Awake! – Part 12 – Freedom of Choice

May 6, 2017 at 3:56 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , )

1 Chronicles 4: 10

Jabez called on the God of Israel: “Please bless me by enlarging my territory. May Your Hand be with me! Keep me from harm, so that it will not cause me pain.” God granted his request.

God promised us the whole earth! He made the whole planet for us! Now take the perspective that the enemy has slowly reduced us to. Look at the map of Israel, The one with the largest borders, where God promised the nation. This tiny slice of land is roughly 1/100000th of the whole earth! Now I’m not saying what God promised Israel is insignificant, but look at Jabez’s prayer, God granted his request! Why? Because Jabez saw that God offers far more than we can ask for or imagine, He wanted all God has to offer! Don’t you?

For a moment, now, let’s look at the miracle of God giving us freedom of choice. To sum this up, attacking every question that can arise from this fact – God gave us freedom of choice because:

  • He wanted us to choose Him, knowing all the other choices. Or not, choose Him.
  • He thinks it’s far more important to have us, than to start over, taking all the other choices away, which would eliminate human kind made in His Image. He has no plan B, and will settle for nothing less than His original plan, us – humans and Him as a family He desired, with those of His host in heaven.

This is why freedom of choice is such an amazing thing given to us by God! It involves letting us be able to choose very evil and awful things – yes – but also the best He has to offer! Which brings me to my next point.

In order for us to have access to all God has to offer us, we must be rid of anything and everything that would place God’s all and put it in a container. Labels are good for things, not people. When we go to the store, labels help us define one thing from another. When we walk through life, labels on people close the doors to what God is doing and will do. We are central to God’s plan, this is why Yeshua took the label making question: “who is my neighbor?” and turned it on its head. Humans are our neighbor! Every shape, size, color, nation! There is only one ‘label’ for *God’s children and I just said *it. Hence why we are instructed by Yeshua to love our human ‘enemies’. To do good to those who hurt us. Not to be confused with His enemies! Today’s world puts such labels on people’s.

Can you honestly say that all that can be found throughout history about the label “Christian” is what you want to limit your walk with God – THE MESSIAH (which means Christ, where the term Christian came from) to?

Most labels start out well meaning, AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) for example: this was a spiritual revival, started by men of God to reach a certain sector of people, trapped by the enemy of God by the poison of alcohol. The principles it was founded on were/are straight from God’s Word, the intent for which God inspired it was freedom. Yet now, it hardly resembles what it started out like. Man was led astray by the enemy of God who, as He does everything God makes originally, twist it by the causing doubt in/of God. So now, just chose your higher power, door nob, teddy bear, flower, anything, you’ll get sober! It’s sickening! Why would any of these things require accountability of action, they are inanimate objects! Likewise, being called a Christian used to stand for nothing but a follower of Christ, but throughout history, ‘Christians’ have followed the anti-Christ doing nothing that resembles Yeshua whatsoever! So when we choose – we best just choose God, the God of the Bible, of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, we can place many other names from that Word from which He has named Himself, but anything other than this, we stand to limit what we can know of Him, do because of Him and claim that He said is ours! We must understand that freedom of choice, does not mean we should make up our own choices. If we claim to be a child of God, we best reconsider any label we have assigned ourselves with. Catholic, Luthern, Baptist, evangelical, Calvinism, Republican, Constitutionalist, Democrat, conservative, traditionalist and the list goes on. Given a true study into any of these labels will prove to show where they all inevitably vere from the Truth the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth as defined by God. The enemy invades and has access to do so with anything man decides they can “hang their hat on” as a labeled sect of people. Have you ever wondered why God hated censuses? Is makes a number out of a person, the enemy of God loves to count his sheep, Hitler labeled his prisoners this way. God doesn’t need to count, He makes them part of who He IS! You and I are special, unique and wonderful, just because He made us. This takes the value of any label you or I could attach to our value and throws it into the pit of hell!

The saying: “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” is so true. These ‘good intentions’ are the stuff made up of what man calls good. The perspective must change for something to truly be good. That perspective must be God’s! Since we know our ways are not like His, our thoughts, not like His, it stands as true logic that before we call something good or innocent we might check in with Him first. Good and bad are labels too! We say, “that person is a good person. Or bad person.” Achhhem – we may want to ask Adonai about that! Most especially are we in danger if we label ourselves in such a way! Good according to God is functional. Bad is dysfunctional. This changes everything when taken from His perspective, and when we consult Him, we find our knowledge expands even more in definition making and it’s dangers. Knowledge, the quest for knowledge alone is the enemy of God’s number one temptation. God’s knowledge leads us to Himself, which gives growth to humility, not pride or confidence in ourselves. Labels classify so we can decide who we think is worthy of our prayers, attention, time, effort, etc. It’s best to side with God, and leave the fighting up to Him as to who needs to be ‘rearranged’ or not. He gives us judgement, the ability to assess and act on something, for our actions and thoughts alone! Not for everyone or anyone else. We may be told to steer clear of someone by God, but that gives no permission to judge them. We just obey, pray for them, love them as best as He directs us from a distance.

I will wrap this up with a list of scriptures, that hopefully will be seen from a whole new perspective given what has been said so far. Then, as always, study, and consult Adonai for anything of value to be gained from this post. I’m no “authority”, to say I’m inspired is only to speak to my passion for Yeshua. But not to say, these words are equal to the Inspired Word of God. I’m His child, I claim this as the gift He has made available to all. I’m unashamed to be called a follower of Yeshua the Messiah. I stumble and lose my balance in my learning to walk with Him, as anyone else. Yet, He covers my every word, move and being with His blood! What an honor the choosing of Him is! It’s so much easier to stay awake, be awake, knowing the value and limitlessness that God gives with choice.

Deuteronomy 28:9-14; 30:15,19

Adonai will establish you as a people separated out for Himself, as He has sworn to you – if you will observe the mitzvah (commands/instructions) of Adonai your God and follow His Ways. Then all the peoples on earth will see that Adonai’s Name, His presence, is with you; so that they will be afraid of you.

Adonai will give you great abundance of good things – of the fruit of your body, the fruit of your livestock and the fruit of your land in the land Adonai swore to your ancestors to give you. Adonai will open for you His good treasure, the sky, to give your land it’s rain at the right seasons and to bless everything you undertake. You will lend to many nations and not borrow; Adonai will make you the head and not the tail; and you will be only above, never below – if you listen to, observe and obey the mitzvot of Adonai your God and not turn away from any of the words I am ordering you today, neither to the right or the left, to follow after other gods and serve them.

Look! I am presenting you today with, on the one hand, life and good; and on the other, death and evil

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have presented you with life and death the blessing and the curse. Therefore, choose life, so that you will live, you and your descendants, loving Adonai your God, paying attention to what He says and clinging to Him – for that is the purpose to your life!

Isaiah 54:5

For your husband is your Maker, Adonai-Tzva’ot is His Name. The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of all the earth.

Micah 6:8

Human being, you have already been told what is good, what Adonai demands of you – no more than to act justly, love grace, and walk in purity with your God.

Malachi 3:10

Bring the whole tenth into the storehouse, so that there will be food in My house, and put Me to the test, says Adonai-Tzva’ot. See if I won’t open for you the floodgates of heaven and pour out for you blessing far beyond your needs.

Psalms 19:7; 103:13

The Torah of Adonai is perfect, restoring the inner person. The Instruction of Adonai is sure, making wise the thoughtless.

Just as a father has compassion on his children, Adonai has compassion on those who fear Him.

Proverbs 10:22; 21:1

The blessings of Adonai is what makes people rich, and He doesn’t mix sorrow with it.

The kings heart in Adonai’s hand is like streams of water – He directs it wherever He pleases.

I Chronicles 16:11

Seek Adonai and His strength; always seek His presence.

Matthew 5:3-10

How blessed are the poor in spirit! For the Kingdom of heaven is theirs. How blessed are those who mourn! For they will be comforted. How blessed are the meek! For they will inherit the Land! How blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness! For they will be filled. How blessed are those who show mercy! For they will be shown mercy. How blessed are the pure in heart! For they will see God. How blessed are those who make peace! For they will be called the sons of God. How blessed are those who are persecuted because they pursue righteousness! For the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs!

John 17:26

I made Your Name known to them, and I will continue to make it known; so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I Myself may be united with them.

Acts 17:26-28

From one man He made every nation living in the entire surface of the earth, and He fixed the limits of their territories and periods when they would flourish. God did this so that people would look for Him and perhaps reach out and find Him although in fact, He is not far from each of us, for in Him we live and move and exist. Indeed, as some of the poets among you have said, “We are actually His children.”

Romans 8:33-39

So who will bring a charge against God’s chosen people? Certainly not God  – He is the One who causes them to be considered righteous! Who punishes them? Certainly not the Messiah Yeshua, who died and – more than that – has been raised, is at the right hand of God and is actually pleading on our behalf! Who will separate us from the love of the Messiah? Trouble? Hardship? Persecution? Hunger? Poverty? Danger? War? As the Tanakh puts it, ” For Your sake we are being put to death all day long, we are considered to be sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are superconguerors, through the One who has loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming, neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.

Ephesians 1:3; 3:20

Praised be Adonai, Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who in the Messiah has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heaven.

Now to Him who by His power working in us is able to do far beyond anything we can ask or imagine, to Him be the glory in the Messianic Community and in the Messiah Yeshua from generation to generation forever. Amen.

✡ May the grace and peace in Yeshua the Messiah be yours in full measure ✡

Escape Artist

March 2, 2017 at 5:51 am (Thoughts to Ponder, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Matthew 24:3; 13; 42-46

When He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, His talmidim (disciples) came to Him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that You are coming, and that the ‘olam hazeh (this age) is ending?”

But whoever holds out till the end will be delivered.

So stay alert, because you don’t know the hour your Lord will come. But you do know this: had the owner of the house known a thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you too must always be ready, for the Son of Man will come when you’re not expecting Him. Who is the faithful and sensible servant whose master puts him in charge of the household staff, to give them their food at the proper time? It will go well with that servant if he is found doing his job when his master comes.

It seems that people fixate on the day of the rapture today like they fixated on signs in the days of Yeshua.

I’m sure there are and were then those who truly desired to serve and know the Lord within these fixations. But for most, it’s a form of escapism.

How can we avoid…we don’t want to suffer…show us how to become immune…what can we look for to know our time is up…I’m tired of being here…

The Scripture above shows a rather stark picture for escape artist. To escape from something indicates that one must be imprisoned or trapped. Hence the need at this point to ask oneself, “Have I been freed?” If we read Psalms 34 in its entirety we see a totally different picture of one who is called by God and waiting for His return. All the signs depended on, are already given, our relational progression and walk with Him, right where we’re at, at the present time. The hope held onto for a time we don’t know (exactly, though the timing we do) but have been promised.

In fact the only form of escape that comes close to being freed from a trap in scripture; is from the enemy. (Save one, though it’s misinterpreted, I’ll get to that one later)

1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Peter 1:4; 2 Timothy 2:26; Ezekiel 7:16; 2 Peter 2:20;

Matthew 6:13

And do not lead us into hard testing, but keep us safe from the evil one. For Kingship, power, and glory are Yours forever. Amen.

The above scripture is the closest Yeshua (Jesus) ever comes to such a line of thought.  Not exactly escape as some have in mind but it runs more parallel with the idea. He doesn’t say, “let us never have testing, and never face the evil one.”  So here, is not find such an endorsement to escapism.

The testing of our trust is how it grows, we’ll all deal with this or we won’t grow. As for the evil one, no one, including Yeshua Himself, escapes encounters with him. To be protected is far different than to be written a pass to get out of it. How do we discern evil from good if we never encounter evil? How does one know what they are saved from if they don’t feel the effects of evil? Escape is not an alternative.

Going back up to the first scriptures, fellow-sheep, notice the last sentence? We have work to do, work that we are to have as a natural response to our unity with the Lord, to be passionate and full of zeal to accomplish. Not this tapping of fingers type illusion of waiting. Looking around at all that evil out there and wondering when God’s going to smash the smithereens outta those evil people. No, instead we are quick to thank the Lord for His patience as we are still in no clean condition to meet Him for the Bridal supper He has prepared for those who endure to the end. Our else we’d be there, right now!

Let’s look at some more scripture.

2 Peter 3:11-15

Since everything is going to be destroyed like this, what kind of people should you be? You should live holy and godly lives, as you wait for the Day of God and WORK TO HASTEN IT’S COMING. That Day will bring on the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt from the heat; but we, following along with His Promise, WAIT for new heavens and a new Earth, in which righteousness will be at home. Therefore, dear friends, as you look for these things, do everything you can to be found by Him without spot or defect and AT PEACE. And think of our Lord’s patience as deliverance, just as our dear brother Sha’ul (Paul) wrote you, following the wisdom God gave him.

So, we see here, that instead of being the kind that keep looking at the clock in order to “clock out”. We are instead to be looking at the clock as if those minutes are going too fast for there are more souls that need to be served in honor of Him, whose mission at His heart was to save the lost! And all of us have not exhausted the clock in search of Him to know Him more!

Romans 13:11-12

Besides all this, you know at what point of history we stand, so it is high time for you to rouse yourselves from sleep: for the final deliverance is nearer than when we first came to trust. The night is almost over, the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and arm ourselves with the weapons of light.

This scripture says get ready, war is upon us! Not pack your bags, it’s about to get tuff, we’re outta here! If this indeed be our heart, then we can have no part in the One who knelt down to wash the feet of those He sends, as an example of how we are to see our time here.

2 Timothy 2:3

Accept your share in suffering disgrace as a good soldier of the Messiah Yeshua.

Hebrews 10:35-39; 12:25

So don’t throw away that courage of yours, which carries with it such a great reward. For you need to hold out; so that, by having done what God wills, you may receive what He has promised. For,

There is so little time! The One coming will indeed come, He will not delay. But the person who is righteous will live his life by trusting, and if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him. (Habakkuk 2:3-4)

However, we are not the kind who shrink back and are destroyed; on the contrary we keep trusting, and thus preserve our lives!

See that you don’t reject the One speaking! For if those did not escape who rejected Him when He gave divine warning on earth, think how much less we will escape if we turn away from Him when He warns from Heaven.

Philippians 4:7-9

Rejoice in union with the Lord always! I will say it again: rejoice! Let everyone see how reasonable and gentle you are. The Lord is near! Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your request known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then God’s shalom (peace) passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and mind safe in union with Messiah Yeshua. In conclusion, brothers, focus your thoughts on what is true, noble, righteous, pure, loveable or admirable, on some virtue or on something praise worthy. Keep doing what you have learned and received from me, what you have heard and seen me doing; then the God who gives shalom will be with you.

1 Corinthians 1:8

He will enable you to hold out until the end and thus be blameless on the Day of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

Revelation 2:10; 12:11

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the adversary is going to have some of you thrown in prison, in order to put you to the test; and you will face an ordeal for ten days. Remain faithful, even to the point of death; and I will give you life as your crown.

They defeated him because of the Lambs blood and because of the measure of their witness. Even when facing death they did not cling to life.

Now I’ll bring up that scripture I spoke of earlier.

Luke 21:34-36

But keep watch on yourselves, or your hearts will become dulled by carousing, drunkenness and the worries of everyday living, and the Day will be sprung upon you suddenly like trap!  For it will close in on everyone, no matter where they live, throughout the whole world. Stay alert, always praying that you will have the strength to escape all the things that will happen and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

This scripture is endlessly used as a defense for the whole trapped/ escape mentality. But let’s look closely at what it really says. Those who say they are saved but are still practicing the unsaved life will be trapped, not those who are working with God to hasten the Day of the Lord! And the word escape in verse 36 is not used in the context of “stop the world Lord I want off!” Look closely, it starts by saying…STAY ALERT, this same feeling is behind Yeshua when in the garden before His arrest, He kept going back to His disciples, asking them to wake and pray. The escape being taught here is the deception that we are and will be subjected to in the last days. Also the apathy and lethargy that will come from running out of patience, thinking it is time for God to do His thing! Why would we need to pray for strength if the escape here meant the rapture? God in His strength will do that, no strength on our part will hasten or help Him gather His people at the appointed time of His coming. Every time we are told to stay alert/pray for strength it’s to endure, persevere, hold out, keep going.

We do know that there are things Adonai intends to keep His Bride from experiencing, but the severity of all of this time period is not in keeping with His history from Genesis to Revelation. Our testing, refining by fire, come through great oppression. Never has God kept us from learning the lessons of depravity. Then applying those lessons to perseverance then to character that leads to letting go of selfish wants to escape and instead changing our hearts to reach out and enter into the service of snatching those that are lost and witnessing and tending the wounds as we wait, trust and believe…in the darkest hour…He will come! Just ask any survivor of the Holocaust. Ask those who stood as Titus wrecked the 2nd temple, trapping and starving those in the city to the point that they ate their own children! (70 AD, after Yeshua had died and ascended).

The hour, dear brothers and sisters will be very dark this time as well, we will rend our garments and our knees will be bloody from the posture of prayer and kneeling of service to His sheep. But we will know to be looking “up”, we will know that His coming is nigh, and with our hearts fully turned upon Him we will wait patiently that all may know Him! The signs are already neon and blinking all around us, we don’t need more, nor do we need to fixate on the day He will come. This day won’t take us by surprise, only those who don’t know what it means to tend His estate, feed His sheep, keep our lamps full of His oil…(these will not be trapped and looking for a way of escape.) Those who do not will. Until then we are to teach and encourage these things He’s so graciously given us as directions to guide us through some very hard times. Sticking to His plan not trying to get Him to see the wisdom of ours!

Don’t be an escape artist! Be the artist of His shalom! HIS LIGHT! Encourage! Lift up and help each other prepare for the times ahead, praying unceasingly and holding out the hope that is real – He’s coming! Coming soon! May we be found working, and holding tight to the fringes of His tallith until then!

Go with God!

🕎 Grace and peace be yours in abundance in union with our Messiah Yeshua 🔯 King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Amen 🕯

God’s Ways: Rerouting Perspectives

January 26, 2016 at 2:17 pm (Mile Stones, Remodeling the Mind, WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

image

Exodus 33:14-15;16b
He (Adonai) answered, “Set your mind at ease – My presence will go with you after all.” Moses replied, “If Your presence doesn’t go with us don’t make us go on from here…
That is what distinguishes us, me and Your people, from all other people’s on earth.”

Has it ever occurred to you that God so often used very odd circumstances to get in to a place deep within us, that has absolutely nothing to do with the circumstances themselves? He sets the board, and what we see moves us forward accordingly. As things progress, it becomes rather obvious that He’s moving in through back doors to the goal He had in mind. Almost as if He distracts us with our limited vision and surface prone tendencies, to sneak in where we wouldn’t have went with Him any other way. I’ve experienced this on many occasions, recently as well. The past experiences didn’t que me in to look for His back door agendas in any of these cases. When God wants to move in behind something, no human on earth can track His movements until He’s reached His destination! Only then, can we look back and trace His path, but not until He’s popped up in the seemingly most intentionally sneaky way. It’s been said repeatedly before: “if we saw where God was leading us, we’d most often recalculate our GPS in the other direction.”

image

At the end of October, 2015 God pointed His finger, very obviously, in the direction of a new location, new plan, and said “go buy a house, in that place.” We were set on a different location for moving, our plans moved north with our hearts, Montana was home. He pointed South. Our plans were to move into an RV and with our new business travel, live simple, and find a home base in Montana at some point. Sick of moving, sick of all the stuff that one accumulates in a house or apartment, we wanted to be free of it, and mobile to go where God said go. All very good intentions, none violating any will of God, but still not His will for us, however our perspectives saw it.

image

So the house hunt ensued, we found one, and all hell broke loose in the process. Two months of grinding, stressful and rest stealing work began. Staying close to Him, we followed every step, endured crazy situations, and wound up with it all falling through. Not the results we humans expect when we feel we’ve done all God asked of us. Yet even at this place, we trusted and went forth on another house hunt (it continues). All the while, God was with us and went before us, we knew that. What wasn’t obvious was that He was slipping in behind us, moving into the center of us, arriving at His intended destination, our hearts, His Home, not a relocation or house on earth. God knows us so well, we don’t face things unless we’re forced to. Circumstances are the forces He uses to bring us to that inner mirror, the one that reflects us back at ourselves but not only do we see ourselves but we can’t avoid seeing ourselves as He sees us in these moments. It’s a faithfulness on His part to go so great a route to get us there. We don’t need to just see ourselves, we need to see ourselves with Him. All the grace and mercy He has to give is ready there. If we just see ourselves, raw and rotten, without Him – we will be lost and walk away without remembering what we look like. But with Him, as hard as that reflection may look with His perfection hovering about us, there’s a pivotal transformation that becomes possible. The circumstances that brought us there, fades into the background becoming relatively insignificant. The house, the place, those were and are insignificant compared to His presence and passion to develop His character in the home Yeshua and His Father took up residence in the day we turned our souls back into Their care. (John 14:23)

image

At this juncture, Adonai has revealed His path into the back yard of our hearts, and we are now “getting down to business”. The house hunt continues, relocation all on the horizon, but the real work is right where we are, no matter where we are geographically. Big things that have been hidden and slipped through the cracks are being reflected in His eyes, ever so compassionately and full of that grace that pours out like roaring rivers, Sam and I stand at this place of healing intent. I reach my arms out wide to receive whatever shall keep me here until He has done all He shall do. I pray my beloved will do the same. I have confidence in the work of my God and His ways. More to be revealed. ..but today its enough to know He’s with us. That this alone is what distinguishes us as His – His presence – nothing more, nothing less. We hover at the mirror, eyes on Him and tracking His finger where He is pointing within, waiting on the grace, holding onto the new mercies He’s promised this morning will provide, yielding to His hands as they reshape the clay that these circumstances have softened enough to submit to Him. And once again, we wait. ..He works, we wait. He shapes, we yield. He holds us, we lean into being held.

A quote from Wayne Stiles book Waiting on God.

This section comes from the chapter titled Letting Go.

To resist or resent the time God’s priorities require amounts to resisting God.
Waiting on God reminds us of those facts. Waiting keeps us humble. Waiting shows us over the passing of time that it’s all about God and none of it is about us – except to the degree that we glorify Him. Remember, the goal is God’s glory, not our productivity or personal fulfillment. In our waiting, God weans us from the pride of having to control everything or understand matters “too difficult for” us (Ps. 131:1). God chooses how we glorify Him. He alone selects which of His servants will produce what levels of output – and yet, He also rewards faithfulness on any level with equal commendation (see Matt. 25:14-23).
God works through our waiting to strengthen our character through weakness, to develop our peace of mind by trusting Him in chaos, to teach us that we can glorify Him just as much by waiting on Him as we can by serving Him. When we choose to find our fulfillment in His glory, then we can wait on Him to open the door of greater influence in His time. That’s really His business entirely. Ours is to live faithfully wherever He puts us now.
God’s timing knows it’s own reasons. Perhaps the delay occurs to test how seriously we will pray. Our maybe, in spite of all we’ve learned, God still has more to teach us. Our maybe the delay has little to do with us at all – because it depends on someone else responding to God.
Whatever the reasons, I’m convinced that in most cases God delays because He wants to give us more than we’re asking for. He loves us enough to wait to give us His best rather than to satisfy our impatience with a quick, cheap substitute. That’s why we mustn’t equate His delay with a deaf ear. Sometimes what seems like God’s apathy is really His mercy.
Slammed doors do more than bend your nose; they keep your heart pliable, sensitive, and available to God’s leading. Not only does He keep secret the difficult valleys you’ll experience (and many of the mountaintops) but also the tremendous lessons you’ll glean no other way. Lessons you didn’t know you needed to learn. Lessons you’ll thank Him for one day. You may fail to recognize God using you significantly because you define God “using you” in terms of what you consider significant: results. God defines results in terms of character. Words like productivity and efficiency remain conspicuously absent from the fruit of the Spirit (see Gal. 5:22-23). These results of God working in your life all reflect character – His character. Character alone produces godly results.
– end quote, (they came from various sections; in order but with some left out for length shortening purposes)

What’s in a Word?

December 17, 2014 at 2:35 am (WSGD Newes) (, , , , , , , , , , )

image

However, each will be rewarded according to his (her) work. For we are God’s co-workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. Using the grace God gave me, I laid a foundation, like a skilled master-builder; and another man is building on it. But let each one be careful how he (she) builds. For noone can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). Some will use gold, silver or previous stones in building on this foundation; while others will use wood, grass or straw. But each one’s work will be shown for what it is; the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by firethe fire will test the quality of each one’s work. If the work someone has built on The Foundation survives, he (she) will receive a reward; if it is burned up, he (she) will have to bear the loss: he (she) will still escape with his (her) life, but it will be like escaping through a fire. 1 Corinthians 3:8-15

Within the above text there are a mayhem of metaphors! I will list them:

– field
– building
– foundation
– gold
– silver
– precious stones
– wood
– grass
– straw
– day
– fire
– work
– reward
– burned
– loss
– life
– escaping

Each one of these words symbolize something done inside a soul (mind, heart, which reside within a physical body). So each word means something other than what the actual physical thing is. Every physical thing God has made represents a function of spiritual reality. For instance, one hardly can apply gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass or straw to the foundation within a soul. (Though there are actual instances of where some have tried… and failed). Tattooing Adonai’s name over our chest where the actual heart is located – even in gold – will not place Him any closer to our heart of hearts.

So what do all these words actually mean? What function do they serve in the physical realm? How does Adonai use these words in context to Himself in all the Bible? He has from Genesis to Revelations used each one repeatedly. How can we possibly hope to understand these words taken all together here in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians if we don’t understand where and how Adonai has used and taught through and with them throughout His history with us? Make note of the way that last statement reads. His history with us, not our history with Him. The difference between these two is the difference between wisdom and foolishness. The direction or flow of all things begins with God.

God -> beginning -> heavens -> earth -> plants -> animals -> man -> and so on…

In the beginning God…

He is the direct object of all things, the beginning and end, all arrows point to Him and point from Him. So how He has used these words from the beginning is essential to knowing Him at any point along the way – especially at the end… where we are!

Word studies are not for pastors and leaders or teachers. They are for each Follower of Yeshua. He is the Word. To know Him we must dive into what He’s made of and make it part of ourselves. Adopt His ways as our own. This is essentially what building means, and the labor of tearing down our own house, walls, roof, plumbing, electrical and so on and beginning again (aka starting over from scratch) according to His design (from the beginning) is the work being spoken of here. The actual learning of the true meanings of the words is simple. The building and labor of living them – well this is where we begin to understand why He said “narrow is the way and few are they who find it“. (Matt. 7:14) There are as many excuses as sands on a beach for why we don’t study our instruction manual (aka God’s Word) and instead read it. What gives our souls absorbing quality to it is the study of it. To read it, even memorize it, we will still be as a rock by which it rolls over and around us; perhaps even eroding away some small parts of us, but never truly becoming and transforming us.

Yeshua is as profoundly in the Old Testament as He is in the New. Do you see it? Do you see every word He spoke as He lived and walked in human flesh only repeats everything from Genesis to Malachi? Do you see why we become Israel – Jews by being grafted in? Note: Abraham was not a Jew by blood. He was called, chosen by God and hence the Jews became. The only reason God kept a blood record was to prove He keeps His promises; specifically His promise to Abraham. Exactly and precisely as He said He would. So we can know He will keep His promises to us exactly and precisely as He said/says to us! Jews are the chosen people of God, not a bloodline heritage or ethnic group. However offended it may be taken. That is fact backed by God Himself. Isn’t it written in the New Testament that He chose us not the other way around. (John 15:16) And that this is the distinction between religious people and God’s people. And did He, Himself not say to Abraham all the people’s of the world would be blessed through him? (Gen. 22:18)

Many of the words in the list above are very misunderstood by mere human logic alone. The word fire for instance. Even those having been educated in the long ranks of “believers” only see this word as testing. But as suffering? The Christian comfort prone doctrine has failed to teach what the whole of scripture has taught and especially Yeshua Himself and all His disciples after Him. We must take heed to be corrected every time we study God’s Word. Why? Because His ways are not our ways nor His thoughts our thoughts. (Is. 55:8) For every word in scripture is God’s thoughts but where we go with our thoughts with them is full of historical facts of us twisting them to make sense to us. Mostly due to us not being taught to study the Word instead of reading and memorizing it. It’s not a newspaper or book. It’s God. And what does He say about Himself? “Our God is a consuming fire.” (Heb. 12:29) And oh, how we suffer to have our minds renewed, changed. Our egos (aka pride) suffers most in the transformation. Even those of us who credit ourselves as ‘open minded’ don’t begin to understand how His fire consumes until we begin to study His Words and let them burn down our “houses” consuming everything in its wake in ways we couldn’t begin to imagine!

Now, see that every word written above points to and clarifies the words in the list above and begins to open the door for us to enter into the true meaning in the Scripture at the top. He (she) who has ears let them hear.

A Consciousness of Work

February 5, 2013 at 2:56 am (Mile Stones) (, , , , , , , , , , )

The air was clear, clean and full of life. The wind was asleep. A consciousness of work approaching completion filled earth and air – a mood of calm expectation. There was no song of birds – only an occasional crow from the yard or the cry of a blackcock from the hill. The two streams were left to do all the singing, and they did their best, though their water was low. The day was of the evening of the year; even in the full sunshine the twilight and the coming night were present, but there was a sense of readiness on all sides. The fruits of the earth must be housed; that alone remained to be done. ~ George MacDonald from The Highlander’s Last Song. ~

I have stood in such a place and Presence that these words not only jar my recollection, but sting anew from their engraving on my soul. The disease of busyness and call of the almighty dollar had all but been extracted from my senses. Nature alone had my ears, eyes, and heart; those of the physical and of the spiritual. Ahhh, how ALIVE one becomes aware of what they ARE in moments like that. The wooing back to unattended moments – where the mind is closing in on empty and the heart full of wordless decrees spoken from an ancient language – far before the sophisticated advancement of speech. Simple in its vast resources of complexity. Narrowed down to “fit” the mind of mankind. Holy and so sacred the Word of God becomes encoded in the very air, sight, sound, and feelings that can’t help but read it.

Once the heart of the child of God has been held so tenderly by Him in this way, its hard pressed to enter back into the more “flat-plains” of going, doing, moving back onto the on-ramp of “traffic”. Slowly getting back up to speed of the crowds attempting to obey the law but finding a thousand excuses to be the exception. Giving in to the appearance of “joining in” with others in a “common” flow but really mindless of the fact that others are there. Annoyed when they remind us they are, and quick to reassert that we are the one that matters most, except where we have chosen to make an exception. We aim our mode of transportation where we think we have done the work to earn the “right”. Yet if the child of God will stop – stop long enough to look at the vast creation that speaks the Truth with every fiber of its being…humility and inexcusable truth begins to change our perspectives. How very small we become when we limit ourselves to the smallness of the world.

A consciousness of work approaching completion…fruits of the earth yet to be housed…needing to be done.

Our Father is the main Worker of these fields we occupy; and His harvest is of souls. They can not be stored up with our version of love, charity, good deeds and thoughtfulness. They can not be purchased with our blood, sweat or tears. We either enter into His conscious work approaching completion or do nothing but aid and abed its persistence in resistance. Not that anything can keep His work from completion; Yeshua (Jesus) said, “It is finished.” The last breath He took, as a man born of flesh and blood, was given to that work. The next one was in that state of Completion. Oh, that we would believe that! In every thought and deed we do! The next time you are outside, stop and look at the earth that has been given us, the sky that holds the evidence of His faithfulness to a ignorant and unfaithful children; and ask Him to show you what He means by it! Then you and I will enter in, if only for those brief moments, the Work, the Consciousness, and feel His approach in completing it within our very core! Leaving us with a sense of readiness on all sides; eager to enter in! Being “outfitted” with His love, blood, sweat, tears, good deeds, thoughtfulness, charity, and courage to harvest His fruits; to house, store, nurture and enrich them as better than “our own”.
