Psalms 39:4-5; 90:11-12; 31:14-15
Make me grasp, Adonai, what my end must be, what it means that my days are numbered; let me know what a transient creature I am. You have made my days like handsbreaths; for You the length of my life is like nothing.
Who grasps the power of Your anger and wrath to the degree that the fear due You should inspire? So teach us to count our days so that we will become wise.
But I, trust in You, Adonai; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your Hand; rescue me from my enemies power, from those who persecute me.
Lazybones! How long will you lie there in bed? When will you get up from your sleep? “I’ll just lie here a bit, rest a little longer, just fold my hands for a little more sleep” – and poverty comes matching in on you, scarcity hits you like an invading soldier. (Thief during war).
So we’re back to; what could be causing a state of sleepiness in us. Time is a funny thing, the more we get, the less we value it. I know for myself, time alone isn’t the only thing that seems to dim with abundance. Yet lets take a good look at what caused the people to miss the coming Messiah the first time. First among these would apply to their state of mind right at the time He had entered their midst. Time can weaken resolve, commitment, passion and alertness. We know this in its very basic nature, when we are up for 18-20 hours of a day, the time seems to weaken us as it ticks by. We get tired. I’m pretty sure it’s not needed to explain how impatience grows thick, like a blanket with warmth to compell the eyes to shut. The people of that day were asleep in waiting, Time wasn’t doing its job to their liking.
This drowsiness made them susceptible to deception and hence they forgot where they were to look for Him. Coupled with this deception came delusion that suggested that time was now something they had possession of to do with as they pleased. It’s almost as if, when time stretches out across our hopes, we ‘pay it back’ by giving up. Strange, huh? It’s the ‘cutting off ones nose to kill a flea’. This generation and those since the Messiah’s cloud ride back to Heaven fits right in with those that waited thousands of years for His first promised appearing. God’s not fast enough for us most of the time. That is, until He acts, and then we’re begging to catch up! His first coming fulfilled four of the seven practice rehearsal appointments (Feast) that we have been commanded to keep, in quick order. One day there were seven, ninety days later there were three! God got alot done in short order! They were reeling. At least those who woke up enough to know who Yeshua was before He went back, leaving us with the promise of His return.
It begs more questions:
Is time given to us to spend as we please? (Yeshua’s parable of the investments) Can impatience really make one completely clueless to what’s really going on around us?
Let’s be fair. The Tanakh did not have all these words strung together all in one sequence for them to see.
I will send you, Yeshua Ben Yoseph, Ben Yahweh, and you will want to reject Him, but don’t! He will heal the sick, raise the dead, and be given power to forgive sins before He will willing go to the Cross as the sacrifice Lamb for the whole world, you will kill Him, and I shall raise Him back up in three days time. He will then be found again among you, and give you My last Words before He comes back to My Right Hand in victory to prepare all things for the time I will send Him back to the Wedding for which you are being prepared for and those who will come after you. To vindicate My chosen Ones and end the Tyranny of the Evil ones!”
Nope, this string of words won’t be found all in one book or passage. Yet, they are all there. Spread out like a bridge of Love from Heaven to earth. It took all the Time that made up the Tanakh to get them down just so.
We tend to forget that God’s enemy is watching too. God is smarter, but He’s not Thor the egotistical god that needs to prove He’s God and better than the deciever. Crafty is this enemy, yes, no doubt. So God will out-craft him! And indeed! The deceiver was surprised at His coming the first Time. Sadly he (the enemy) worked hard to make sure no one would wake up in time to see Him. For way too many, Yeshua’s attempt to rouse them was as rejected as He was. So did this surprise God? Nope. Time is God and God is Time. All He is, was and ever shall be, do, say, think, is Him! I Am that I Am! In other words, if He isn’t, then there isn’t anything! His plans and ways are perfect, unlike any kind of perfect we can conceive. Though when you know Him, you begin to see, as through a mirror dimly, but still it’s enough for make us trust Him if we seek Him, without ceasing. His second coming will follow the same pattern as the first. He will be on Time and His enemy will be shocked again, with no pigs left to escape into.
There were important details in the Tanakh to get done prior to His Hand of action coming in swiftly as it did then. Sadly, too many are not taught that the beginning contains the end and the end the beginning. There are signs people grossly miss by not seeing the Bible as a Complete Book. There are over 500 “old testament” references in Revelation alone! This is why people lose heart waiting, the deceiver has put to sleep a vital part of seeing God work exactly as He promised, and His Timing is as precise as the entire Word of God reveals! Yet again, there are vital things that have been at work by God all this Time. As we walk with Him faithfully, we stop being self absorbed about our time and stay true to Time, Himself! The only one being left out on the plan and timing is the enemy! God is busy protecting us! Making sure all that can be awakened will be, making sure the Bride is worthy of Him, making sure all have had a chance to go to the dress rehearsals that remain to be prepared for the Wedding. This is all that is left to do. Oh, sure there is the reckoning to the enemy and his hordes, to those who persecuted and will persecute the Bride. But! We are the apple of His eye! As He is to be ours! Nothing is delayed, nothing is being left out. His victory is sure and our delight in Him is not unfounded! We must not allow ourselves to fall asleep. This action He has placed in our choosing.
1 Corinthians 3:18
Let no one fool himself.
Awake! Awake! Zion! Clothe yourself with your strength! (Our strength is His Voice!) Daniel 10:17-19 – For how can this servant of my Lord speak with my lord, when my strength and breath have failed me? Then, again, someone who looked human touched me and revived me. He said, “You man so greatly loved, don’t be afraid. Shalom (peace) to you; and be strong, yes, truly strong.” His speaking to me strengthened me, and I said, “My Lord keep speaking; because you’ve given me strength.”
…Get up, sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you!
It’s our choice to fall asleep, and our choice to wake up. We only feel trapped by weariness when we have fallen behind and not kept up to hear our Shepherds Voice which keeps the deception from having access to our ability to see.
Let me clarify here. There is s difference between a righteous fatigue and a willful “nap”.The former does not steal our ability to remain steadfast. The latter does, and can cause such delusion so as to make one think they are awake when they are not. This is why we need the body to reflect to the eyes that they are closed. Put into the simplist literal terms. When we are not at attention, we bump into things and it hurts, the part of the body that took the blow, sends the cry to the eyes to…Pay Attention! Wake up! Unnecessary pain, does that. Unwarranted pain is different (persecution).
Exhortation in the Body of Messiah must renew it’s STRENGTH in Him! Full of love, but without hesitation to give a good tap to wake those who are falling asleep. We are all, each one of us, the little second and minute marks of God’s Timepiece where He has us. We must not be put to sleep because we want to be 15 seconds earlier or 25 seconds faster when it’s the Last Hour! Every second is full of such meaning! Full of so much of Him! Let’s not miss it!
The concept of God being Time itself may seem a bit odd. In part 3, we’ll dig deeper into this. Until then, search for Him yourself…you’ll find Time to be very different as you do.
🔯 May the Grace of Adonai cover you, may the Mercy of Adonai motivate you, may the Truth be the light that fails you not, may the Way be the joy of your hours, and may the Love of Yeshua woo, awaken and move you in all you do🔯
Whoever has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me, and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.
Remember the movie in the picture above? The Master told the student to wax the cars, and was specific how, paint the fence, sand the floor, and so on. Days of all these “chores” in the mind of Daniel was putting off his training to become an expert in karate. Tedious and mundane, hard, sweaty work, and days later irritation and confusion drive the student to challenge the Masters methods. Everyone in the audience had to pull their jaw up off the floor after the Master showed the student how each task had indeed trained without the mindset of fighting. It was brilliant! The student paid very close attention to do all that was asked of him from that point, realizing that even if it seemed irrelevant, he’d learn later, there is no such thing.
It was a cunning and master stroke of writing – that movie. I know Who was behind it. The Master of all, Adonai, the creator of the Universe. This was the purpose of the movie, not the love story, though it was nice (clean, remember those days?), not the picking on and fighting back of teenagers; but the contrast of two teachers and their students, their method and motive, how like mirrors the students of the bad teacher were, and yet unique, still individual Daniel was under the teaching hand of Miyagi. He taught through life, he taught through patience and peace, first to achieve those things in the student, then to practice it in karate.
The quote above in the picture is exactly what God does. There’s a saying; “man says, ‘show me and I’ll trust you,’ God says, ‘trust Me and I’ll show you.’
A true statement! Horizontally (man to man) this is exactly how we should be. Vertically (man to God) trust comes with much earned credit from God. It should be automatic from us, then He shows us, like Miyagi how the obeying of Him has armed us, humbled us, and transformed us into the people He created us to be when we were not yet a physical reality. His commands are written in the Word, but also given into our daily lives (should we ask and listen) thus His voice leads and guides us as it did Yeshua (Jesus) and we become like our Savior. Yet, Yeshua is Yeshua and we are who we are, I’m Lisa, not Yeshua, but like Him in that I listen to and obey the Father. My believing becoming more and deeper with each action taken upon hearing His instruction. Countlessly my jaw is dropped after doing what He said, and impatiently challenging His ways, He shows me what each task taught without me knowing what was being fortified in my muscle and memory with each obedience. Thus I have a living, breathing, relationship with the Master of the Universe! Like the wind, I never know from whence I came or where I’m going at the onset of doing as He says, but I always come away full of assurance that I’m in His will and being grown into something I couldn’t imagine on my best day I could be. His child! A living Word! His love poured out through me! Like Yeshua, but yet never exactly as His perfection in such obeying far exceeds the human reckoning. God doesn’t want a bunch of ‘saviors’, He sent One, and that was and is all that’s needed. He wants children, children to come home to the real Life that He made for them.
What joy it brings to know my trust will never be ill placed in Him! Adventures follow the task of obeying! Jaw dropping moments, where my “floor sanding, fence painting, car washing” duties prove to be far more the object of the desired result than learning kicks and hits!
May the Lord give you many jaw dropping moments as these last days unfold, and may our trust in Him become solid and steady with each leap to obey! Thanking and praising Him with each action, each word, each thought. Glory to God in the Highest!

***This is a new category. When I come upon a scripture; which no scripture is ever just added for filler; yet it clearly requires the Spirit to teach beyond it. I’ll post them. Please share what the Spirit of the Lord shares with you.***
The next day, as they came back from Beit-Anyah (Bethany), He felt hungry. Spotting in the distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if He could find anything on it. When He came up to it, He found nothing but leaves; for it wasn’t fig season. He said to it, “May no one ever eat from you again!” And His talmidim (disciples) heard what He said.
That’s it, placed in the middle of the donkey fetching and His ride through Jerusalem, and His clean out of the temple, this seemingly odd thing is written. Notice, it wasn’t fig season. The fig tree was not supposed to have fruit. Did Yeshua (Jesus) throw some kind of fit? Of course, we know different. Name a fit that doesn’t involve sin.
We cannot throw what we think into this. The only way these little adds to the word gets filled in for context and meaning is by the Spirit of God alone. Hint: is there anywhere else in scripture where a tree is mentioned where the fruit or lack of it offended God? The Spirit most often takes us deeper into other parts of God’s Word to teach. This is an amazing little piece of gold dropped in Mark here. But wait! Lets look further.
In the morning, as the talmidim passed by, they saw the fig tree withered all the way to its roots. Kefa (Peter) remembered and said to Yeshua (Jesus), “Rabbi! Look! The fig tree that you have cursed is all withered up! He responded. “Have the kind of trust that comes from God!”
He goes on to say the famous: “your trust (faith) can move mountains”. All part of the teaching in this passage but not what it usually gets taught like in church. Fruit is highly important to God, all the symbolic/parabolic language is highly significant! Notice He cursed, it dried up. Where else in scripture does this happen by God? Very important when studying to go and see the “pattern”, if you will. In fact, everything God did prior to Yeshua coming, Yeshua did while He was here! This is one of the signs of Messiah! To prove Yeshua was sent by God and was God. To dive into the study of this will take a while but I promise the rewards are beyond treasure. Remember think function of all things, and dysfunction. What is each passage pointing to in regard to function and dysfunction? Good, in Hebrew is defined as functional, bad or evil is defined as dysfunctional. God made everything to function a certain way, if diverged from such way, it will be dysfunctional. Hence sin/evil, anything that doesn’t operate according to the Engineers plans. All fruit has a specific and designed function. What makes this passage so interesting is that it wasn’t “doing anything wrong”. It wasn’t fig season. Which begs the ultimate question: why did Yeshua curse it?
Time to treasure hunt! 🙂
2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it will be evident that such overwhelming power comes from God and not from us.

What is the essence of Praise?
Is it just knowing God is? How often does it come easy when He paints a wondrous sky? When He does anything to make us smile? How does one apply the sacrifice of praise? This question lays heavy on my heart theses days. Almost every believer I know (almost) doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of sacrificial praise. When asked in a poll, nine out of ten believers could not quote a scripture that speaks of sacrificial praise. May seem rather inconsequential unless you realize how often its referenced in the Word. 218 times the word sacrifice is in the Word, half of them include praise with them. In the half that doesn’t refer to praise directly with it, it gives strong indications of it being in conjuction to or related to, or a result of. ..pretty incredible.
To sacrifice means to give something up. To praise means to lift something or someone up in exaltation. Put together, as the Word repeatedly states it, we sacrifice the opposite of praise for praise of God . After all it would hardly be a sacrifice to praise God when I’m happy. It would seem these days that we have this assumption that we are entitled to our feelings. So praise can come after I’ve had my pout, rant, disappointment, hurt, anger – especially if it comes on the heals of injustice. Yet as I enter into the presence of God, and He teaches me, He clearly says to sacrifice my feelings and with all my heart, mind, and soul praise Him, especially when I can hardly dredge up a thin whisp of His praise-worthiness, this is true sacrifice. It requires faith. Faith in the God who is working at all times to and for the good of those that love Him. This is a foundational truth that must be lived. How better to live it than to practice it? Or do it. Something can’t live, as dead words on a page, it must become active to live. Dying to oneself will always come with the sacrifice of one’s feelings. Not the ignorance of them, or denial, but the will turning towards the Father and actively willing itself into the Kingdom of Praise. It’s the arm wrestle of me and my view verses God and His. Every promise He has made can be used to contradict a complaint from human lips. Yes, every single one. Noone keeps their promises like God, not one.
Someone once said, “I really can’t see one thing today that is worth praising“. For those in throws of this temptation let me share a perspective. Everyday, in order for the day to be called a day, the sun must have risen(God be praised), in order for one to be able to call a day a day, one must have been given breath to enter into it(God be praised). One may argue, “what if I wish God had taken me Home instead?” Simply put, then your will has not entered into His, for if you were willed to go Home to be with Him, your breaths would have ceased and there you would be. So. ..sacrifice your will to the sovereign God you say you believe in and thank Him for the day He has made, ask Him to change your heart and open your eyes to the gift of the day you are in and thank Him for your purpose in His will to be here, now.
What does it cost you to call yourself a follower of Christ? Have you been stoned (with real rocks, not weed) for your belief in Him? Do you know the sacrifice of not doing the thing you think you can’t live without, just because He said “Live without it.” Do we truly know that when He says that He is prophecying? Literally, if you give it up, you will really and truly live, actively putting His Word to action, faith being a real live thing working inside you. This is Life, the Life Yeshua (Jesus) came to give. The Life He lived, and now we can by the power of His Spirit live too. I can honestly say I never succeed at such sacrifice, until I’ve admitted my defeat in ability and asked for the Spirit to give me praise instead. I can’t drudge praise up on my own. So, you see the denial of the feelings that cause complaint, pout, rage, bitterness, doubt, comparison, etc – may indeed be acknowledged but not lived instead they must be sacrificed, exchanged for what we don’t possess. The only reason we reason to our advantage to keep our feelings and “work through them”, is simply because we don’t want to let them go. Not one person has ever worked through their feelings leading to life, faith in God. Read Hebrews 11. There is no mention of one hint of one person of Faith who “worked through their feelings But had faith. Not one. Every single one, sacrificed their feelings and turned towards God to obtain faith. Often our feelings are cronic lairs. Why? Because they are hitched to our comfort, our perspective, our desires, our failures, the fallen nature of this world. But, what about delight, joy, love, compassion. ..aren’t theses feelings, you ask? Depends. Depends on Who gives them to you. Do you delight at the sunset? Any question as to Who gets the credit for it? And love? This is constantly being defined by feelings, it’s not a feeling, Love is and always will be a choice. Love is sacrifice, if you don’t sacrifice for the one you say you love, you don’t love them. To sacrifice in love, one must give up something of themselves for the other. It must cost something. Another long subject for another blog, but love is not a feeling, it’s a result of feelings being yielded to Love Himself. What does the Word say about joy? I won’t answer this for you, look it up, study it, it’s not a feeling we come by as good little human beings in and of ourselves. All things good – every single good thing ever only and ever will come from God. If you experience it, thank Him for it, cause we don’t get joy without Him or compassion, or delight. One may argue; “but non-believers delight in sunsets“. So? This is evidence of the contrary of what is true about sunsets? Whether one believes or not, God made sunsets, and if one delights at one, they delight in Him, whether they acknowledge it or not. The Author of the sunset does not change, and why wouldn’t He give delight to anyone for admiring His work? That is the amazing thing about God, He doesn’t wait to be who He is, do what He does, on us to believe Him or acknowledge Him. Never has, never will. He came while we were yet sinners, remember? Yes, indeed, even the sinners are given delight in the things that come from God alone.
But, praise, sacrificial praise, this is only given to them that believe and acknowledge Him. Those without Him are quite incapable of faith. But lest, we who follow and live for God be proud, we, too are incapable without Him. The difference is, we who have let Him take over our lives, have been given the power of the Spirit of God to do the things of God. So we see, it all comes from Him, not us. This why, I believe, that nine out of every ten of those believers in that poll, had no clue about sacrificial praise. It’s the stumbling stone we trip over, living a life we get credit for vs. living a life He gets credit for. Indeed it’s a contradiction to even say, I can live my own life. My life is dead if lived for me. Only Life and God go hand in hand. Without Him, death is the only result of anything.
I belabor, but I do so at the lead of the God of Life. Read up about sacrificial praise in His Word, ask Him to expand upon it into your limbs. You’ll find, much of the walk with Him will have this sacrificial praise as it’s hallmark. It takes faith to praise God when bills are due and money is no where to pay, it takes faith to believe He is working in such detail while the over due notices are stamped out. It takes faith to praise God for accidents and floods. It takes faith to praise God for hiccups and delays. Faith is trust in action. A moving, living trust that moves our lips towards praise and our hearts, minds and bodies in line with them. Every single person on the planet has trust issues. Don’t claim that as special or unique to you. Hint, God never said to trust anyone but Him. Most the time we have trust issues, it’s because we trusted the people He made, or ourselves instead of Him in the first place. Trust issues are cured only by trusting only in God. Faith can only come from a living active trust in God. Sacrificial praise is the epitome of faith!
Trusting is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see.
Through Him, therefore, let us offer God a sacrifice of praise continually. For this is the natural product of lips that acknowledge His Name.
Offer thanksgiving as your sacrifice to God, pay your vows to the Most High, and call to Me when you are in trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.
