Who do you say that He is?
Genesis 1:27; 2:7; 15; 18; 21-25 (emphasis mine, but HIS idea)
So God created human kind in His own image; in the image of God He created him. Male and female He created them.
Then, Adonai, God, formed a person from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of Life, so that he became a living being.
Adonai, God, took the person and put him in the garden of Eden to cultivate and care for it.
Adonai, God, said, “It isn’t good that the person should be alone. I will make for him a companion suitable for helping him.
Then God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the person; and while he was sleeping, He took one of his ribs and closed up the place from which He took it with flesh. The rib which Adonai, God, had taken from the person, He made a woman-person and He brought her to the man-person. The man-person said, “At last! This is bone of my bones and flesh from my flesh. She is to be called Woman because she was taken out of Man. This is why a man is to leave his father and mother and stick with his wife, and they are to be one flesh. They were both naked, the man and his wife, AND THEY WERE NOT ASHAMED!
2 Kings 19:25-28
Haven’t you heard? Long ago I made it; in antiquity I produced it; and now I Am making it happen: you are turning fortified cities into heaps of ruins; while their inhabitants, shorn of power, are disheartened and ashamed, weak as grass, frail as plants, like grass in the rooftops or grain scorched by the east wind.
But I know when you sit, when you leave, when you enter – and when you rage against Me. And because of your rage against Me, because of your pride that has reached My ears, I Am putting My hook in your nose and My bridle on your lips; and I will make you return by the way on which you came.
But He too is wise and can bring disaster, and He does not take back His Words; He will rise against the house of evil doers and against the help of those who do wrong.
I Am arming you, although you don’t know Me, so that those from the east and those from the west will know that there is none besides Me – I Am Adonai; there is no other. I form Light, I create darkness; I make well-being, I create woe; I, Adonai, do all these things.
You were at ease in your wickedness, you thought, “no one sees me.” Your “wisdom” and your “knowledge” perverted you, as you thought to yourself, “I am important, and no one else.” Yet disaster will befall you, and you won’t know how to charm it away; calamity will come upon you, and you won’t be able to turn it aside; ruin will overcome you, suddenly, before you know it. So, for now, keep on with your powerful spells and your many occult practices; from childhood you have been working at them; maybe they will do you some good, maybe you will inspire terror! You are worn out with all your consultations – so let the astrologers and stargazers, the monthly horoscope-makers, come forward now and save you from the things that will come upon you! Look! They will be like straw! The fire will consume them. They will not save even themselves from the power of the flame. It will not be coals for warming oneself, not a fire to sit beside! So much for your wizards, with whom you have worked all your life!
He sent darkness, and the land grew dark; they did not defy His Word!
Who can say something and have it happen without Adonai’s commanding it? Don’t both bad and good proceed from the mouth of the Most High? Why should anyone complain, even a strong man, about the punishment for his sins? Let us examine and test our ways and return to Adonai.
Matthew 24:6; 10-13
…see to it that you don’t become frightened. Such things must happen, but the end is yet to come.
At that time many will be trapped into betraying and hating each other, many false prophets will appear and fool many people; and many people’s love will grow cold because of increased distance from Torah. But whoever holds out till the end will be delivered. And this Good News about the Kingdom will be announced throughout the whole world as a witness to all the Goyim (gentiles). It is then that the end will come.
He who has ears, let him hear!
Stand at the Crossroads and shout Truth where it may be heard! The Lord God Almighty, is at work and our rest is close at hand!
🔯Grace and peace to you in Yeshua the Messiah!🕎
In a crowd of weary of waiting people, one turned to the other next to them and said.
“So how long have you been here. I’m going on two hours almost! There were 6 people helping when I arrived. Three have since left! Just disappeared, gone to break or lunch with all these people stacking up like sardines! The last lady I sat next to waited for three hours and 22 minutes only to get up there and be missing a paper and told to come back! Hmphfft! If I wasn’t a “Christian” I’d give my mind to them! Anywhere else they can track your identity down to the pennies in our accounts but here one piece of paper and they say they can’t! Its ridiculous!”
The other listened and smiled and replied.
“I’ve been here a little over an hour. It’s certainly an opportunity to forgive when our patience wears thin and judgement kicks in, huh?”
The one looked at the other and rolled their eyes.
“Like I said, it’s a good thing I’m a Christian.” The one said with a chuckle.
“Yes, it is definitely the advantage to be under the control of Christ in situations like this. It’s an opportunity to put ones eternal muscles in action! Then I can give thanks for the time it takes for my number to be called! I find I need more time to give Him my sacrifice of offense and judgement almost every time!”
The one looked at the other and spoke with their countenance a great deal of confusion. The appearance on the outside was one of surprise.
“Sacrifice of offense and judgement?”, asked the one, “what does that have to do with this! There is righteous anger. And I’m not judging. .. like I said I’m keeping my thoughts to myself!”
The other was quiet. Leaning into the ones searching for answers and praying.
The one spoke again.
“Well. ..I told you but I forgive the workers by not complaining to their faces. I mean look at the people flowing in, I couldn’t just go off to break with so many people needing help! ”
Again the other listened and prayed and waited.
“I mean everyone has to do this or we can’t be “legal”… Yet they act as if we should just be okay missing work! I have bills to pay!” Continued the one.
The other smiled and looked directly at the one and said.
“Like I said we need the time for Him to show us how to live forgiveness. What we think we have a right to is always less than nothing.”
The one huffed and said.
“So you’re saying I don’t have a right to feel what I do?”
“No.” Whispered the other.
“No, you’re not saying that or no I don’t have a right?” The impatient one inquired.
“Yes.” Came the answer from the other.
There was a time of silence then. The one mawing and chewing, squirming and stewing. The other waiting. A while went by and the one burst forth.
“So what do you mean about sacrificing offense and judgement? I assume you are a Christian to by your words but the way you put them is confusing.”
“Well. Jesus said we are to forgive. So I suppose it depends on how you think He means it. If He died for all offense and judgement, which is the by-product of unforgiveness, then by “right” He is the only One with the “right” to be offended or to judge. So I find that the application of the “old or former ways” in the Bible that are not thrown out but made complete by Him is that in my mind, my thoughts, is where His greatest work is done. I put my rights to offense and my tendency to judge as a result on the alter and offer them up to Him. It’s like the equivalent of 10 bulls, 20 spotless lambs, and 100 bowls of grain and incense. I literally give up my right to feel offense and think judgemental thoughts and then work my thoughts into all that which is of Heaven. Forgiving starts inside by acknowledging the truth. .. I really have no right to feel offense because if I’m a Christ follower, that “right” I have given to Him because I recognize that He purchased the “rights” by not taking up the right against me.” Responded the other.
“But. .. that would mean that unforgiveness the way you just put it is the end all be all of sin!” The one said incredulously.
“Name a sin that at its heart that isn’t the root of unforgiveness.” Replied the other.
“Oh, that’s easy. .. stealing. .. lying. .. cheating. .. adultery. .. Gosh I can’t see the connection in almost any sin and unforgiveness being the root as you put it! ” replied the one.
The other sat a moment and waited. Pregnant pauses often give birth to truth. Though admitably they feel awkward.
“If one steals. .. They likely feel offended that they don’t have and think they should – offense and judgement. If one lies they likely judge that they should because of an offense they perceive would be taken or given. If one cheats, is it not because they are offended by the work of not cheating and there-by judge that it’s excusable to cheat? And adultery! How often do you see an adulterer who isn’t at their root unforgiving and there-by fornicating as a result of offensive judgement?” The other spoke.
“Oh.” Said the one.
At that moment the ones number was called and they went up to tend their business. The words of the other ringing in their ears so loudly that they forgot their offense of their original gripe and didn’t even notice that another hour had passed before their number was called.
Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah
Because you are not to bow down to any other god; since Adonai (the Lord) – whose very name is Jealous – is a jealous God.
For Adonai your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
“You are to have no other gods before Me. You are not to make for yourselves a carved image or any kind of representation of anything in heaven above, on the earth beneath or in the water below the shoreline – you are not to bow down before them or serve them; for I, Adonai your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents, also the third and forth generations of those who hate Me, but displaying grace to the THOUSANDTH generation of those who LOVE Me and obey My mitzvot.(instructions)
Even then, His Voice shook the earth; but now, He has made this promise:
“One more time I will shake not only the earth, but heaven too!” (Haggai 2:6;21)
And this phrase, “one more time,” makes clear that the things shaken are removed, since they are created things, so that the things not shaken may remain. Therefore, since we have received an unshakable Kingdom, let us have grace, through which we may offer service that will please God, with reverence and fear. For indeed,
“Our God is a consuming fire!” (Deut. 4:24; 9:3; Isaiah 33:14)
Jealousy – this is by far one of the most difficult concepts for many who follow Yeshua (Jesus) to understand. As it relates in human to human relationship can get confusing if not understood from Adonai’s perspective. Whether its in marriage or any other relationship. Jealous in these scriptures above define God as protective! Everything belongs to Him. Every human conceived, every speck of dust…everything! He alone has the “right of ownership” of anything. Even our children, whom we are most likely to feel as “ours” are not ours by “ownership”. In marriage…jealousy kills because – and especially in our culture of “having rights” we feel entitled to our spouses. The key word here is entitled. This is where we can go very very wrong. No one is entitled to anything about or concerning another human being. Period. For those of us with children and spouses this is a very humbling truth. Only God is “entitled” to anything and everything about those He has created. So in marriage, when the expectation arises that our spouse “withholds” nothing from us this morphs into a form of idolatry.
My husband, Sam, is very quiet. He is not verbal and can struggle to put words to his mind and emotions. When we first got married, we both, under the stewartship of “godly counsel” sought to “heal” him of this. Our hearts were pure in motive, truly believing that God would allow Sam to become able and willing to share everything with me, his wife. Indeed, God does enable Sam to express anything, but He does not always ask him to. This was a tough lesson…for us both. He simply said, “You are not entitled to everything about each other. Some things are Mine alone, as you are both My children. I may withhold from even a wife or husband anything I choose. It will always be for both of your good. Trust Me, and you will always receive from each other what you need, likewise, you will need to come to Me for that which I do not enable each of you to give to each other.”
It takes much humbleness of heart and determination to trust God alone to obey such words. Marriage does not entitle one to another, it offers all God would give to two people. When we understand that only Adonai can be jealous in righteousness and without sin, we begin to open our eyes to the truth and begin to cast aside our own rights to Him. In the area of fidelity…this is obvious. Unfaithfulness of flesh is sin. Our physical bodies truly belong to God, and when we marry, we make a covenant to God that even what others besides our spouse see is kept reserved for our spouse and God alone. So even our dress habits must come under God’s instruction.
In America and many democratic/republic “free” mentalities – “rights” have taken a repulsive turn into entitlement, and it breaks Adonai’s heart. Hence the reason so many feel entitled to divorce for such things as “irreconcilable differences”. It is not God’s way that we shall always agree. It is His way that unity can still come under His blessing even if we don’t agree. Often the air of conflict and disagreement are the road He puts each one on to work on each heart to train each one to trust in Him! This is the fire of Adonai’s consumption! Turning hearts away from the shakeable and created to the Unshakable and Creator. Its our discomfort that teaches us to seek the Comforter. With spouses the enemies objective will always be to turn the spouse into the object of our worship. So, too, with our children. We are instructed by God not to be jealous or envious for anything created because we have absolutely no power to create! Only Adonai ever has, ever will. And all things and people are His Creation.
Note: the word fire in the scriptures above refers to a “strong pressing down” that creates a burning off of sin. Like rubbing two pieces of wood together. The fire is often the hardness of circumstances… that consumes the wrong perspective leaving only ashes of the incorrect ways and God makes from those ashes the beauty of His Ways.
Relationships are hard…because it always involves two unique and separate people coming together to walk a similar road together. Each individual is still meant to be separate and unique before God, yet in marriage there is a oneness of heart and mind of two who seek to serve Him together. We are not supposed to think exactly alike, nor even do the exact same services. My gifting for the body of Yeshua is different than Sam’s. We support each other as God, often, uses us differently; but to expect myself to “be like Sam” or Sam “to be like myself” is utterly contadictive to how God works. I value and encourage my spouses uniqueness and his call. If I become jealous, either that he would enter into mine or me into his, the fire (discomfort) begins its work and we learn…that though we are together – we are still Adonai’s to move and often it is in a different direction in the Kingdom. We then trust that He who called us will keep His end of our covenant and keep us together as He wills. Almost everything we experience in this life challenges us to turn hard into the wind of trust in a God who often does not show us what’s around the corner. Every relationship will be used to turn us towards our first Love, Adonai, the Father, the Husband of us all. Only He sacrifices everything for us. He shows us how He does it often in our marriages. Sometimes it gets shown by how we fail each other. So we then reevaluate our source of complete Faithfulness, not our spouses, children, friends and family, but the One who Created us all and has us in His hands and timing exactly as He knows we need, but often our limited views would disagree with Him. So we trust and obey and wait upon the God whose speciality is making unity, order and peace.
Back when God gave the Words above, people literally made carved images and bowed down to worship them. Today we don’t do this quite the same. Now we make money and its “security” an idol, we make people our idols, we make our comfort our idols. Its hard work to carve such images and we have learned there’s no need to do so…but worship them we still do. By relying upon them to be what we think they should be and perform in ways we think they should perform. God is simply telling us He knows what we need and how things should work for us best. His instruction is to rely upon Him – the Reliable One who makes all things. His jealousy is protective not possessive as in mine, mine, mine, like a selfish child with a toy.
But rather His voice rings out in a lovers sonata
“You are mine, My desire is for you, I can lead and direct you to My Kingdom! It’s full of possibilities you can not fathom, you are the one I long for…I desire to see you as I formed you in My mind far before you were conceived in your mothers womb. Trust Me! I will never fail you…ever! I am your Husband-Maker and I can complete your life, indeed you shall never die in My arms!”
Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah ❤
Adonai (Lord), I call to You from the depths; hear my cry, Adonai!
Let Your ears pay attention to the sound of my pleading.
Yah, (God) if You kept a record of sins, who, Adonai, could stand?
But with You there is forgiveness, so that You will be feared.
I wait longingly for Adonai; I put my hope in His Word.
Everything in me waits for Adonai, more than guards on watch wait for morning, more than guards on watch wait for morning.
Isra’el, put your hope in Adonai! For grace is found with Adonai, and with Him is unlimited redemption.
He will redeem Isra’el from all their wrongdoings.
Make me hear of Your love in the morning, because I rely on You. Make me know the way I should walk because I entrust myself to You.
Did you know there is no concept in God’s Word called independence as most understand it. That thing that says “I don’t need anything but me and freedom to do what I want.”
The 4th of July came and went and the Spirit kept “tugging” on me with the word independence. I figured, at first, I knew what He was saying…listened to Him speak a bit to my heart. Yet, the old urge to speak back…errrr…ask a billion questions kept His “boot” on my butt 🙂
The week was FULL!! Full of His glory, full of His presence, full of activities, full of…distractions. It was odd. Someone praised God for freedom and in the same sentence famed us for finding it in spite of England. My heart sunk…did we?
England traversed the world of “independence” long before the Indians ever saw an Englishman. I know we taught the Indians nothing about freedom. They tried to teach us…but we wouldn’t listen. We came, conquered, and bound up those who were truly free. Sure we fought the tyranny of religious harassment by a government based on human wisdom, but then we shot ourselves in the foot by stealing and killing innocents and just like England tried to placate our conscience by “giving a marginal piece of earth back”. While we here in the United States of America throw parties and watch fireworks, laughing and patting ourselves on our backs for “freedom” – God grieves. We have no clue what our “fight for freedom” means because we think its about us. Freedom in the Word, in the Kingdom of Heaven Yeshua (Jesus) spoke of, is complete dependence on God, the Father. There is no me, my, freedom – only what’s been given to all by God, period.
You can likely understand why my questions hurled heavenward at mach 10. The above was…hard. Not celebratory, humbling and pulled the sparks from my “works” if ya know what I mean. Aren’t we to be constantly in cheer? Thanking God for everything? So I pressed into resisting the “drag” the “Tugger” was intent on slowing me down with.
Its hard to celebrate when Adonai, Himself is grieving…at least it is to me. I thought at first it was just Montana blue’s (4th of July at Flathead lake in Kalispell, Montana is beyond description). I was missing my “home”…not Home. Ahhh….a light began to dawn! Freedom is so very different to Abba God, and though we are full of ceaseless sin and error, Yeshua was sent and obediently went to gain freedom for every single human being ever to and has ever existed. Indians…Africans…German…Russian…Chinese…Israeli…American…Australian…Canadian…
French…Arab…Egyptian…English…Phillipian…and every nation under Heaven. But no fireworks go off even once a year for this freedom.
Yes, Lord, I can grieve with You.
Who first put fireworks in the sky?
Who created the human who discovered gun powder? Who created every single human who has worked to make fireworks better and more awesome with time? As for England, PRAISE GOD for those who depended totally on HIM way before America was born! God forgive us Americans for thinking independence is about the freedom to serve Him at our leisure, our wisdom, our discretion. And lo, not just Americans, but the entire human race! God forgive us for our freedom, and teach us ever so faithfully His! May we all become more dependent on Him and CELEBRATE our neediness for HIM! May we mount up like eagles…and know the Wind that calls us forth; never can nor will come at our own hand. God be praised for His patience and love! For without it…surely “Independence Day” would have blown up in every face on earth!

In all that must be done, the doer ranks in God’s sight, and ought to rank among his fellowmen, according to how he does it. The higher the calling, the more contemptible the man who pursues his own ends in it. And the humblest calling, followed on the principles of God, is a true and divine calling, be it handicraft, shopkeeping, shoemaking, or bookbinding. Oh, for the day when God and not king shall be regarded as the fountain of honor! ~ George MacDonald
I and many other dear kindred spirits have spent much time asking God what if anything He would have us do or say to speak out against the lies and deception of our current government system.
Its a tangled web of issues and overwhelms my heart. What is the heart of God in “fighting for what’s ‘right'”?? Wisdom beyond the dictates of my experience and years of “learning” are essential to this issue, and my heart didn’t/doesn’t mind the wait for His instead of my own. For the issues that have risen to the “surface” for all to see, but covers the more deadly layers of each individual soul that stretches far beyond the years of my formal existence accounts for. A million desires for comfort have led to more deadly compromise than any “moral” outward appearing failure. For the second comfort and its illusionary attainability becomes the goal of any one individual, their very selves have contributed to the abominable mess every evil seeks to corrode. No one escapes this temptation. As all have sinned and fallen short, so to, every soul on earth seeks to be comfortable more than content. The “people rise up in fury” towards a government of their own making; either by avoidance, ignorance, or outright refusal to the One who says how best a soul can live.
I have found, that in my asking Him for the wisdom and courage to stand, He starts here; by showing me where I lost opportunities to do so in the ever so small things and graduated to the larger by rote. I see so many who are screaming their outrage at the evils of their government but failing to look within to that which is “governing” their own inner world. Its hypocrisy.
Its a sad state of soul for one to look down on a government with disdain – however “justified” because of its evil practices – while taking refuge in what it provides because of an unrighteous sense of “justice” being made by the taking of it.
(An example: cheating on tax returns because the gov’t over taxes in the first place)
To cheat the government is to cheat one’s self before the Author of Life and Goodness, Peace and Contentment. And cheats the God upon whom that government rest on His shoulders. One adds to the weight of the burden all the while thinking its “their right” to do so.
For myself to “do the right and true thing” before God, irregardless of whether it seems to make a difference, or esteems anyone else around me, or effects what I see as the larger picture, this is what MacDonald’s last sentence implies! To insult and go on and on with pointed barbs at government figures screams our own lack of trust in the God who is actually at the head of all events, governments, and actions. We have hardest to accept when God gives and takes away. The giving allures a comfort, the taking away gives birth to the offspring of contentment…in His will being done.
God cares little for what mankind see’s as their “rights” unless it gives over their selves to another. (Which essentially gives up a “right”) Becoming non-essential to the accounting of it.
The balance is found only in Him, and we are either for Him or against Him. The blessed hope, grace, mercy that can not be taken away is that we all have the ability to speak with, and listen; learn from and submit to Him who does all things well…everyday. It will require all our energy, moving towards Him alone to know what and how any given moment is asking of us in “doing the right and true thing”. The Kingdom principles always apply to us, within and without first.
And if this is truth, then what would governments, households, and communities the world over look like?
We shall see one day, its a promise that grows contentment over comfort a hundred thousand fold in the soil of those who feed in the pastures of His Kingdom.
