Awake! – Part 8 – Power/Authority

April 20, 2017 at 10:58 pm (WSGD Newes) (, , )

Matthew 28:16-20

So the eleven talmidim (disciples) went to the hill in the Galil where Yeshua (Jesus) had told them to go. When they saw Him, they prostrated themselves before Him; but some hesitated. Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim (disciples), immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.”

Luke 10:17-20

The seventy came back jubilant. “Lord”, they said, “with Your Power, even the demons submit to us!” Yeshua said to them, ” I saw satan fall like lightning from Heaven. Remember, I have given you Authority; so you can trample down snakes and scorpions, indeed, all the enemy’s forces; and you will remain completely unharmed.  Nevertheless, don’t be glad that the spirits submit to you; be glad that your names have been recorded in heaven.”

The most important thing to being awakened is getting to know Yeshua the Messiah, first and foremost! The next priority is to know what it means to have been reborn through Him into the Kingdom that is more real and more important than the one we were born into as wee babes from our mothers wombs.

Think not, for one second, that Yeshua wasn’t familiar with our temptations to be distracted by a very distracting world. Full of not just evil, but the goodness of God too.

Hebrews 4:14-16

Therefore, since we have a Great Cohen Gadol  (High Priest) who has passed through to the highest heaven, Yeshua, the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we acknowledge as true. For we do not have a Cohen Gadol unable to empathize with our weaknesses; since IN EVERY RESPECT HE WAS TEMPTED JUST AS WE ARE, the only difference being that He did not sin. Therefore, let us confidently approach the throne from which God gives grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need.

Fictionally, one could guess, that it went through His mind…

“Father, would it be so bad to remain Your faithful servant as a carpenter with Yoseph? It’s good work, with many opportunities to do Your work.”

“Father, look how Havah from the house of Samuel worships and serves You. I wonder, dear Father, what it would be like to have a wife and children such as You have made it to be?”

“Father, look, look how much You are needed here! So many blind, so many deaf, so many lost, would more time not be good?”

Of course, it’s hard to speculate such things. Yeshua has a stigma that makes such speculations feel almost blasphemous! But, I digress to the truth of Hebrews 4. I don’t think it’s possible to speculate that He was tempted to evil. But tempted to do things different than His Father in heaven desired, exactly, yes, I think it’s more than possible. Why?

Luke 22:41-43

He (Yeshua) went about a stones throw away from them, kneeled down and prayed, “Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me; still, not My will but Yours be done.” There appeared to Him an angel from Heaven giving Him strength, and in great anguish He prayed more intensely, so that His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.

Look at that verse very closely, really read it. Most people skip the most important part, emphasizing only His willingness to yield to God. Which is highly important, mind you, I agree. But let’s really look at the angel part, this angel comes to strengthen Him, God knew the temptation here needed extra attention, His compassion poured down onto our Saviour here. Yet, look! Yeshua prayed more intensely to the point of sweating like drops of blood – after – the angel came. I don’t know about you, but often when I’m at a yielding point, the strength God sends to keep me headed in His direction comes with a fight. Head knowledge alone, of the right thing to do, is not the key. It’s fighting the feelings, emotions and sometimes very physical nature to run the opposite way! So here we can see that Yeshua knows this as we do! Sometimes it’s hard to understand why it was God’s will that Yeshua not sin, and that He moved heaven and earth to keep that from happening, when it would seem that it’s God’s will that we sin. It doesn’t seem fair.

For those of us who understand the very nature of God’s plan through Yeshua from the beginning of time I need not break this down for you. For those of you who are stuck on this part of God and His nature and plan, may I suggest you study from the beginning (Genesis) asking Him, Himself to reveal to you the difference between us and Yeshua. This is the only way you will know for sure. There are hundreds of teachings on it, yes, but true knowing comes from our own “bloody searching” and I’m not being British in the pun. There’s a searching that this world teaches, it’s rather limp and easy to quit. The searching required to really know the free-setting-truth, is a lifetime commitment. As in you take your last breath looking. It does not take that long, but I’m driving this home to show the difference between a curious seeker, and a driven desire for God alone. This is why there are few who find the narrow path. As I said, this world, is distracting and can be very convincing, that it’s ways can seem so trustworthy. To be awake, we must abandon the thought that this world’s ways have any value whatsoever. To say that this is hard to do is an understatement. Yet, the rewards of having persevered to this goal is, at this moment in time, beyond telling. To get to the Kingdom where no desire to sin, no desire for anything but God’s will is the total existence of man kind, this is the Promise that God has kept in Yeshua, with Yeshua, for us. This is the fellowship of Following Yeshua. Yes, we sin less and less, here and now, as we learn from Him, listen to and obey Him, and do the work He did/does until the Day comes when God – The Almighty and The Power of ALL, says “Enough!” to an enemy who defied Him long long ago, and set out to make of us “little defiler’s” along with him. Misery loves company.

There is a very real and very significant authority we begin to exercise once Yeshua is Master and Lord of our lives. If we look around, and into the past, we find that the authority Yeshua spoke of in Luke 10, has obviously not been something many have understood. I’m learning. To be awake, and help others in the same way, we must learn what this means. What could be more important for us to dive into to study at such a time where the Great deception is in effect and it seems that the whole world is held in the grip of that power? How do we begin to understand the following scriptures if we don’t fully lay hold of the authority Yeshua gives us?

John 16:33

“I have said these things to you so that, united with Me, you may have shalom. In the world, you have tsuris  (troubles). But be brave! I have conquered the world!”

1 John 4:4-6

You, children, are from God and have overcome the false prophets, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.  They are from the world; therefore, they speak from the world’s viewpoint; and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God doesn’t listen to us. This is how we distinguish the Spirit of Truth from the spirit of error.

1 John 5:3-5

For loving God means obeying His commands. Moreover, His commands are not burdensome, because everything which has God as its Father overcomes the world. And this is what victoriously overcomes the world: our Trust. Who does overcome the world if not the person who believes that Yeshua is the Son of God?

(There’s more: Look them up😉. Romans 8:31-37; 1 Corinthians 15:57-58; 1 John 2:13)

At a critical hour one must be able to understand their resources, how they are obtained and the limit or limitlessness of them. We are at the critical hour, our resource is Yeshua, how He is understood and the limitlessness of all He is to us is of great importance!

✡ To the One who can keep us from falling and set us without defect and full of joy in the presence of His manifest Glory of God present with man – to God alone, our Deliverer, through Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord – be glory, Majesty, power and Authority before all time, now and forever more. Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah! ✡

Resistance is not Futile!

Exodus 6:9
Moses said this to the people of Israel. But they wouldn’t listen to him because they were so discouraged, and their slavery was so cruel.

At this point in this historical story, Moses has already confronted Pharaoh once and hard-hearted Pharaoh refuses and takes away giving straw to the people for their bricks. The quota is unchanged, the work doubled. The people now see God as making things worse. And how could they not? The battle for freedom is always the most intense when God begins to cut the chains. The resistance can cause bitter discouragement, physical exhaustion can dull the senses; this the enemy knows. Yet greater does God know our weaknesses and infirmities! We must be convinced that we can not do what God has set out to. It’s not to “get us out of the way” so much as to give us different eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to trust. God set out to free the people of Israel, He did not set out to get them to free themselves. So, He hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and kept moving forward in His plan and timing. No resistance would deter Him. Not in His people, not in Pharaoh, not in the ultimate battle with the real enemy of slavery. We keep our eyes on God because He is always where victory is.

In sharing the Good News, we can often wonder how one can see the good of it when they are suffering so profusely! The ones who need it the most these days are so blinded by the outward circumstances. How can we make a difference?
We notice the way God works throughout history. He says: “go, do and say all I tell you, and trust Me.” The resistance will come, discouragement will attempt to assassinate, the enemy will work hard to disillusion. Fear not! Read these powerful words as your mission!

But Adonai said to Moses, “I have put you in the place of God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aharon will be your prophet. You are to say everything I order you, …”

The Israelites proceed to watch God do wonder after wonder! Proceed to watch resistance after resistance. Proceed to watch their deliverance! It took time, it took the resistance, it took miracles, it took hardening, it took everyone by storm; but freedom was given – God did what He set out to do! He always has, always will. There is nothing by which I can give you here on earth as an example of the kind of guarantee one can have in God. He is the surest, surest thing! The ultimate insurance, best lawyer, His contracts (promises) are never revoked and always honored, His timing without fail or error every time, His goals reached infinitely!

Resistance to our human eyes is a guarantee! But to the eyes being given by God, it is a sign that we should move more swiftly! It’s not futile to God, it’s the natural response from an enemy who won’t stop fighting Him. UNTIL…Yahweh’s time says, “Enough!!!” The time is rapidly approaching, the resistance is fierce! Futile against God, yes! But not futile in His hands! Everything He made has resistance as His signature. The ground (gravity) opposes the objects upon it. Thank God! Our very cells in our bodies oppose the bad elements that don’t belong! Praise the Father! Light opposes darkness! Great is the Light of the World!

In order to see resistance as a wonder in the hands of a God who created it’s very nature, we must look at Him! The great Resistor of all evil! The Victor of all opposition! Ruler and Master, not one thing slips past Him. Resistance is sure, but more sure is I Am, who breaks the chains that bind us all! In order for chains to be broken, they must be placed between two opposing forces and pulled. SNAP! Thus, they are broken!

James 4:4-10

You unfaithful wives! Don’t you know that loving the world is hating God? Whoever chooses to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy! Or do you suppose the Scripture speaks in vain when it says that there is a spirit in us which longs to envy? But the grace He gives is greater, which is why it says,
“God opposes the arrogant, but to the humble He gives grace. “

Therefore, submit to God. Moreover, take a stand against (resist, be stubbornly opposed to) the adversary, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and He will come close to you. Clean your hands (resist the dirt), sinners; and purify (yield to the flames that resist and free to purify hearts of stain), you double minded people! Wail, mourn, sob! Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom! (Allow the resistance of your flesh to do its designed intent, not gratifying the flesh but making it wail to be forgotten). Humble yourselves before the Lord, (that Opposing Force destined for victory over the force of evil) and He will lift you up.

Resistance is not futile, so long as we are resisting the right things. The resistance that comes upon us when we are resisting the world and evil, will not win. Our victory has been won by God alone, our resistance to evil is our worship and praise to the Victor! The opposition that comes from our obedience is a sign that God is fiercely moving us into His plan. It will tune our eyes and ears to Him more acutely. It will build the character of Yeshua (Jesus) inside the furnace of purity within us. And we shall see our freedom, here – now on earth as it is in Heaven! To God be the glory!

Unity’s Requiem

August 26, 2015 at 5:34 am (Poems) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

image

Love comes in miracles
Laced inside His breath
He inhales mercy
Exhales grace
And pulls us to His chest

Stars spin and freely fly
At the mere shadow of His passing by
Glee twinkles and strikes a tune
Of Sonshine in early June

The cosmos plays
While earth awaits
It’s resurrection at Edens gates
No lack of patience, no stir of restless
There’s only trust He’ll surely bless us

No toys of evil
Tempt to play
Upon the faithless in dismay
For all the victory
Has been played out
Upon the Savior when He bled out

No self obsession
Can draw a breath
Loves conception seals the debt
A covenant forged
In timeless reeds
No hand could mold it
But Abba’s creeds

Single Words conception
Formed flawless perfection
An aged-weary sigh
That awaits as He draws nigh

Hold not a sorrow
Grasp not a hope
In anguished marrow
For His breath has awoken you

To endless joy-beams
Crafting the sky
Teaching anew how to praise
More glorious than sunrise or sunset rays

A wondrous leaping
On inner limbs
Spirit-born reflections begins
Riding the waves
Of crimson flow
Blinding the need to know

Trust, O, the sweetest refrain
Trust breathes life into dry bones again
Oh, sweet the soar on trustworthy wings
That needs no feathers
To make the air sing

Oh chosen gladness
That gouges the eyes of dispond
That awakens sacrifice
The true heart longs

Reaching ever for more to give
Nothing to have
Nothing to keep
Oh Song of no needing
Sing Thou your tune
Awaken the cry of blessed tomb
Empty now for all time
The last stanza of human crime

Peace pulls out her palette
Paints the future
And impregnates with her fertile stroke
The weakened human knees of those the Father walks with
Again in the garden
Where the Son made the choice for all time and seasons

Balance plays on the lap of peace
Forever a child
Forged in the fire of timeless love
Holds out his hand to the Father above

Now at His side
The Keeper of trust
Pours out His armor
On human rust
Now blanketed in gold
And righteous crowns
Kept polished and ready
Where no sin abounds

Blades of grass promise
Peddles of flowers assure
Snow flakes refract and refresh
Feeding the truth in prisms
Barren limbs reach without doubt
So shall we, the ones so hard fought for!
So gloriously won!
The Ones died for, now die daily
Flesh wrestles with cracked limbs
Breaking through with Spirit-soaked acclaim!
Shouting the Name of all Names!
Oh to be Holy, oh to be His!
The lovers kiss bids the wedding begun!

Sing, oh soul of redemption
His Kingdom Come!
Thy will is done!
On this earth-dusty, reborn soul, we are One!

Reliable Resourses

April 7, 2015 at 2:57 pm (Remodeling the Mind, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

image

I was listening to a well respected, God fearing, wonderful pastor today. I will not name – not out of shame but so as not to give a finger to point at or hand to applaud. This pastor would agree any applaud belongs to God, and finger pointing can only and ultimately be resolved by approaching God as well. Listening to Him speak into things that rub us the wrong way, make no sense, or challenge our memory banks of beliefs, morals, and wisdom is the cure for finger pointing 🙂

image

The pastor was speaking about the church. He gave a list of things that should be found within it. All Biblically based, on both old and new testaments, all full of Wisdom. These pointed to the only Reliable Resource that exist. Elohim, Adonai, God, Yeshua, the Spirit of the Living God – I Am. There were 6 points made. The last was that the church should be a source of trustworthy, reliable truth. Who can argue with such? Not me.

image

The challenge for me is; what should the church encompass as reliable resources of truth? Just spiritual? As a matter of priority I’d say absolutely. Then question becomes;
What effects and involves all things spiritual?”

I know of one church, one, that has found a list so expansive it is hard to argue that it thrives as it does. That’s not to say there are not more, I’m one individual, with, in true perspective, a very small view of the entire world. Though I try to be very thorough in my research and time spent “turning rocks over” in diligence to seek the truth, I’m human and therefore limited beyond reckoning.

image

The resources at our disposal today are so vast it’s mind boggling. Its safe to say we don’t have the time to make use of them all. Yet, still, if one desires to find out the truth about anything, it’s just a few hours and a click away from many many of us.

image

For those who Follow Yeshua (Jesus), most of whom attend some church, this should be a place where the truth about everything under the sun is available. Everything about the Son too. The latter the priority, but no less important as the former.  If we are following Yeshua, we see His example and do as He did. He taught about everything emphasizing the heart in right standing with God, teaching who He is – this was first and foremost. But no less important than the things that effect our everyday living on this earth.

image

Here is where we find the gaping holes in the reliable resources given to those who attend churches today. It’s a “stay safe within the bounds of doctrine” mentality. Not without its importance this, but going nowhere outside of that is a weakness. The truth about the world’s and societal effects that we live in is crucial to the body of Yeshua. Where are the lies, all of them, that have bound us in our everyday living? What does God have to say about them? There are so many it’s overwhelming. Perhaps that’s why the church fails so dramatically. Things like:

– What does the effect of political and policy making within our governments have on our ability to discern right from wrong (or almost right)? This one gets hit on mildly but at best it grazes the out-skirts.

image

– Within the context of the above there are so many facets. The food industry. The medical industry. The standards for law making and keeping order in society. In American, these things effect everyone to such a degree that it effects our ability to take in spiritual truth. As Yeshua said, if we pray for someone but leave them hungry, sick, and needful,  how can the truth of the Spirit be heard? Here’s an example.

According to a report released yesterday by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), the rate of antidepressant use in this country among teens and adults (people ages 12 and older) increased by almost 400% between 1988–1994 and 2005–2008.

The federal government’s health statisticians figure that about one in every 10 Americans takes an antidepressant. And by their reckoning, antidepressants were the third most common prescription medication taken by Americans in 2005–2008, the latest period during which the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) collected data on prescription drug use.

Here are a few other stand-out statistics from the report on antidepressants:

23% of women in their 40s and 50s take antidepressants, a higher percentage than any other group (by age or sex)Women are 2½ times more likely to be taking an antidepressant than men (click here to read a May 2011 article in the Harvard Mental Health Letterabout women and depression) 14% of non-Hispanic white people take antidepressants compared with just 4% of non-Hispanic blacks and 3% of Mexican Americans. Less than a third of Americans who are taking a single antidepressants (as opposed to two or more) have seen a mental health professional in the past year. Antidepressant use does not vary by income status.

What is causing such an epidemic? Is this not a legitimate question the leaders/shepherds of flocks should be asking? One out of every ten people sitting in the crowd on Saturday and Sunday are taking these medications.

image

Are we taught in the church how these drugs effect the ability for those taking them to hear and understand the Greatest Truth about the Great Physician who cures depression? Is this not a hugely important relevance to the body of Christ? Look at those percentages, one out of every 10 persons sitting in the pews at church are effected by this! Why isn’t this addressed as a reliable resource, relevant to our walk with God? Health and nutrition, how God designed the body and what He provided to make it functional? How can this be overlooked as relevant to the body of Messiah? What is going on in our governments to “pull the wool over our eyes” with basic stuff like how we eat, health care, and the industry that fuels these things? Why is this not spoken of in churches today? There is one as I said that I know of. One. Did not God address every detail to our daily living and interaction within the culture and society we live in in the Bible? Read Deutoronomy, Leviticus. Read Matthew 5 and 6, Yeshua did. Saul (Paul) went into great detail about such things. What has happened to our ability to discern what’s relevant to the body of Messiah? To learn these things one must go home and research these things outside the church. If a church is approached by such a question it responds with excuses and religious verbage that leaves the inquirer feeling shamed for their boldness for asking. If God is the Author of All truth, it stands to reason that in His house of worship and teaching all truth should be a topic for continual discussion, learning, exposing and therefore a place to release prisoners from the bondage of the lies that have snuck in and invaded the very basics of how people live. Right? Or almost right? I leave the question (s) in your very capable hands. Yeshua, the Father, and the Spirit all say “If you seek the Truth, you shall find it.”

image

Here is a piece of information that can help one see the relevance in connection to the information above about those on antidepressants. So when you look over to the tenth person from you next time in church you can ask yourself legitimately;

How is this truth of the Messiah our Savior able to be taken in, if that person is on a drug that can literally block the message?

FDA Black-Box Warning

Over time, the FDA has examined many cases regarding the suicidal risks involved with antidepressants. Based on studies showing some link to suicide, the FDA has made several changes to the labeling of antidepressants.

FDA Changes on Antidepressant Labeling 1990 FDA considers risk of antidepressants increasing suicidality in public hearing, but does not find enough evidence to change labels. 1996 FDA researcher writes to Pfizer to note the increased frequency of reports of suicidality in young patients during Zoloft clinical trials. October 2003 FDA warns doctors that studies cannot rule out increased suicidal thinking in children taking antidepressants.December 2003 British drug regulators advise doctors not to use certain antidepressants in children. Oct. 12, 2004 Former FDA chief safety investigator testifies even before Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft were on the U. S. market, he believed these drugs could cause mania, leading to violence. Oct. 15 2004 FDA orders all manufacturers of antidepressant medications to add a black-box warning that they may increase suicidality in children and adolescents. 2005 FDA sends out a public health advisory, warning that all antidepressants increase suicidal behavior in adults and announcing that studies of the effects of antidepressants would be under review. FDA goes on to review 295 individual antidepressant trials of 77,000 adults with major depressive disorder. As a result, health care professionals are informed of risk of suicidality. 2006 FDA recommends that children should not take Zoloft, as it increases suicidal thinking or behavior in 1 out of 50 young patients. FDA advises doctors to observe pediatric patients taking antidepressants once a week, face to face. 2007 FDA adds to the black-box warning on certain antidepressants, cautioning that increased suicidal thoughts and behaviors are a possible side effect of the medications for adults ages 18-24 during initial treatment. 2010 A study of nine years of data, published in 2010, shows that the suicide risk is the same across SSRI drug types.

image

Is the church really honoring God’s call to be a reliable resource for Truth today? It’s a question that weighs heavy on my heart. We have an enemy, whose sole task is to blind, and make lame in any way he can the people God has created to thrive in truth. He hates with a hatred that is inconceivable to mankind. He doesn’t stop. On the other hand, we have a God who says the truth can set us free, and He is that truth. He is bigger than the lies, and futile attempts to obscure Him. Yet we are called to be seekers of the truths that can free us. Love does conquer lies.Yet the information to do so must be made available to those for this to happen. If the church is where one is supposed to be able to go for such, why then does it skip such vital areas? We must hold ourselves accountable to such questions. Lives depend on it.

image

Rest assured God is in control, His plan is sure, and we need not react with alarm within the boundaries of such questions. But seek Him, and answer His call to act as He leads. This is a reliable resource, that He can speak right into our lives today and lead us in the way everlasting. There is no aspect of life He will not shed light into, if we seek, we shall find, and thereby be freed.
