Pivotal Question: #4

August 10, 2018 at 6:16 am (Remodeling the Mind, Thoughts to Ponder, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

PQ #4: Did God really give people any indication that we should all be able to have free speech?

This question has bounced around my heart for a while now. I mean, I live somewhere (at least I have so far) where I can blog, talk, write a book, a song; use pretty much any form of communication I desire to talk about Yahweh (God the Father), Yeshua (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit, anytime, anywhere. The “right to freedom of speech” has awarded many profound freedom. Yet, as time moves forward, it’s apparent that this particular “right” got underwritten somewhere and is slowly eroding away. It is a hot topic. Recently a rather big name in what’s called alternative media got axed from Google and Apple, and Facebook. I won’t name individual names. This person was far from righteous, and frankly, I see that perhaps it was God’s way of shutting him up! Obviously, I’m not a fan. But several others that I do respect in this same genre of alternative news, they all spoke out about this incident. They all landed on this phrase: “I may not agree with what you say, but I’ll fight for your right to say it. Because if we lose this right we lose our right to say what we want.”

Something stuck in my gut about this. God persisted on knocking my heart with it. So I went to His Word looking for answers. I was stunned that I could not find one scripture to back up such a thing called “freedom of speech”. I mean, this country was supposed to be founded on Godly principles, freedom of speech was one of them. This is taught and has been as long as we’ve been a country. So where in heavens name did the “founders” find this principle in Gods Word?

This Proverb is particularly insightful.

Proverbs 17:28

Even a fool, if he stays silent, is thought wise; he who keeps his mouth shut can pass for smart.

Proverbs 18:2

A fool takes pleasure in trying to understand; he only wants to express his own opinion.

Proverbs 16:1

A person is responsible to prepare his heart; but how the tongue speaks is from Adonai.

Proverbs 20:19

A gossip goes around revealing secrets, so don’t get involved with a talkative person.

In fact, I couldn’t find a single Proverb to support the concept of freedom of speech. I moved on.

Ephesians 4:29

Let NO harmful language come from your mouth, only good words that are helpful in meeting the need, words that will benefit those who hear them.

There are two hebrew words for harmful:

Mam – מאס – meaning blemish / nothing. Defined as: Anything that is considered useless or without value. A blemish that causes something to be valueless.

R’ah – רע – meaning grievous/ bad. Defined as: something dysfunctional, wrong, evil or wicked. Even a feeling from bad circumstances.

Benefit in hebrew is very interesting and sheds new light on its context here.

Gemal – גמול – means yield. Defined as: the ripening of a crop or the weaning of a child as one now able to yield work. Also, the production of a product as a benefit or reward.

So taken in this new light the verse would read:

Let nothing considered useless or without value; or anything that causes something to become valueless; anything dysfunctional, evil or wicked come from your mouth, only good words that are helpful in meeting the need, words that will produce a benefit or reward as one able to yield work, for those who hear them.

This pretty much takes anything you’d watch on TV out of the contending for talking points. Anything on the news, or being discussed in the rooms of politicians.

What!?” You say. “Then how can we teach the truth”?

The next question is then: ‘is the Truth a what or Who?’

If you lead someone to the Who, He will take over aligning all of what’s needed to follow Him. In other words, it’s not our job to make sure we point out all the falseness in everything… it’s the Spirits express purpose to “lead to all Truth”. Which makes sense why the next verse in Ephesians 4:30 is placed there.

Don’t cause grief to Gods Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), for He has stamped you as His property until the day of final redemption.

The next verse gives the details of all things that give rise in the human heart to speak out of one’s own agenda. We are not to confuse following God’s heart in feeling injustice and hate of evil, as executing actions to bring justice about.

Matthew 12:30-37 ~ Yeshua (Jesus) speaking…[note: what’s coming out of His mouth…]

Those who are not with me are against Me, and those who do not gather with Me, are scattering. Because of this, I tell you people will be forgiven any sin and blasphemy, but blaspheming the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) will not be forgiven. One can say something against the Son of Man and be forgiven; but whoever keeps on speaking against the Ruach HaKodesh will never be forgiven, neither in the ‘olam hazeh nor in the ‘olam haba. (This world, this age nor in the world to come, the age to come).

If you make a tree good, it’s fruit (yield) will be good; and if you make a tree bad, it’s fruit will be bad; for a tree is known by it fruit. You snakes! How can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what overflows from the heart. The good person brings forth good things from his store (yield) of good, and the evil person brings forth evil things from his store of evil. Moreover, I tell you this: on the Day of Judgement people will have to give account for every careless word they have spoken; for by your own words you will be acquitted, and by your own words you will be condemned.

It has been said that the justice system derived the “rights” read to an arrestee from this last verse. ‘Anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law’. A gross misuse of the words Yeshua spoke if so. Though I’ll grant that in human reasoning the “right” can be made to sound very inspired.

Psalms 19:14

May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be acceptable in Your presence, Adonai, my Rock and Redeemer.

Psalms 39:1

I said, “I will watch how I behave so that I won’t sin with my tongue; I will put a muzzle on my mouth whenever the wicked assault me.”

Ecclesiastes 5:1-8

Don’t speak impulsively- don’t be in a hurry to give voice to your words before God. For God is in heaven, and you are on earth; so let your words be few. For nightmares come from worrying too much; and a fool, when he speaks, chatters too much.

If you make a view to God, don’t delay in discharging it. For God takes no pleasure in fools, so discharge it. Don’t let your words make you guilty, and don’t tell the temple officials that you made a vow by mistake. Why give God reason to be angry at what you say and destroy what you have accomplished? For this is what happens when there are too many dreams, aimless activities and words. Instead, just fear God! If you see the poor oppressed, rights violated and justice perverted in the province, don’t be surprised; for a high official has one higher watching him, and there are others above them. (In other words, God has set up the accountability chain, don’t decide to add your name to His list, let Him do that)

From all my study I could find no God-breathed word to join a protest rally. To have a right to free speech as this world defines it. These are the only things I could find that He endorses as “go ahead say all you like” but He definitely doesn’t say you’ll have the freedom to do it, as in the world will have to ‘let you’. The Truth is: they can’t stop us from these things from one to another.

*Prayer. Pray without ceasing! Countless scriptures say this.

*Encouragement in the thing’s of the Kingdom of God.

Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in union with the Lord always! I will say it again: rejoice! Let everyone see how reasonable and gentle you are. The Lord is near! Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then God’s shalom (peace), passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua. In conclusion, brothers, focus your thoughts on what is true, noble, righteous, pure, lovable or admirable, on some virtue or on something praiseworthy. Keep doing what you have learned and received from me, what you have heard and seen me doing, then the God who gives shalom will be with you.

Why do we need to fight for things this world calls freedom? What is this fight for ‘rights’ from this world’s perspective? If we are persecuted to cease speaking of the Truth of God – are we still not free?

Amos 5:12-15

For I know how numerous are your crimes and how outrageous your sins – bullying the innocent, extorting ransoms pushing the poor aside at the gate. At times like these a prudent person stays silent, for it is an evil time. Seek good and not evil, so that you will survive. Then Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot (Lord God of Hosts) will take pity on the survivors of Yosef (Joseph).

So… you say – “How then should we tell when to say that God’s Word is being distorted?”

2 Timothy 2:14-19

Keep reminding people of this, and charge them solemnly before the Lord not to engage in word-battles. They accomplish nothing useful and are a catastrophe to the hearers! Do all you can to present yourself to God as someone worthy of His approval, as a worker with no need to be ashamed, because he deals straighforwardly with the Word of Truth. But keep away from godless babbling, for those who engage in it will only become more ungodly, and their teaching will eat away at people like gangrene. Hymenaeus and Philetus are among these; they have missed the mark, as far as the Truth is concerned, by saying that our resurrection has already taken place; and they are overturning some people’s faith. Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, stamped with these Words: “the Lord knows His own,” and “Let everyone who claims he belongs to the Lord stand apart from wrongdoing.

2 Timothy 2:23

But stay away from stupid and ignorant controversies – you know they lead to fights, and a slave to the Lord shouldn’t fight. On the contrary, he should be kind to everyone, a good teacher, and not resentful when mistreated.

2 Timothy 4:1-2

I solemnly charge you before God and the Messiah Yeshua, who will judge the living and the dead when He appears and establishes His Kingdom: proclaim the Word! Be on hand with it whether the time seems right or not. Convict, censure, and exhort with unfailing patience and with teaching.

Titus 3:1; 9-11

Remind people to submit to the government and its officials, to obey them, to be ready to do any honorable kind of work, to slander no one, to avoid quarreling, to be friendly, and behave gently towards everyone.

But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, quarrels and fights about the Torah; because they are worthless and futile. Warn a divisive person once, then a second time; after that have nothing more to do with them. You may be sure that such a person has been perverted and is sinning: he stands self-condemned.

I will let The Word and the Spirit of the Living God guide you into the answer with His Word.

Yeshua has already fought and won the battle for freedom, dear fellow-sheep! There is not one He calls us to fight for. I leave you with words from King David, the man after God’s own heart. May we encourage as many as we can with these words, in these days, for the time is near… where every word we say will either acquit us or condemn us on the basis of where our hearts are.

Psalms 119:41-48

May Your grace come to me, Adonai, Your Salvation, as You promised; then I will have an answer for those who taunt me; for I trust in Your Word. Don’t take away completely my power to speak the truth; for I put my hope in Your rulings; and I will keep Your Torah always, forever and ever. I will go wherever I like, for I have sought Your precepts. I will speak of Your instructions even to kings without being ashamed. I will delight myself in Your mitzvot (instructions), which I have loved. I will lift my hands to Your mitzvot, which I love; and I will meditate on Your laws.

🙏 The grace of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the love of God and the fellowship of the Ruach HaKodesh be with you all.🙏

How to Pray During Disaster

May 21, 2013 at 2:28 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , )

image

May 20th, 2013

Another deadly and dreadful tornado rips through Moore Oklahoma at 3:15pm. It stays on the ground building in strength for an hour; until in a matter of seconds it fades and disappears from the sky. One minute it is unmistakeably serious, deadly, huge and seen for tens of miles; the next it looks like a thunderstorm. One minute the sky and the earth connect the next it is again separate.
People below that sky are still standing agape and stunned. Still hunkered down and waiting for the “all clear” sign. Some…are no longer there looking up from below, but looking down…and they…they no longer have questions about anything…the least of which is “What on earth!! Why us? Where’s God?” No, those who were called home way before the sun came up that morning have all their answers.
For those left behind…if questions are still stunted by shock and grief; they will come. If they have “seen it before” and therefore have no questions…they have either learned or they feel there is no sense in asking questions.
For those of us who inevitably watched their lives turn upsidedown, there is a resounding thought. Everyone says it.

“We must pray for these poor people

How? How does one pray in such a humanly incomprehensible situation? How do you form words that encompass losses such as every news station and internet access site has laid out for the world to see? Groans are surely the only “words” possible for those in Moore Oklahoma and the many many others in various cities that have also been “touched” by the sky recently. Groans were my spirits first response. I am so thankful groans are mentioned in the Word of God. They mean something! Perhaps more than words!

When I settled down this night, sitting and still…waiting for God to speak into the images that left traces outlined in my mind of Moore Oklahoma; this is what He said.

“My will was done…pray that it continues.”

Sounds harsh, huh? Sounds like a judgemental, hard God…and it would hardly be accepted as “comfort” by most…few but most shrink at such words. Its…inhuman! Yes, yes it is. But then…His ways are not our ways, nor His thoughts. And two things are always undoubtably true. His ways are carried out, swift and sure. His thoughts are the only clarity that can make sense in chaos. Job wrote about it for this purpose. His children were all taken by a storm. After God had taken all he had including his health. After the evil one had asked permission to afflict Job, after God said, “Do your worst, but do not take his life from his body.” No doubt had Job been a fly on the wall of that conversation he may well have stood agape at the Lord his God’s response. God’s will at this point would seem harsh…maybe even unfair. Hardly what humans call “loving or comforting”. To be clear – it is Gods job to Comfort. Not ours. At this moment and at 3:15-4:15pm He was on “the job. He did not stand aside and wait to love and comfort His children while a tornado wiped out city blocks. He may or may not have been implementing His justice. Its not for us to “know”. Whether He acts in such a way as we see justice or mercy; never changes that these are His hallmarks with all situations, everyday, no matter what humans believe or think. He is sure of His will, His Love, His methods, His acts and the results that follow. We can be, but its not necessary. God sent His Son exactly when and how and in the form He planned, totally independent of whether His creatures “approved” (and most did not – and still don’t). What we “get” is entirely up to us, depending on where we go to seek the enlightenment.

So…what should we pray??

Well for those with the provision and nearby…be a prayer! Help the needy and afflicted! Use all you got to “pray” with action. For the rest of us? I can not say what to “say” for anyone. But I will pray as instructed. Trusting the One I know is trustworthy, in control, sends chaos and disaster, wealth and prosperity. Truly I want none other than His Will to be done for all those who have been directly or indirectly affected by this. I know His Will holds more Love and Comfort than all the human words could hope to communicate. I also know…that I have no clue what exactly those people need from an eternal point of view. Carnally I can deduce (this takes no wisdom) that they need shelter, food, assistance, and community to support them. These request have and will continue to go from my heart to His ears. Yet in the light of all things…oh how I truly want everyone to know Yeshua (Jesus), the Father, and the Comforter like He is and better and more each day. This is my deepest desire. Yet, right now to say to someone who is grieving losses; “God’s will was done, be comforted.” Would be ill-advised (lacking wisdom). The best thing Job’s friends did was just sit and listen for the first few stanza’s of their “comfort”. All their words about God and His obvious ways towards evil were foolishness. They in the end were told by God to apologize and help Job by being a prayer.
Words will come later…right now we weep for those who weep…and put elbow juice into comfort. Silence reigns after disaster…because God Himself wants to be heard. He alone can heal with words.

His Word alone, points to how to pray.

Job 24:12

Men are groaning in the city, the mortally wounded are crying for help, yet God finds nothing amiss!

Job 28:20-28

“So where does wisdom come from? Where is the source of understanding, inasmuch as it is hidden from the eyes of all living and kept secret from the birds flying around in the sky? Death and destruction say, “We have heard a rumor about it with our ears.”
God understands its way, and He knows its place. For He sees to the ends of the earth and views everything under heaven. When He determined the force of the wind and parceled out water by measure, when He made a law for the rain and cleared a path for the thunderbolts; then He saw wisdom and declared it, yes, He set it up and searched it out. And to human beings He said, ‘Look, fear of Adonai (the Lord) is wisdom! Shunning evil is understanding!'”

Job 37: 5-13

“God thunders wonderfully with His Voice, He does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth!’ – likewise to the light rain, also to the downpour. He brings all human activity to a stop, so that everyone He has made can know it. Then the animals go into their lairs and hibernate in their dens.
“Out of its chamber comes the storm, with cold out of the north. By the breath of God, ice is given, and the wide waters freeze over. He weighs the clouds down with moisture, and they flash forth His lightening. He, by His plans, turns them around, and they do what He commands them anywhere on earth; He brings them forth on the earth sometimes to punish, sometimes to express His grace.

Job 42:11

Then all his brothers and sisters came to him, also all who had known him before, and they ate a meal with him in his house. They consoled and comforted him for all the evils Adonai had inflicted on him.

Isaiah 29: 13-14

Then Adonai said:
“Because these people approach Me with empty words, and the honor they bestow on Me is mere lip-service; while in fact they have distanced their hearts from Me, and their ‘fear of Me’ is just a mitzvah (good deed) of human origin – therefore, I will keep shocking these people with astounding and amazing things, until the ‘wisdom’ of their ‘wise ones’ vanishes, and the ‘discernment’ of their ‘discerning ones’ is hidden away.”

Isaiah 43:13

Since the days began, I have been He. No one can deliver from My hand. When I act, who can reverse it?

Isaiah 44:24

Here is what Adonai says, your Redeemer, He who formed you in the womb: “I am Adonai, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spread out the earth all by Myself.

Isaiah 45:6-8

I am arming you, although you don’t know Me, so that those from the east and those from the west will know that there is none besides Me – I Am Adonai; there is no other.
I form light, I create darkness; I make well-being, I create woe; I, Adonai, do all these things
.

“Heavens above, rain down justice; let the clouds pour it down. Let the earth open, so that salvation springs up, and justice sprouts with it.
I, Adonai, have created it.

Isaiah 54:16

It is I who created the craftsman who blows on the coals and forges weapons suited to their purpose; I also created the destroyer to work havoc.

A Days Wages

October 3, 2012 at 3:29 am (Mile Stones) (, , , , , , , )

image

While pondering the events of the day these thoughts cascaded from my mind.

Life is lived at its fullest from the outside in.

To sell everything I own and give it to the poor; what Yeshua (Jesus) is calling for today…is everything I feel, think and identify as mine, inside this heart and give it to the poor in spirit.

People CAN get mad at and for nothing!

True blessings come wrapped in human tissue.

Life can show us how to die, as much as death can show us how to live.

Almost everything reversed makes more sense in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Love has its greatest power when it lets the heart assume the worst of you and loves as if it assumed the best.

A true teacher can teach beginners with the advanced at the same time.

Skills are never seen through the eyes of arrogance.

If beauty had wings, they would fly to the brokenhearted.

Let pain begin to drench your “trust muscles”

The physical body will betray the pain the heart won’t let go of.

All roads lead to change, no wonder smaller cities appeal more to me than big ones!

Understanding is the elusive wind that blows around a giving soul. It is the oxygen that fans the flames of trust first then it burns away the doubt which comes before it.

No one can think they trust, it must have action, like oxygen to the blood. It has to be breathed to flow.

There really isn’t anything that God can’t say for Himself with no “help”. Nothing is required for Him to speak, and all that’s required to hear Him is His intention that you do.

Knowing God is the key to everything. Firing the one you think He is will surely be as essential as letting Him re-introduce you to Himself, almost daily.

My most beloved friends are the thoughts Adonai shares with me. And yes, often they come in another brother or sister.

Today is closing in on tomorrow, I think I’ll go rest while God gets me ready 🙂

Oh how I love Yeshua, how I adore the Father, how I am awed by the Spirit…how infinite His Love! How mighty is His movement! How endless He captures my soul! May He NEVER get any glory from letting me go, but if it would bring Him more glory, I would beg Him to do with me as He see’s fit.

Glimpses into an eternal mind…often come cluttered with much that must die.

The word peace has been so twisted by the enemy, you only have to believe and live as if he has no bite, to have as little of the true-ness of it to suffer its absence.

Love makes me lopsided when I would stand-up straight. God makes me giggle, no – He giggles with me! I love You Abba!

And a whole lot of…
I will trust You
I will trust You
I will trust You
You are fully trustworthy
You are fully trustworthy
You are fully trustworthy
(The You being Adonai)

Thats a wrap!

Grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah ❤

Introduction to The Shepherds Words

June 3, 2011 at 2:20 am (The Shepherd's Words) (, , , , , , , )

Hebrew/Aramaic. This is the language our Shepherd, Savior spoke. As He was a child these words of both his father Joseph and His Father in Heaven, were taught and learned and wrote the world around Him in this human tongue. Hebrew is not just a different set of letters – that look different and sound different than English or any other language. The way to think, take in, and view everything is different. Hebrew thought is more concerned with function whereas our Greco-Roman (English) thought is more concerned with appearance. In the Western interpretations many things are asked to be viewed in abstract verses concrete. Abstract is something unrelated to the five senses: hearing, sight, touch, smell, and taste. Hebrew is taken in as a substance of action. Here’s an example:

1 Samuel 20:34

…and Jonathan rose up from the table with a burning nose…

Notice in the KJV the difference?

1 Samuel 20:34

So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger.

How the interpretators got this was from the Hebrew word for nose – aph – that can mean “a flaring of the nostrils in anger” All languages usually follow the “pulse” of its culture. There is no denying the Hebrew/Jewish culture is very different and goes back as far as the time-line can stretch. Remember…different tongues or languages did not happen until Genesis 11 – when God, Himself – CONFUSED many and separated people by spoken language. The common language before this? Is left mostly to mystery – but my gut says it was Hebrew/Aramaic. We just won’t know till God tells us. 🙂

For myself…Adonai (the Lord) opened my eyes and ignited a thirst to better understand Hebrew/Aramaic when I asked these questions:

  • Why WAS/IS Jesus a Jew?
  • Could I be missing a “part” of who He is because I often “over-look” the details of what that means?
  • If I say…”I want to KNOW You Jesus.” Is it possible to know You without learning what You learned, grew up with, and the culture that shaped You?

The answer to the latter is YES – but!! “If you want to know Me, the way I want you to…come follow Me…take My yoke upon you…learn of Me!” He said to me. The fact is that the only thing needed to know Jesus (Yeshua) is the desire to. Can He be known without understanding His tongue of speech? Well…yes…but consider…

Lets say someone from another country wants to know you…get to know you. You could begin with a dictionary that will give translations for words…but the context would become a problem sooner than later. You could get someone to translate – but then you depend on the translator to “translate” you correctly or them. Either way…do you begin to see my point?

I am no Hebrew/Aramaic speaker. It is a language that requires undivided time and I don’t mind saying…a lifetime to learn! I have found several resources that helped me immensely over the last few years. (I will list them at the bottom of this post 🙂 ) The thought of trying to “unlearn” the Bible and relearn it overwhelmed me. Besides – as I said – I got a lot out of it anyway. No matter the translation…I believe God, Himself – has kept the integrity of His Heart intact – even though man has often – unwittingly (or purposely) “wet it down” or misinterpreted much of its full flavor. The fact is if He has not – He is not God! The God I know PRESERVES – PROTECTS – PREPARES  and PRECEEDS man! Not the other way around! Amen?

So this category is designed to open a window for you to see – through Jesus’ eyes and ears… to allow you to somewhat know what He meant when He said what He did – read what He read. Believe me it causes NO confusion. It only makes what you already know COME ALIVE!

John 14:23

Yeshua answered him, “If someone loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

John 6:63

“It is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh is no help. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life…”

John 10:14

“I am the good Shepherd; I know my own, and my own know me -…”

I pray this category and its postings will open wide the doors of your heart with new meaning and understanding of your Shepherd, Savior. That He will whisper in your ears as He has mine the depths of who He is more and more. That it will produce and ignite the thirst to know Him more and more and more. If it does not…quite simply…ignore this category and its post :-)! The only desire I have for this blog is that He get the glory – He becomes more – His Voice be heard.
