are O God!

Just for the sake of knowing Him – not yourself or others or to understand a thing He’s made – but just to know Him. If this be a readers heart when they open those thin pages of their Bible…they will not be bored, will be shown how to understand by Him, Himself. Its a promise He made…He has never failed to keep it. And then…then – ahhhh – the doors of our very souls are opened to mysteries far beyond what we have ever seen or ever known.

Help me to Love You Lord!

In such a pursuit our love for anything or anyone  becomes divinely corrected and perfected without one effort on our part. For fountains of true love flow from Him and Him alone – we have none of our own. I have heard it said and likely you have to;

“Well so-n-so loves so-n-so in their own way, as best they can.”

I tell you, if someone loves another in their own way, sooner or later this “love” translates to hate. Yet if I love anyone as God loves them and myself, it is the very article of genuine love and produces the fruits of it. These fruits lay in a garden not produced in earthly soil; but the very breath of God from whence all things came – even man in which God used both! (Breath and earthly soil)

The Word of God, which He has always breathed can not be over-exposed to one who longs to know the Breath that breathed it. But, one who wants to know themselves better and make this earthly life work and thereby reads an army of scripture a day – only for that purpose – will become immune to the oxygen of life from whence the Words come. Atrophying the soul and eclipsing the light by which they were meant to grow. The Word of God can ONLY be used by Him. The man or woman who seeks to use it – will find they read the words right enough but they never get read by the Word. There is an awesome metaphysical and spiritual reality that is found; more solid than the ground beneath our feet when the Word reads us! Each word becomes volumes and volumes of more than words but Life! There are so so many reasons why eternal life is necessary to God’s children! One word contains enough volumes to stretch to the farthest reaches of a million years!

It would only take one word perhaps two for a person to know thyself.
We become short-lived inside the “wisdom” of “know thyself”!

Know the One who created you!
Seek the One who created you
Serve the One who created you
Listen to the One who created you
Read the Words from the One who created you

You will find no thoughts for yourself there to trip you up in the pursuit to simply know God, Yeshua (Jesus), the Father, the Spirit…the Living Word! He spoke the first word, He wrote the first word…and He has willed that all should not be held by the excuse that they can not read them!
I have seen people, willing to do the most unenjoyable and undesirable things for empty and fruitless pursuits. But for the amazing privilege of reading…the purpose for which you have learned to do so is just one. Yes, just one. That we may know the Truth and that He may set us free. Every other perk to learning to read is added bonuses. A long time ago, only the wealthy and upper class of society learned to read. Now, the homeless can. Even the blind. Some blind learn to read and never see. Some homeless learn to read, never change their “homeless status” but find their true Home within the pages of a Book, for which all mankind was taught to read. God “wrote the book” on every single thing worth knowing…I pray His Spirit move again in people with humility and gratefulness for the honor of learning to read. May He be known in every Word!

I will list scripture references below for further study on the Word which for all “my” words can be summed up in His, expounded, and enlarged should you wish to read them.

Matthew 6:33; 19:29 ~ Deuteronomy 4:29; 10:12 ~ Psalms 119:2 ~ Colossians 3:16 ~ Isaiah 33:6 ~ 1 Timothy 4:8 ~ Proverbs 8:18 ~ Matthew 7:7 ~ Jeremiah 29:13 ~ John 15:7-16; 10:4, 27 ~ 1 John 1:10

The Birth of A Savior – Recommended Reading

December 6, 2012 at 1:35 am (recommended reading) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Every year I pull these three books off the shelf around Thanksgiving. The entire series The A.D. Chronicles by Brock & Bodie Thoene books 1-12 is excellent! I read and re-read these often. For the holidays though, the story of Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zachariah, and the Wise-men doesn’t get better than these! They reveal something new every time and bring me closer to Yeshua (Jesus) without fail.

Much love and effort went into these stories by the Thoene’s, in their historical accuracy, biblical truth, and even educate about the stars, planets and skies as done all those years ago. You won’t look at the night sky the same ever again!

These three books 4,5 & 6; take you from the beginning of the New Testament to the time of Mary, Joseph and young baby Yeshua’s departure for Egypt. Weaving the evil of those days and incredible movement of the Spirit of God into the culture and characters with breathtaking accuracy. It’s as close to a 3-D experience in reading one can get! Leaving you wondering if God didn’t come down and dictate to the Thoene’s word for word, sight for sound, and truth for transformation.

You will definitely want to pick up book Seven and keep going :-). I love these authors for their passion to honor the Hebraic roots of our Savior, and strenuous efforts to historical accuracy they bring into all their work. The characters are full and vibrant, rich and real.

So, I read these every year to bring my heart “in line” with the stars so long ago, to herald anew my Saviors birth. To remind myself what this holiday season is really about. To honor my Shepherd with all my heart, mind and soul.

There are so many controversies surrounding these holidays. Hanukkah or Christmas? When was Jesus really born? Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays? It quite disheartening to be truthful. It falls in line with the point Paul made about not arguing about trivial things, as unity in Yeshua was the pivotal point, which always lands in love! No, Yeshua was not born on December 25th. Yes, Christmas came to be because of a Saint long ago’s desire to be generous. No, I do not believe Santa Claus should be anywhere near what we teach our children about on Christmas if you are going to celebrate that day as Yeshua’s birthday. The two confuse each other. Either teach about Saint Nicholas and his story and leave Jesus out if it, or teach about Yeshua and His birth. These never should have been brought into the same hemisphere, in my humble opinion.

As for Hanukkah, this holiday is a Jewish holiday, but not to be confused with those of the Old Testament’s commanded feast. It is not, was not, ever commanded by God to celebrate. It is a wonderful story of God’s miraculous provision during a very troubled time for Israel. I will leave it to you to look into the history of it, its well worth it believe me.

With so many friends and family celebrating Yeshua’s Birthday during this time of year. I have chosen to honor His Birth as the center for my celebration during December. It must be a conviction between you and Him alone, what, why, and how you celebrate at this time. No one has any right to pass judgement on anyone because only God is qualified to judge the total of a human heart.

I pray you will invest in these books, and find the joy, awe, and wonder of the Birth of our precious Savior Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). They will add to the festive and humbling nature of the gift God gave us in Yeshua. May they “speak out” from the echos of those days into your soul and breathe the Life of the Son right into your days, add Light to your celebration, and joy unspeakable to your walk with Him! God with us, Immanuel!

Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah ❤
