The Carpenter

O Lord, at Joseph’s humble bench
Thy hands did handle saw and plane;
Thy hammer nails did drive and clench,
Avoiding knot and humouring grain.

image

That Thou didst seem, Thou wast indeed,
In sport Thy tools Thou didst not use;
Nor, helping hinds or fishers need,
The labourer’s hire, too nice, refuse.

Lord, might I be but as a saw,
A plane, a chisel, in Thy hand!
No, Lord! I take it back in awe,
Such prayer for me is far too grand.

image

I pray, O Master, let me lie,
As on Thy bench the favored wood;
Thy saw, Thy plane, Thy chisel ply,
And work me into something good.

image

No, no; ambition, Holy-high,
Urges for more than both to pray:
Come in, O Gracious Force, I cry –
Or workmen, share my shed of clay.

Then I, at bench, or desk, or oar,
With knife or needle, voice or pen,
As Thou in Nazareth of yore,
Shall do the Father’s will again.

image

This fashioning a workmen rare,
O Master, this shall be Thy fee,
Home to Thy Father Thou shalt bear
Another child made like Thee.

Shadows and Dust

Shadows ands dust
That’s what you’d like me to believe I am

Floating on the winds of human illusions
Left to the chance breezes of monetary bondages
Cast into the shadow of man’s invention
Shaped by their slave molding institutions

Oh, but most of all!
Most of all you’d bind me to the chains of me-ism
Every thought revolving towards myself
Caught in the lightless shade of self-absorbtion
This is your highest prize

But by the Grace that shaped the universe
I speak the Name – Yeshua
My eyes begin to light
The world fades dark as night
Yeshua, Yeshua, the Great Light

Fear falls like the shadows and dust you intended for man
Your jealousy crawls in darkness
Yahweh has loved these weak-kneed creatures
Fear follows His thought to the pit

Loosened now, are the chains that perpetuate the self-full soul
The pin point flame of Grace begins a roaring fire
Refining the weakness into His strength
The me-ism loses desire

The inner soul turns instead to the Glory!
Glory, glory in the Highest!
Worthy is the One to be praised!
The envied little weaklings you so abhorred
Now turns from themselves to stand in His gaze!

You screech and paw, and maim and kill
But you are weakness imbodied still
Cast out as the dust and shadows you offered us instead

And what more do or did you have to offer?
You Liar, son of deceit!
I stand in the coat of Blood that’s been offered
Shaking your dust off His feet!

Hear and harken, dust and shadows
You’ll play no tricks on my Savior
My ears will close up to your shadow
My eyes shall see only His Light
HE! HE has decreed it!  It will be so
So even if, I shall become dust again
His breath will again wake me and I will look upon His face, forever!

Isaiah 14:26-27
This is the program planned for all the earth, this is the Hand stretched out over all the nation’s. Adonai-Tzva’ot has made His decision. Who is there that can stop Him? He has stretched out His Hand. Who can turn it back?

Isaiah 32:1-4
There is coming a King who will reign justly and princes who will rule uprightly. A man will be like a refuge from the wind, like protection from a storm, like streams of water on arid ground, like a rock cliff shading a weary land. The eyes of those seeing will not be closed, the ears of those hearing will pay close attention. The minds of the impetuous will learn to weigh carefully, the tongues of the stutterers will speak readily and clearly.

Jeremiah 31:3
From a distance Adonai appeared to me, saying, “I love you with an everlasting love; this is why in My Grace I draw you to Me.

Ezekiel 34:15-16
Yes, I will pasture My sheep; and I will let them rest, says (declares) Adonai Elohim. I will seek the lost, bring back the outcasts, bandage the broken, and strengthen the sick. But the fat and the strong I will destroy – I will feed them with judgement.

Psalms 2:7
I will proclaim the decree Adonai said to me, “You are My son; today I became your Father.”

Lamentations 3:21-39
But in my mind I keep returning to something, something that gives me hope -that the Grace of Adonai is not exhausted, that His compassion has not ended. On the contrary, they are new every morning! How great is Your Faithfulness! “Adonai is all I have,” I say; “therefore I will put my hope in Him.” Adonai is good to those waiting for Him, to those who are seeking Him. It is good to wait patiently for the saving help of Adonai. It is good for a man to bear the yoke from his youth. Let him sit alone in silence when He has laid it on him. Let him submit absolutely; there may yet be hope. Let him offer his cheek to the one who strikes it, and receive his fill of insults. For rejection by Adonai does not last forever. He may cause grief, but He will take pity, in keeping with the greatness of His Grace. For He does not arbitarily torment or punish human beings. When anyone tramples underfoot any of the prisoners of the land; when anyone deprives a person of justice, in defiance of the Most High; when someone is cheated of justice in court – does Adonai not take note of such things? Who can say something and have it happen without Adonai commanding it? Don’t both bad things and good proceed from the mouth of the Most High? Why should anyone alive complain, even a strong man, about the punishment for his sins?

Ephesians 1:7-12
In union with Him, through the shedding of His blood, we are set free – our sins are forgiven; this accords with the wealth of the Grace He has lavished on us. In all His wisdom and insight He has made known to us His secret plan, which by His own will He designed beforehand in connection with the Messiah and will put into effect when the time is ripe – His plan to place everything in heaven and on earth under the Messiah’s headship.

Unity’s Requiem

August 26, 2015 at 5:34 am (Poems) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

image

Love comes in miracles
Laced inside His breath
He inhales mercy
Exhales grace
And pulls us to His chest

Stars spin and freely fly
At the mere shadow of His passing by
Glee twinkles and strikes a tune
Of Sonshine in early June

The cosmos plays
While earth awaits
It’s resurrection at Edens gates
No lack of patience, no stir of restless
There’s only trust He’ll surely bless us

No toys of evil
Tempt to play
Upon the faithless in dismay
For all the victory
Has been played out
Upon the Savior when He bled out

No self obsession
Can draw a breath
Loves conception seals the debt
A covenant forged
In timeless reeds
No hand could mold it
But Abba’s creeds

Single Words conception
Formed flawless perfection
An aged-weary sigh
That awaits as He draws nigh

Hold not a sorrow
Grasp not a hope
In anguished marrow
For His breath has awoken you

To endless joy-beams
Crafting the sky
Teaching anew how to praise
More glorious than sunrise or sunset rays

A wondrous leaping
On inner limbs
Spirit-born reflections begins
Riding the waves
Of crimson flow
Blinding the need to know

Trust, O, the sweetest refrain
Trust breathes life into dry bones again
Oh, sweet the soar on trustworthy wings
That needs no feathers
To make the air sing

Oh chosen gladness
That gouges the eyes of dispond
That awakens sacrifice
The true heart longs

Reaching ever for more to give
Nothing to have
Nothing to keep
Oh Song of no needing
Sing Thou your tune
Awaken the cry of blessed tomb
Empty now for all time
The last stanza of human crime

Peace pulls out her palette
Paints the future
And impregnates with her fertile stroke
The weakened human knees of those the Father walks with
Again in the garden
Where the Son made the choice for all time and seasons

Balance plays on the lap of peace
Forever a child
Forged in the fire of timeless love
Holds out his hand to the Father above

Now at His side
The Keeper of trust
Pours out His armor
On human rust
Now blanketed in gold
And righteous crowns
Kept polished and ready
Where no sin abounds

Blades of grass promise
Peddles of flowers assure
Snow flakes refract and refresh
Feeding the truth in prisms
Barren limbs reach without doubt
So shall we, the ones so hard fought for!
So gloriously won!
The Ones died for, now die daily
Flesh wrestles with cracked limbs
Breaking through with Spirit-soaked acclaim!
Shouting the Name of all Names!
Oh to be Holy, oh to be His!
The lovers kiss bids the wedding begun!

Sing, oh soul of redemption
His Kingdom Come!
Thy will is done!
On this earth-dusty, reborn soul, we are One!

Snapshot

A snapshot in two times, two prophets, two children of the Father, one a prophet drawn by the heart of the Father with bitter warnings, one The Prophet, the Son of God, the One the former prophet warned and spoke of, given by the heart of the Father as the ultimate gift for the world.

Both of these scriptures come within the context of woes and warnings. Both reveal the heart of the Father, that weeps for our unwillingness to listen, to obey, to see His mighty merciful and longing Fatherly heart. Firm but broken open for the refusal of His people.

Too, often God is pictured as the rule giving, too demanding, too strict, lacking in understanding and patience. It was 470 year from Jeremiah to Yeshua (Jesus), it’s been roughly 2011 years since Yeshua to now. Could any of us be patient like God the Father? How many of us would wait, longing, hoping, working, loving. ..for just that amount of time 2481 years, how about a tenth of that? Now consider since the creation of the world? I think He still weeps, reaching with longing arms towards us. I relate, as a parent, as He intended for that experience to show us His own heart. Reaching for my children, lost and wandering, searching for answers different than the ones they’ve been taught. Knowing deep down God’s way is best, but mixing up their own with His attempting to do it their own way. I remember well my own searching, wandering, wayward bend. This reminder is recalled daily as I learn anew how deep that cavern goes in my flesh. As a young woman, I felt nothing but my own displeasure and disgust for my behavior. This I projected onto God the Father. I thank God everyday, that now I know He weeps for me, reaches out for me, full of love, with the strength of His compassion! Most people don’t see how full of power The Father’s compassion is! The unbending hold of His tears! Holding all things in a seeming state of suspense to us, but winding down into His awesome will like seeds of flowers in a field about to be doust with spring rain to prove what we can’t see is just there, resting in His hand that feeds all things in His timing! Alone the seeds seem small and worthless. The ground, fallow from winter sleeps, seem dark and lifeless.

God the Father seems to be content with lack of growth for a time. Perhaps He is. Content because He has never made even one little thing that can not and will not grow. The rains are His tears, all around the world, the flood of His tears run and slide and wash away the things of this world that could never provide what His tears could and can. Elsewhere, the drought of His weeping until there are no more tears, turns the earth into a cleansing fire. Man sees it as a destructive invasion, God sends His tears in the form of a scould to stop the bleeding of wounds. Haven’t you ever cried so hard so long that tears ran dry?

Thousands of years ago, there was a weeping prophet, drawn into and compelled by the very heart of a weeping God. Then came a weeping Savior, whose final tear as a human torn asunder, fell from His cheek with the words “It is finished“. The weeping will now one day be turned into nothing but dancing! The arms of the Loving Father are now held out, wide open, desiring that none should perish, so the weeping continues, and the longing, reaching, teaching, faithful patience that makes Him who He is!

These are two reflections, of the heart of Abba Father.Remember He weeps with us, groans with us or rather our own weeping and groaning reflect Him! His patience has purpose for all of us. Those of us who acknowledge Him in all our ways, those who run from Him, and those who will be lost to Him forever. How long will I hold out for my child? As long as I have breath in my body. God’s breath created the very beginning of all things, it shall never run out, it shall never grow old and decay, it is eternal. We remember, we are not waiting on word for this or that; we wait on Him. We are not waiting for answers to prayer; we are waiting on Him! The answers are already there! We aren’t waiting on jobs, raises, houses, results, beginnings or endings; we wait on Him. We wait on Him, and He is worth waiting for! May we find that we are satisfied, as the earth we stand, sit, and rest upon is satisfied with all He provides!
