1 John 4

1 Dear friends, don’t trust every spirit. On the contrary, test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 Here is how you recognize the Spirit of God: every spirit which acknowledges that Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) came as a human being is from God,

3 and every spirit which does not acknowledge Yeshua is not from God – in fact, this is the spirit of the Anti-Messiah(anti-christ). You have heard that he is coming. Well, He’s here now, in the world already!

4 You, children, are from God and have overcome the false prophets, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

5 They are from the world; therefore, they speak from the world’s viewpoint; and the world listens to them.

6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God doesn’t listen to us. This is how we distinguish the Spirit of truth from the spirit of error.

7 Beloved friends, let us love one another; because love is from God; and everyone who loves has God as his Father and knows God.

8 Those who do not love, do not know God; because God is love.

9 Here is how God showed His love among us: God sent His only Son into the world, so that through Him we might have life.

10 Here is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent his Son to be the kapparah (sacrifice) for our sins.

11 Beloved friends, if this is how God loved us, we likewise ought to love one another.

12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God remains united with us, and our love for Him has been brought to its goal in us.

13 Here is how we know that we remain united with Him and He with us: He has given to us from His own Spirit.

14Moreover, we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent His Son as Deliverer of the world.

15 If someone acknowledges that Yeshua is the Son of God, God remains united with him, and he with God.

16 Also we have come to know and trust the love that God has for us. God is love; and those who remain in this love remain united with God, and God remains united with them.

17 Here is how love has been brought to maturity with us: as the Messiah is, so are we in the world. This gives us confidence for the Day of Judgment.

18 There is no fear in love. On the contrary, love that has achieved its goal gets rid of fear, because fear has to do with punishment; the person who keeps fearing has not been brought to maturity in regard to love.

19 We ourselves love now because He loved us first.

20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar. For if a person does not love his brother, whom he has seen, then he cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

21 Yes, this is the command we have from Him: whoever loves God must love his brother too.

I often wonder, how to begin to comprehend God’s Love. Myself, being a creature that taps the shoulder of fear without realizing it, grabbing it’s hand and making deals. Fearless in this world paints a picture of fierce boot strap pulling. Fearlessness requires a total shut down of human emotion for us. That is, in our own strength. Fearless, often looks like foolishness, indeed it can be. Most often this kind is the ultimate; fear of fear itself. God made us with emotion, feelings that have cause and effect. Fear is a reaction, not emotion. Yet I often don’t know how else to describe it, so I say “I feel afraid.” Fear is ultimately about control, or rather our inability to deal with our lack of it. There is only One who has all control all, the time – God. So as I acknowledge fear inside me, I am in turn questioning God’s promise, that He will do no harm but only good and what’s best for me and those I love, for everyone, all the time. No one on earth can do this, noone human. There was One human who did, Yeshua. Never did He harm. Never did He react in fear. Never. I must remind myself that often I may hurt feelings, have my feelings hurt, but there’s a huge difference between hurt and harm. God makes many things hurtful, but nothing harmful.

When I was very young, I was attracted to the glow of the burner of the stove. I love(ed) anything that produced heat, perpetually cold, I was drawn to things of this nature like a moth to a flame. My mom had just removed a pot of boiling eggs from the stove, there before my eyes was my opportunity – to see what the glow was all about, just how hot that heat could be. An hour later, I sat with big tears rolling down my newly educated cheeks with throbbing fingers now extended with blisters. It was too hot for my skin. God did not design the flesh to withstand that much heat on the surface of any part of my body. My fingers taught the lesson. I could have reacted in such a way of fear from that point on. I could have refused to ever deal with glowing red burners again. Praise God, I was taught that such fear would limit my ability as a wife and mother forever if I blamed the burner for the effect of the heat on my fingers. I did not ever touch a glowing burner again on purpose, but praise God my family has enjoyed many a meal from those same fingers since. Yet, God made the reaction of fear to do us good. I learned, heat, is good, the glow of burners are good, but I’m limited to what I can do with both. Fear teaches and reminds us of our limits. God is Love, because He has no limits. None. God placed the choice to fear inside us to teach us. Everything that rubs up against Truth, goodness, – teaches.

The disciples called Yeshua, Teacher, for good reason. Since the beginning of time human beings have been “touching (testing, curious but foolish) the glowing red burner” of God. We seek to learn where He ends and begins, and learn every time He has neither of these aspects to His Being. Except to say He is, – the Beginning and the End, of which, we will never in the sinful flesh be able to find. Hence we are instructed often to fear God. Lesson? Only fear Him who can change all the “rules” to get what He wants. He can turn gravity upside-down. He can make light dark and dark light. He can turn hatred into profound love. He can turn envy and jealously into graditude. He can turn sorrow into joy. He can turn hard-heartedness into compassion. Sin into victory. And vice-versa. There is nothing He can’t do. These are the tangilibility of God’s love. But we, we are extremely limited and for the most part, can only go from the positive to negative. Insecurity in our hands turns everything into a battle. The more we try to make ourselves feel secure, the more we do the opposite and take many people down with us. Insecurity is the most profound instagator of fear.

Look at the song Christ the Solid Rock:

My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus love and righteousness.

Human security is achieved only in these 10 words. Not in ourselves, but God. He alone can drive out fear. For all of fears reactions in us, we have one hope – Yeshua. That when He said, “It is finished.” on that cross, then proved it by rising up stone cold dead back to life, that the limitless power of Himself shall always be the sure thing. It’s the only gamble worth taking. I say gamble, because we are so limited, we most often can’t see the goodness in hurtful things. Not because there’s any doubt God wins every time. Often I’m afraid God’s good will harm me. Yet every time I am afraid in such ways, I’m confusing hurt and harm. My comfort level is always being challenged. Nothing challenges our comfort like pain. I must remember, no heart has broken more than God’s. No one has hurt, physically, emotional, mentally more than Yeshua on the cross. No one. God is the only one who can handle sin and its effects. I can’t, we can’t – ever. The effects of sin is death and pain. Doubt, insecurity, jealousy, envy, strife, hatred, and the like are all effects of sin. Reactionary responses in defense, on our part, are the hallmark of fear.

Then, why not just do away with such reactions within us when we become saved? Because purity is the goal of God for us. Refinement, – fire is painful. Yet it is effective in teaching. We are continuous learners. Only able share the lessons, not teach them. We know this because we know we can talk (preach/teach) for hours on the harm of sin, but the lesson is best learned in experience. Who among us with children doesn’t know this well? And, oh, how we fear for them!

Yet we learn best from Job. Who sacrificed on behalf of his children, just incase they sinned. It was never a question they would, and thereby suffer it’s effects. Jobs only hope was built on nothing less than God’s love and God’s righteousness. What animal did Job sacrifice? The animal of fear. Dangerous, cunning, sneaky and sly. He put his fears to the fire for refinement. The only way for us to do this is to put down fear and pick up faith. The only way we can is with the Spirit given us at the time of our rebirth in Yeshua. This is why only followers of Yeshua can put fear in its place. Without Him we are reduced at best to denying our insides, and seeming faith-filled when really we’re fear-numbed. This is leprosy at its core. Where we are cut and bruised by fear but don’t know it.

I’m saved because of the powerful incomprehensible love of God. Who is the only caster out of fear. I can only accept such love in the dose of His Son. In this way only have we been created to do so. Every time I “feel” fear, I ask myself “Abba, show me where I don’t accept You, what You say, what You do, what You’ve done or Who You are.” Fear is the red light to doubt. Red lights are meant to stop us – wait on God’s evaluation of our state. Not ours, His. He’s the teacher, we are the learners. Forever this is how it shall be. The tangibility of Love, is this process. Nothing more, nothing less.

Close Encounters

Repatence drew herself up from her knee-strewn posture with suppressed moans. She had been “at it” for hours. She had her “unclean self” in the stocks… willing the impurity from her thoughts to submit as she threw various “objects” of reticence at her wayward self. As she arose she took in the “scene”. Her rebellious nature glared back at her with a slight curve of laughter in her features. She let her shoulders drop and sighed.

Well Father, it seems it did no good to take myself captive. This part of me has nine lives and grins like a cat the more I try to expose it to Your discipline” she said aloud.

She does seem rather amusingly immortal, huh? ” A voice spoke from beside her, bending down He began to message her knees.

Repatence jumped and gasped aloud. Falling to the bed under shock and relief at the same time. It had been a while since her Lord had appeared so vividly. Though she never told a soul He appeared to her. Who would believe her. It was 2014 and noone testified to having “seen Him” anymore! Much less did they speak of His speaking to them! It was tantamount to being considered qualified to move into the psych-ward in a local hospital.

She leaned back against the stone wall of her humble room which framed her bed on two sides. Closing her eyes she giggled and blew out a alleviated breath. Yielding to His hands which “spoke” healing to her knees.

Is it possible my Lord, that my bad self keeps being resurrected by your enemy? The unkind and selfish thoughts don’t seem to be “killable”! She decided to just go with the flow and pour out her heart since He “was there” and she could not deny her knees now seemed to have forgotten their vigil upon the stone floor.

He smiled and it went from His face to her eyes and into the very core of her being. How she loved Him!

No, I do not believe that power is the enemies to use. Look closely, she never died.” His voice was gentle with a touch of humility and splashed with humor that settled the dust of peace in the world around her.

She looked closely as instructed. Her bent form in the stock, head turned towards a hand poking out of its captive hole, as if observing a hang nail quite content in its imprisonment. It was ridiculous, of course, as the image was only in her mind. One drawn up to help her in her determination to “beat down” the inpure thoughts that came as a result of her afternoon encounter with Mary-Margret, a sister in the shelter she worked with. Mary’s harsh words failed yet again to produce the humility that had been intended over her spacey-ness while serving the afternoon meal; resulting in an upturned tray and a burn on her hand.

The hand He now held in His and administered the same language through His fingers as He did her knees a moment before.

Am I crazy Lord? I was just trying to ‘die to myself’ and the image helped.” She began to tear up.

His beautiful hands, holes and all embraced her face and brought it in line with His own. She followed its path and meet His eyes, now full of their own tears.

Let’s take her out of the stocks dear one, she doesn’t need to ‘die’ as you understand dying. I did that. Within you, Repetance, is both light and dark and this is the path you walk with Me. Your desire is known to the One who knows you best. That’s why I’m here.” His words were more than residents of His mouth, they became!

The image in her mind dissipated and faded as she watched a tear roll down His scarred cheek. She reached a finger to touch it as it followed the path to His chin. Wonder filled her hand and vibrated up her arm and found expression in her throat in a awe-struck tremble. How she loved Him!

Why do You cry my Lord? She asked.

He caught her hand and kissed it.
Because it breaks My heart to see you try so hard to do a thing I’ve done. Give your wayward thoughts to Me as a gift, dear one, and I shall show you My grace.”

“But, how can I consider them a “gift” my Lord, they are unworthy of You!?!” She cried.

Because you give them to Me, sweet one, they become a treasure of priceless worth to Me and the Father! We can make them into Love, I don’t require you to understand, just to trust.” He said, looking deep into her eyes.

The word ‘but’ began to form on her lips. She “grabbed it” and frowned.
He began to laugh out loud with delight. A laughter that intoxicated without humiliation, and she joined Him. Knowing without knowing why He found such humor in her action, unseen and unspoken but known!

What a fitting name Abba gave you, Repetance, so much like repentence! You do embody the character! What delight you are!” He said with the affection that spun stars into existence.

Why don’t You do this with everyone Lord? You know, appear and talk and laugh and heal just like this.” She asked

“Why do you think I do not? He asked, seriousness replaced His demeanor.

Repetance turned red at the thought of her ignorance. She looked down. Immediately her face was brought back up to meet His gaze. Those other worldly eyes holding her captive now in the freedom of His love.

“Because noone talks about it, I guess. I mean noone! I suppose it’s natural to assume You do not. Though I realize it may not reflect the truth. Am I correct in keeping these moments to myself? She explained with the heart of yearning.

“Perhaps, at least until you are prompted again to share. There are moments that I keep just between us. Yet, remember yesterday when the gentleman asked you if God talks to you. And you withdrew, unsure and afraid.” He said and inquired.

She remembered well, nodding her head. Embarrassment creeping up her neck again.

Those are times you must be bold and unafraid and speak dear one. You will know and must act when prompted and let Me deal with what others think, say or even do to you at such times. Many are spoken to just like this but they, just like you, are afraid. It breaks My heart and keeps My followers weak. Which can be made into strength, but it is the heart of Abba that His children witness to My aliveness and realness to others.” His eyes were sad and held no blame. Repetance could see the grace alive in Him!

I will speak next time my Lord, if You will help me. I will speak.” She threw her arms around Him.

Again His laughter rang out against the walls of her room and His arms returned her affection.

That is all that is required dear one.” He said, “And no more stocks, eh?” He whispered as His fulness faded. Repetance looked down at her hand and smiled at the tear that had not yet dried on her finger.

Yes, my Lord, I understand. No more stocks, and I will speak and give my many many “gifts” to You. And follow You like this finger followed Your tears. .. straight into Abba’s heart. I love You!

Simplicity of Speech

September 8, 2014 at 2:16 pm (Remodeling the Mind, Thoughts to Ponder) (, , , , , )

Speak God’s word in the language and currency of today in your life with current and simple language. Don’t use heady and high intellectual words. .. Jesus NEVER did. Yeshua “talked down” in the sense of digging down deep. .. Never in the sense of “one up-manship”. There’s no need to quote scripture after scripture in common communication. Know the Word. .. that is the Person of the Word and His application and you can quote the Word in every sentence without fail. Yeshua exampled writing and speaking The Father’s relevancy into the common activities and issues of life where people live. .. right there and then. .. He was not a pulpit… He was a Brother, Friend, and tutor of God’s way. Do as He did, follow Him. – LRV

Solid…without a doubt – Truth

Isaiah 48:3-9

I announced things that happened at the beginning, long ago; they issued from My mouth, I proclaimed them. Then suddenly I acted, and they occurred. Because I knew you were stubborn, your neck an iron sinew, your forehead bronze, I announced it to you long ago; before it occurred, I proclaimed it to you; so you could not say, ‘my idol did it, my carved image, my statue, (my intelligence, my goodness, my abilities, my gifts, my brilliance, my craftiness,) gave the order for it.’
You have heard and seen all this, so why don’t you admit it?

Now I am announcing new things to you, secret things you have not known, created now, not long ago, before today, you did not hear them: so you can’t say, ‘I already know about them.’
No, you haven’t heard, and you haven’t known; these things have not reached your ears before. For I knew how treacherous you were – you were called a rebel from the womb. Yet for the sake of My own reputation I am deferring My anger; for the sake of My praise I am patient with you, so as not to cut you off.

Workin’ It Out ~ Part 5

June 13, 2013 at 11:32 pm (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , )

The following is what one would find if they opened my Bible to Psalm 23; albeit here the notes are both more legible and readable 🙂

Sometime ago I began to start reading all the Word and making notes that spoke of how it “fed” me. Looking up words if I questioned even a little what they really mean…not how modern-day intellectualism has interpreted them. It was at the time very contrasting to me how humans “beef-up” the simplicity of Gods Word to make it appeal and appear “smart”, “learned”, and “educated”; this in contrast to the Old Testament wording God, Himself used and more importantly later Yeshua, Himself used. I urge you to check it out yourself! Yeshua said quite simply everything He said so that anyone from the learned to the unlearned could comprehend His message. I am in no way attempting to put down or dim a light on those with high IQ’s and a fondness for theoretical, cerebral, sophisticated language. God made all! Indeed He is the Supreme Intelligentsia!! Yet when God chooses to speak to His children He makes it simple! I believe this is because pride and arrogance is a “thorn” that inhabits an ultra “smart” person to a degree not found in the “less smart”. Our society fairly screams “GET SMART”! We have “smart” phones now ya know. If you don’t have a “smart” phone now you live in the “dark-ages”. This is the spirit of this world, of which we are to understand is not of importance! As God leads must one pursue “higher education” only as He leads! Not for security that this world advertises as “security”. Most importantly though, God never leaves anyone out. In order to accomplish this He speaks in such a way that all – from politicians, academic, literary, genius, clever, lawyer, doctor, nurse, factory worker, weed puller, slow, and simple – all are without excuse to “work it out” and know Him!
So I asked Him…”Speak to me Abba, Yeshua, Spirit of the Living God. You know my limits and my incapacitations, You understand how to get me to understand. I will apply my time and effort…You lead me in the Way of learning.”
This (below) is a result and evidence of His Answer 🙂

Psalms 23

Adonai (the Lord God) is my Shepherd; – You O God tend to me everyday; protecting, leading me to nutrition and all I need daily
I lack nothing. – Because He is, I have no other needs.
He has me lie down in grassy pastures, – full of nutrients and rest
He leads me by quiet water, – peace, inner calm with Him
He restores my inner person. – makes me new, renovates, changes/transforms into a child of His Glory
He guides me in right paths – the way He has planned for me
for the sake of His own Name – for His glory and always my good and all those I effect
Even if I pass through death-dark ravines, – scarey, unknown, lonely, foggy, hard and full of war
I will fear no disaster; for You are with me; – if You are for me, with me, attending, guiding all that effects me; nothing can be against me or harm me
Your Rod (correction) and Staff (guidance/instruction) reassure me. – my hope set before me…Yeshua (Jesus)!

You prepare a table for me, -a well timed meal of fellowship
even as my enemies watch; – You are not ashamed of me; shame and condemnation will watch!!
You anoint my head with oil – You cover my mind with the protection of Your Spirit
from an overflowing cup. – my lamp never goes out; rivers of Living Water for never ending thirst of Your righteousness, truth, love, trust. Isaiah 12:3 ~ Then you will joyfully draw water from the springs of salvation. ~ Isaiah 58:11 ~ Adonai will always guide you; He will satisfy your needs in the desert, He will renew the strength in your limbs; so that you will be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails. ~ John 4:14 ~ but whoever drinks the water I (Yeshua) will give him will never be thirsty again! On the contrary, the water I give him will become a spring of water inside him, welling up into eternal life! ~ John 7:38 ~ Whoever puts his trust in Me (Yeshua), as the Scripture says, rivers of living water will flow from his inmost being!
Goodness (all that is functional and worthy) and grace (all that I cannot merit/earn) will pursue me – has been sent out after me
everyday of my life; and I will live in the house of Adonai for years and years to come. – From within, where You live now, and in every conceivable and even inconceivable to me now way very soon! In Union with You!

It is only in Him that the soul has room. In knowing Him is life and its gladness. The secret of your own heart – you can never know; but you can know Him – who knows its secret. ~ George MacDonald

Psalms 139:23-24

Examine me, God, and know my heart; test me, and know my thoughts. See if there is in me any hurtful way, and lead me along the eternal Way.
