We come to love God by spending time in His presence. It is exposure to Him that deepens our love. Education in theology will not do it. Ritual will not do it. God will do it Himself within us as we seek His face and His Holy Spirit within our hearts communes in prayer with God the Father and Jesus, our Lord.

When this chain of communion begins to operate and the Spirit within us is fellowshipping with God the Father, through Jesus, our great High Priest, the transforming power of God moves in and through the human vessel doing a purifying work beyond our comprehension. Old things begin to pass away, and all things become new. Shadows are dispelled and darkness is dispersed by the light. Stubborn bones are broken, and the will begins to yield to conform to the image of Christ. Things that used to master are no longer important, doing the will of God becomes a consuming passion. Chaff is blown away by the wind of the Spirit. His voice becomes as beautiful music to our ears, and any contrary voice is an immediate strident discord. This is how His sheep hear and recognize His voice and will not follow the voice of a stranger.

Adoption, Disciple, Enlistment – A Call to War – 15

October 8, 2014 at 1:37 am (Devotionals, Remodeling the Mind, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , )

The Christian in Complete Armour by William Gurnall. Pages 47-49

☆ The Five-fold Bond Securing God’s Power ☆

1. His Near Kinship to His Followers

The relationship God has with His followers assures His power on their behalf. You are His own dear Child, and most parents take care of their own. Even the silly hen scurries to gather her brood under her wing when trouble appears. * How much more will God, who is the Father of such instincts in His creatures, stir up His whole strength to defend you? A mother in her house hears a sudden cry outside and, knowing the voice, says at once, ‘That is my child!’ She drops everything and runs to him. God responds as with a mother’s heart to the cries of His children.

2. His Dear Love for His Followers

God’s love for His followers sets His power in motion. He who has God’s heart does not lack for His arm. Love rallies all other affections and sets the powers of the whole man into action. Thus, in God, love sets His other attributes to work; all are ready to bring about what God says He likes. God considers all His creatures, but the believing soul is an object of His choicest love – even the love with which He loves His Son (John 17:26)

When a soul believes, then God’s eternal purpose and counsel concerning him – whom He chose in Christ before the foundation of the world – is brought to term. * Can you imagine the love God has for a child He has carried so long in the womb of His Eternal purpose? If God delighted in His plan before He spoke the world into being, how much greater is His delight to witness the full fruition of His labor – a believing soul. Having performed His own will thus far, God will surely raise all the power He has on that believers behalf, rather than be robbed of His glory within a few steps of Home.

God showed us how much a soul is worth by the purchase price He paid. It cost Him dearly, and that which is so hard won will not be easily given up. He spent His Son’s blood to purchase you, and He will spend His own power to keep you.

As an earthly parent you rejoice to see your own good qualities reproduced in your children. God, the perfect parent, longs to see His attributes reflected in His followers. It is the image of God reflected in you that so enrages hell; it is this at which the demons hurl their mightiest weapons. When God defends you, He also defends Himself. Now knowing that the quarrel is God’s, surely He will not have you go forth to war at your own expense!

– to be continued. ..
☆ Questions for further digestion ☆

♡When we are asked to stand, do you realize its simply under the banner that says, “The One true God loves me!”?

♡ If you have a fierce and protective love for a loved one. Can you see that this too is the very image of God in you?

♡ And if it be a mere image of Him inside you (this protective love); is there ever a reason to fear anything for the one you love so?

♡ How do you see that the enemy attempts to rob you in fearing for yourself or someone you love?

♡ What does fear ultimately say about how much you believe and trust in God’s love, which will always supercede ours?

♡ Can you see why Yeshua (Jesus) said to “yoke yourself to Him”? (to come under the burden and let Him pull the load)

The Father in heaven even made sure the Son, as He carried the cross up the hill to Golgotha, brought along another to help Him fulfill His will. He does not need those He uses to even want to serve His purpose. .. He often brings us along somewhat resistant and as we do the thing He is doing. .. we then find our wills pulled into His as if by some strange miracle and quite without our ability to completely connect why or how.

Hidden in Your Whisper

October 24, 2012 at 4:24 am (Poems) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

A softly breathed intention
Born upon the wings and wind of Love
Encased, entwined a heart Divined
Sweetly spoken purpose

Aglow inside the rushing air
The Spirit runs and swings aflare
The womb-safe place that brought me there
Was hidden in Your whisper

Laminated and fused
To the very breath
Of Life suffused
Along the sweeps and swirls arose
A Voice now getting crisper

The lisp of call and re-enter
I am hidden in Your Whisper
Enclosed inside
Your Son’s sweet side
The dust starts to remember

And blood is reborn
Made to become the Life
Of this dear sister
Flowing down, it can’t resist her
A promise becomes the sky
Living water deep inside
Death begins to die

All I am is newly spoken
Hidden within Your whisper
Born out upon the wind of God
The rainbow reminds
The Promise Maker

Oh make of me
Of that insistent wind
That became the Son of Promise
A Messiah song
Singing along
While I am Hidden
Within His whisper

The crack and thunder
Of His voice asunder
“Father into Your Hands I come!”
Instant flood
The precious Blood
Cried “Now Your will is done!”

Here I stand
A thousand year strand
A Child of the Resistor
Oh keep me here
Immune to fear
Hidden within Your Whisper
